Meanwhile, Eros is scheming up some nasty tricks, but the drama does not end here; Medea’s cousins and other extended family members come to her place to wreak havoc in her life. Okay, let’s dive into it and discuss Your Throne Chapter 89-96.
Your Throne Chapter 89-96: Cunning Crown Prince
Your Throne Chapter 89: Selfless Service
Your Throne Chapter 89 begins with a meeting of the Ancillary Solon members. Following Thesion’s death and Medea’s rise as the new head, they plot to take control of the Solon by eliminating her. The scene shifts to Medea traveling to a northern village with Pell, where she is meant to participate in volunteer work. She expresses her disdain for the task because she believes it will be a waste of time. However, Pell insists on showing her the kindness still present in the world, hoping to “fix” her perspective. Helio accompanies them, and a lighthearted banter ensues between Pell and Helio. As they arrive, the children excitedly greet Helio, and the orphanage director warmly welcomes them. Observing Helio’s effortless rapport with the kids, Medea wishes Psyche could join them.
Meanwhile, at a boutique, Psyche commissions a beautiful dress for Medea and instructs the owner to have it delivered. In the carriage on her way home, she thinks about whether Medea will be appreciative of the gift. Her musings are cut short by an unexpected visitor—The Pope of Vasilios. In the following scene, Helio kills a man, and some assassins taunt Medea by calling her a coward. Amused by the taunts, she concludes Your Throne Chapter 89 with a wry smile.
Chapter 90: Unexpected Visitors
Your Throne Chapter 90 begins with Medea, Helio, and Pell playing with the children while a group of assassins lurks nearby, waiting for a chance to kill her. Later, as Medea and Helio step away from the others, he prepares to leave. An assassin runs ahead and tries to kill her, but Medea, quick in action, eliminates him. The other assassins sneer at her, but she doesn’t waver. In the next scene, Helio and Medea execute a coordinated attack, and the assassins are defeated.
Back to the Ancillary faction, which tracks Medea’s activities and the dukedom, they strategize and ensure that someone tracks her movement. Back in the present, the spy attempts to escape, but Medea spots him. On the other hand, at the Callista manor, the Pope, taking a walk with Psyche, cautions her not to associate with Pell, for she’d go into scandalous gossip. While he appears to be disturbed, Psyche unmasks his play and ends Your Throne Chapter 90 with ominous overtones that hint at ulterior motives.
Your Throne Chapter 91: More Enemies
Your Throne Chapter 91 begins with Psyche’s father waking up and asking for her. The servants inform him that she is with the Pope. In the Callista garden, she is consumed by suspicious thoughts about the Pope, sensing danger in his presence. To her shock, he openly admits to stalking her. As he prepares to leave, she confronts him, demanding to know his intentions. Ominously, he tells her that she only needs to be with Eros and remain ignorant before departing. Distressed and with a throbbing head, she recalls the banquet when she was inside Medea’s body and remembers the necklace Eros gifted her—a sacred relic that is difficult to access. She suddenly realizes that the Pope is conspiring with Eros to obtain her power.
Meanwhile, in a northern village, Medea and Helio capture a battered spy who begs for his life, assuring her he is no enemy. She finds out that he was sent by the far-off kin who had sent others to kill her from her position. Taking a cold-blooded decision, she stabs one of his eyes out, telling him to go back and tell them what befell him. Helio, in his anger, thinks of tearing the other eye out of his face. But Pell interrupts him, angry to see violence. She retorts that they tried to kill her first. Just as Pell is about to retort, Helio raises the sword at his face, telling him that he won’t let him stop her. Your Throne Chapter 91 ends here at this tense standoff.
Chapter 92: Envious
Your Throne Chapter 92 starts with Pell asking Helio to calm down. Helio, filled with anger, claims he knows nothing about what happened. He points to the dead assassins, accusing them of trying to kill Medea, and says that the spy Pell is trying to save is just as bad for not stopping them. To their surprise, Medea watches as Helio lunges to attack the spy’s other eye. She shouts for him to stop and tells him to listen to Pell. When he thinks the danger has passed, Helio punches him in anger.
The scene changes to Medea savoring soup while Pell complains about Helio’s behavior as he tends to his injuries. A flashback takes us to Pell’s first encounter with him during a war when Pell was living with refugees. He aims to solve problems peacefully, unlike Helio, who prefers a more violent approach, which creates tension between them. We get to see Pell’s past and how he was abandoned by the temple and brought up by the Pope. Growing up, Pell grasped more of the complexities of morality, which made the Pope send him away. Medea bluntly suggests that the Pope must have felt threatened by what Pell had the potential to be since if he genuinely cared for him, he would not have rejected him.
Later that night, when Medea and Pell see Helio sitting alone sulking, she goes to offer him comfort. Pell thinks perhaps Helio will only change if Medea does. When Medea approaches Helio, though, he brushes her off with disdain. Your Throne Chapter 92 concludes with Helio tearfully asking if she will remain virtuous while he gets his hands dirty.
Your Throne Chapter 93: Unsteady Experiences
Your Throne Chapter 93 begins with Helio crying in front of Medea, feeling hurt by her behavior. She comforts him and promises that she will only die after him, reassuring him that she will fight until the end. The next morning, as they prepare to leave, Pell introduces a little girl to Medea. The girl places a decorated branch in her hair, wishing her luck and health. She is moved by the present. Upon returning to the empire, they find people from the temple waiting for Pell, who is urged to return with them.
In the next scene, Pell has a meeting with the Pope, who gently warns him not to get involved with Medea. Pell argues that she shouldn’t be judged by her father’s past and that her views are important. The Pope, however, supports her funding strategy and asks Pell to give him all the details. He reluctantly agrees when the Pope says it’s hard to trust him with the money.
Following Medea’s plan, Pell asks the Pope for the authority to manage the distribution of the priests’ robes, which he believes will help unify the temple internally. Chapter 94: Queen Of Othilei
Your Throne Chapter 94 begins with Psyche presenting her flowers to the Pope. He sees her card asking for his presence at the ordination as a sign that she is cautious. In the end, he decides not to accept her invitation. Next, the last cabinet meeting before the ordination takes place. Medea walks in, and a noble tries to provoke her, but she quickly responds with cleverness. Soon after, Eros arrives, and she takes the seat her father used to occupy. As the meeting starts, he asks everyone to quiet down and unexpectedly holds her hand under the table, stating he has fixed the issues with the Envoy of Othilei.
In a previous war, the empire conquered Othilei which then resulted in the death of the king. His daughter proposed an offer for state-of-the-art shipbuilding and ruling the seas as long as their rights were secure. The empire accepted the proposal and signed the deal, but Vasilios still kept the remains of the king. Eros wants to accelerate the slow diplomacy of the empire by all peaceful means.
The public reacted well to Eros’s announcement, but some still have doubts. When the Queen of Othilei comes to visit, the people feel they must support this diplomatic effort. In the next scene, the Queen meets Eros and inquires about her father’s remains. Eros agrees and permits the use of the grand temple for a prayer service for the late king, attracting a large crowd. Medea notices the political games and remains wary of Eros’s true intentions, questioning his ability to comfort anyone. Your Throne Chapter 94 concludes with her speaking privately with the Queen of Othilei, asking if the remains she witnessed were truly those of her father.
Your Throne Chapter 95: Predestined Route
Your Throne Chapter 95 starts with Pell bringing Medea to a room and setting off alarm bells during the ritual. He goes ahead to say that all of the clergy and priests involved are on the side of the Pope. This truly raises the alarm bells at how close the relationship between Eros and the Pope is. Medea assures him she will investigate further.
In the meantime, the Queen is given warm hospitality and care. She wants to recall the past, so she goes to the lake, where she unexpectedly encounters Medea. They engage in conversation, leading her to ask if the Queen has some doubts about the authenticity of the remains she saw. The Queen confesses her doubts but claims that she leaves everything up to God. Medea learns that she truly believes in the oracle. Just as she is going to probe further, the Queen hugs her and commends her magnanimity. When she catches a glimpse of someone spying on them, she suggests they leave. Medea offers to pray for Othilei, which prompts the Queen to recognize her astuteness.
The scene shifts to the next day. Medea asks Pell whether he has heard the praises that have been sung for Eros on his special day. She thinks speaking the truth would ruin things and proceeds to do things her own way. Your Throne Chapter 95 ends with Eros standing solemnly on a coffin.
Your Throne Chapter 96: Family Frenzy
Your Throne Chapter 96 begins with Eros standing over the real body of the previous king. He laughs heartily at the thought that the Queen could picture a homeless man as her father. In the following scene, he visits his father, toggling between a facade of innocence and cold calculation. During their conversation, the emperor expresses pride in Eros, who feigns the attitude of a helpless child, which makes his father emotionally vulnerable.
Meanwhile, at the manor of Callista, Count Callista begs Psyche not to attend the ordination. He senses Eros is no longer a friend and suspects that the latter is behind his recent collapse. Psyche acknowledges this fact but promises she won’t be Eros‘s puppet. She goes outside and reassures herself that everything will be fine, but she was overcome with emotions about the state of her world. Just as she feels faint, Lira gives her shade with an umbrella, and some of her servants gather to comfort her. Having taken this support, Psyche began walking down with her attendants without knowing that the nanny was keeping a watchful eye on her.
At Solon‘s estate, a gentleman comes and introduces himself as Dion, the son of Medea‘s aunt, with some other relatives who have arrived for the ordination. Observing their sinful intentions, she welcomes them with a wicked twinkle in her eye. However, it is another matter that,, without any forewarning, she smashes a glass of wine on someone‘s head to declare that she has gone nonsensical, concluding Your Throne Chapter 96.
