The Marionetta webtoon gets more interesting with each update, and with this one, we will complete Season 1. In the previous article, we saw how Julia followed Tonny and was given the strange dagger by the monster in the attic, and he killed Grandpa! Let’s see what happens with Julia in Marionetta Chapter 41-48.
Marionetta Chapter 41: The God of Life?
Marionetta Chapter 41 begins with Julia confessing that she knows how to kill Tonny. She has his dagger. She went to convince Tonny to save the Ah’kon, but she saw him stabbing Grandpa with a strange dagger. Julia then freaks out and tells Sahid, she followed him to see what else he was hiding. And then she saw the monster in the attic. Sahed gets surprised and grabs Julia, asking if what she said was true. Julia confirmed and said she made a deal with him. Sahed laughs happily, saying he had been trying to meet that God for a while now. Julia might be the God of Life. If he could summon him, then they would have already been free a long time ago, so Julia has to do it. She definitely has to kill Tonny.
The colonel Amelia seems pissed and from the other Ah’kon testimony she gets to know the circus is hiding two more 3 eyes and she decides to visit them, ending Marionetta Chapter 41.
Chapter 42: The Best Friend ShowdownÂ
Marionetta Chapter 42 starts with Kamille trying to get close to Rainah and asking why she was avoiding her, she had done anything wrong. Rainah lashes out at Kamille to take a hint and leave her alone. She knows that Kamille had been trying to get close to her to be closer to Sahed, and she is not going to let her use her that way. If Kamille wants to flirt with Sahed, she can do that, but not to pull Rainah in between them.
Kamille, angry and hurt, realises only one person could have said Rainah that nonsense. She rages off to find Julia about to start practicing throwing knives at her. She makes fun of Julia’s clown costume and asks her why she did that. Julia said she was giving Rainah a heads up, because she knows Kamille will leave Rainah, too, like she left Julia. Kamille fights back, saying that Julia and she share a room. Julia says, but she even forgot her birthday. Kamille just says Julia needs to make more friends and not be glued to her 24/7. Julia says she doesn’t want to make friends with the circus freaks.
Kamille says she likes Rainah, not Sahed, and Julia’s forbidden thoughts about him break the dam. Julia says she understands what Kamille says and gets they need different things from the friendship, ending Marionetta Chapter 42.
Marionetta Chapter 43: A Love Confession
Marionetta Chapter 43 starts with Julia making up her mind to kill Tonny and make it seem like a freak accident during the knife throwing, cause she cannot do it when he sleeps. Kamille finally works up the courage and enters Rainah’s tent, telling her she did come to her for hidden motives. That Kamille liked Rainah from the start, and that’s why she joined the circus. Rainah gets angry at the confession and condemns Kamille for being foolish for throwing away her life for such an insignificant reason, and that Kamille had no idea what she did, and when she realizes it, she will hate Rainah.
Rainah runs with tears in her eyes. On the other side, we see the researchers arrive in the circus, ending Marionetta Chapter 43.
Chapter 44: A Kill?
In Marionetta Chapter 44, Julia loves the dress made by Kamille for the clown act. She decides she will kill Tonny during the act. Sahed pulls her into a corner and asks if she has prepared herself. Julia realised Sahed was hesitating, Julia asked Sahed was not gonna throw her away after this was done right, that he was not just using her. Sahed denies her accusations, saying he had no intention. Sahed says that Julia is not going to like to spend decades stuck in the circus like them, and that killing Tonny was the right decision. Julia feels she doesn’t have much time, as her time limit is one year according to her contract.
Sahed says if Julia doesn’t want it on her concise, he can kill Tonny, but Julia refuses, saying only she has to do it. Sahed calls Julia brave.
During knife throwing while the researchers are watching, Julia gathers up her courage and throws the special knife straight at Tonny’s head, and is horrified at the blood. Others comfort her, saying they are immortal anyway and it’s fine, ending Marionetta Chapter 44.
Chapter 45: Sahed Gets Spotted
Marionetta Chapter 45 starts with Tonny still moving even after having a knife straight at his eye. Julia, to salvage the situation, says to the crowd that this was all an act and welcome to the horror circus show.
Other people join and start doing random horror stuff. Some take out their eyeballs, some slash their head and keep it on their hand. Tonny takes the knife out of his head and realises it. The crowd starts performing acts when Sahed comes out and takes Julia away, saying they have to run to that deity of life now to be safe. But the researchers spot him and his third eye, ending Marionetta Chapter 45.
Season Finale
Marionetta Chapter 46 starts as Sahed and Julia try to leave to hide in the deity’s room, and the door closes on them. Sahed says they need to leave quickly before Tonny comes to find out. Tonny just enters the room, asking if they are trying to run away after trying to kill Tonny.
Tonny asks Sahed to be tied up in a different room. Sahed asks Julia to remember her promise and not to tell them anything. Tonny blames Julia, saying that she is a spy from the government come to kill him. Kamille speaks up for Julia, saying that she is not like that and must have had a very good reason, and not to speak to her best friend like that. Tonny tells others to look at Julia and Kamille together, separately from Sahed.
Julia apologized to Kamille for her previous action and said she couldn’t believe she tried to kill someone. And she tells about her circumstances to kill Tonny otherwise die in a year. On the other side, the researcher says not many three-eyed people have ever escaped. However, her grandfather was very fond of a boy with three eyes, a guy called Sahed, who disappeared, ending Marionetta Chapter 46.
Marionetta Chapter 47: Season 2
Marionetta Chapter 47 is the first chapter of season 2, and here we get a flashback of when Sahed was a child in a village filled with Ah’kon, and Steinsheimer came to the village and took some children to help in the war with research.
Then we see Tonny has been locked up in a cage and throwing a fit when Rainah comes to give him food. He demands that Tonny and Rainah say that Tonny refuses to meet him till he calms down and has a change. He asks about Julia, but Rainah refuses to speak up. As Rainah leaves, Tonny cuts his palm with a ceramic shard and starts to draw a seal with his blood, ending Marionetta Chapter 47.
Marionetta Chapter 48: A Fire
In Marionetta Chapter 48, we see in this chapter that Sahed has started a fire in the cage, and no amount of water is stopping it. Tonny finally comes around and asks him what he is going and not be a sadist to himself and be in pain. Sahed asks Tonny to let him go, and he will stop. Tonny is pissed off and said he is not calming down even after 2 months. Tonny voiced out his frustration after all Sahed had tried to kill him. Sahed said Tonny wasn’t helping his tribe; that’s why he has to do it. If Tonny had just given him the seal, he wouldn’t have gone this far.
After Tonny leaves, Rainah comes to him, reprimanding him for having a fit. Sahed starts a small fire again and melts the iron bars and runs, thinking, Why is he so worried about Julia? Julia doesn’t even like the Ah’kon. But Sahed feels he had pushed Julia to do it even when she was in a panic and clearly didn’t want to do it. Sahed runs and opens the door, demanding to know when he sees Tonny and Julia having a fine conversation, with Julia accounting for him, ending Marionetta Chapter 48.
