Duo Leveling characters are certainly making it to our list of best webtoon characters of 2026, especially Lily and Zari. They truly showed why unity is the best thing in any form of battle, and it can triumph over all evil. Read about the Duo Leveling characters and know what the hype is all about regarding these characters!
Duo (ENTP)

Mr Duo is a treat to read as well as to watch! While being absolutely confused about how things went haywire with the quest portals, he managed to find out a cloaked figure through the traffic footage camera. This revelation leads to the first quest portal, a chess puzzle. Upon facing the dimension, he has a quite serious and prideful meltdown. “If my big brain and bulging muscles can’t break us out, nothing can…To never again feel the sun’s rays upon my beautiful green feathers? How cruel!” However, if he hadn’t flown Lily up, she wouldn’t have managed to solve the chess puzzle in two moves.
Duo’s pride again peeped out in Duo Leveling Chapter 3 when Zero threw the song note challenge. After he leaves, Duo says, “That guy is the worst! Popping in here all mysterious-like and flaunting his stupid ice magic. Ice magic sucks. He sucks. Jerk. Definitely wasn’t super cool or anything.” While seeing Oscar emerge from the chessboard, Duo became excited about the triumph of their quest. Seeing Falstaff, he couldn’t hold back his tears, expressing his need to stay united with his team.
Lily (INTJ)

Lily is “a lone wolf type with top-notch analytical skills and a permanent frown. However, as the story proceeds, we will see many layers of Lily’s personality as she turns out to be the main character of Duo Leveling. Lily is smart and very cautious about her next step. When Zero appears in their headquarters through a portal, and Duo runs behind him, she stops Zari and tries to make sense of the situation. She tells her they are not equipped and not aware of the coming consequences, showing a skeptical side to her nature. However, the moment Zari jumped, she couldn’t hold herself back. And in this serious moment, she shows great wisdom and writes down on paper that they are jumping through a portal, and if they don’t return by 3, they will need backup.
Lily is also that friend who can’t let you know that she cares. After following Zari to the portal with crossed arms, she says, “Couldn’t let you have all the glory.” She is the master of this portal because she has the brain for chess. Although the game concluded quite rapidly, one must note that the objective of this challenge was to mate in just two moves.
We see a lot of Lily’s swag, especially during her encounters with the mimics in the prologue and Duo Leveling Chapter 3, where she stops the mimics with her boot. Finally, in the Duo Leveling ending, she showed why she is one of the favorite characters. He tricks Zero into thinking she is making a deal with him while her real intention was to shake hands with him to trap him, as per the task.
Zari (ENFJ)

Zari’s personality is described in the webtoon as “a cheerful go-getter known for her positive attitude and incredible adaptivity. She is that one friend who will never be able to see you in trouble and would do anything to protect you. We realized this big time when, despite Lily’s warning, she jumped through the portal to be with Duo and make sure the adorable owl is alright.
Zari’s optimism is her one true trait. We see her optimism, especially in Duo Leveling Chapter 3. Although she was gradually turning into a cinder block of a maestro podium, she kept saying I’m fine and continued to give instructions to his team on the upcoming musical notes. In this quest, they managed to save Falstaff, #7 Streak Society member.
Zari reminded us of Hermione Granger as she objected to Zero’s perspective on education for only the talented ones. “Everyone should be allowed to learn, and they certainly shouldn’t have to risk their lives to do it!” Zari and Lily’s friendship shines through in Duo Leveling Chapter 5 as she never doubted her friend Lily, even though she acted to be on Zero’s team for a quick minute.
Oscar (ISTJ)

Oscar appears first in Duo Leveling Chapter 2 after Lily solves the first flawed quest of Zero – Chess Puzzle. He emerged from the cracked chessboard with the King piece on his head. “Good heavens, why is it so dusty in here?” Upon seeing him, Duo got confused, almost couldn’t believe his eyes; he had found a #5 ranking streak society member. To which Lily gave her classic remarks, “Dang Duo, exposition much?” Oscar gives off the vibe of a true grump. While Lily, Zari, and Duo saved him, he was reluctant to join their group to find out the real villain. He angrily starts screaming about how he signed up for the prestigious role, not to find out a mysterious figure. However, as Lily threatens to leave him alone in this portal, he quickly changes his mind and joins them.
Falstaff (ISFP)

We first see Falstaff in Duo Leveling Chapter 3 after Duo and his team, especially Zari, manage to solve the song note puzzle. Along with her, Falstaff also emerges from a cinder block looking all rested and yet tired. When Lily points out he looks calm despite being missing for 2 months, Falstaff says, “I’m a bear. 2 months is barely a head start on hibernation. Sides, not like it was possible to complete this challenge alone. Nothing I could’ve done differently. Let’s get out of here, shall we? I need a nap.”
Zero (INTJ)

Zero proved he is a villain by his utmost mindset, where even after losing to Lily in the first match of chess puzzle, he says, “The game’s not over yet! Let’s see if you have what it takes to finish my next challenge!” From Duo Leveling Chapter 3, it became quite clear to the readers that Zero’s focus is only on Lily as he directly throws the song note challenge to the group, eyeing specifically her. The readers learn his name as he immobilizes the team in one place and boasts about how he is the reason why they are all trapped in one place.
Zero’s intentions became quite clear as he confronted Duo in Chapter 4. He highlighted his hate towards Duo’s idea of offering knowledge to every passerby. “Only the truly talented deserve such resources. All I did was help you patch a bug. I fixed your stupid lessons.” His idea is clear: knowledge will not be wasted on idiots, and only the best will thrive. He also speaks his mind about the team and calls Oscar and Falstaff ‘riff-raff’. “You have power, yet still waste time on the weak. Sentimental drivel like that is what holds you back and lets losers like these thrive.”
The final trick of this devil was to make Lily join him, and in order to convince her, he created an illusion of Lily on a throne. But Lily actually tricked him into thinking she was on his team just to shake his hand with him and won the task.
