Lore Olympus Chapter 164: The Pomegranate Tree

Lore Olympus Chapter 164: The Pomegranate Tree
Hades

In Lore Olympus Chapter 164, Hades takes Persephone to Tartarus. Hades explains that Tower 4 is a gateway to various afterlife realms, including New Tartarus, built for the growing human population and increased crime. He assures Persephone that they’re only stopping to visit briefly. He insists she should know the reality of being with him to avoid painful surprises later. Upon arrival, they meet souls who are in reality deities. Persephone shares honey with them, sparking interest among the deities. Later, he leads her to an enchanted pomegranate tree and recounts his rise to power.

Hades recalls his struggle to claim the kingship of the Underworld, initially rejected by its denizens. With no aid from Zeus and Kronos regaining strength, he was pressured to act quickly. Erebus’s voice from the pomegranate tree (named Erebus) offered him true power at a price: consuming its fruit for an unknown sacrifice. Hades, young and desperate, questioned what he would lose. Erebus ominously stated, “You will have to wait and see.” The Lore Olympus Chapter 164 concludes with Hades on the brink of eating the fruit, hinting at the grave consequences to come.

Chapter 165: Meeting Hecate for the First Time

Hades and Persephone
Hades and Persephone

In Lore Olympus Chapter 165, a flashback shows a young Hades awakened by a girl calling his name. He recalls forgetting about his father, who was expecting his company. The girl revealed, as Hecate mentions, that she gave his father a puzzle to occupy him. When asked how it feels to be King of the Underworld, Hades admits his head hurts, satisfying her.

In the present, Hades confides in Persephone, revealing that he becomes weak if away from the Underworld for over two weeks and cannot have children. He shares this to prevent her from feeling deceived. Persephone hugs him and, after a moment, mentions she’s hungry. As they leave, she asks if anyone else has eaten the pomegranate; Hades replies that only he has.

Later, at Hades’ house, Persephone wonders if marriage would make her a true queen. He explains that while her title would earn respect from the citizens, true recognition from the domain requires more. Persephone notes she doesn’t have a photo of him and wants to take one. The scene shifts to Eros, who, just as he’s about to take a shower, is interrupted by Ampelus. She announces his mother has a major job for them in the human world, marking a new development.

Daphne and Thanatos

In Lore Olympus Chapter 166, Eros emerges from the bathroom, towel-clad, confirming their human world checklist with Ampelus. Noting its length, Eros approaches Aphrodite, who dismisses his concern. Humour arises as his father jokes about using the fax machine as a popcorn maker.

Privately, Eros seeks Psyche’s whereabouts, expressing frustration over years of tasks for Aphrodite, admitting he longs to reunite with Psyche. Aphrodite cryptically states he’s close, then departs. Daphne, meanwhile, worries Demeter will react harshly upon learning Persephone’s location. Echo notes Hera’s low spirits, prompting her sons’ planned visit to uplift her. Thanatos offers Daphne a ride to the human world.

Hermes and Artemis converse at Hermes’ home, where Artemis alludes to a troubling incident involving Apollo and Persephone. Hermes starts piecing together overlooked signs. Apollo later arrives, and Hermes informs him about Artemis’ visit and her distress, urging him to speak with her. Hermes probes him about a past movie night at Artemis’s house.

The Lore Olympus Chapter 166 ends forebodingly: “Three gods, one nymph, and one mortal disguised as a nymph embarks on separate trips to the human world. These encounters, far from ordinary, foreshadow disastrous outcomes. One soul will not return to Olympus.”

Chapter 167: Hephaestus’ Visit to Hades

In Lore Olympus Chapter 167, Hephaestus visits Hades, showcasing updates to the Pomegranate operating system with a new hologram feature for lighting control. Hades notices Hephaestus distracted by Persephone and suggests an introduction. Though reluctant, he agrees after Hades’s insistence. Persephone arrives, making him uneasy. Hades praises him as the mind behind Underworld technology, impressing her. The scene shifts as Ares interrupts, looking displeased by the attention Hephaestus receives.

Apollo visits his mother, seeking Artemis, who hasn’t been home. The conversation turns to Persephone, with his mother coldly noting her disapproval of his obsession. She challenges him, hinting at his delusions and claiming Persephone is in love with Hades. Frustrated, he accuses his mother of not helping him.

Her suggestion is a formal approach involving Zeus. Apollo admits to an argument with Zeus, who now refuses to speak with him. To help, his mother offers a bird from the Underworld, suggesting it may restore his favour with Zeus. Grasping at straws, Apollo takes the bird, knowing he must use this gesture to regain his support amidst the growing conflict with Persephone and Hades.

Eros and Ampelus

In Lore Olympus Chapter 168, Hephaestus and Ares discuss their mother, Hera, who is unwell and wishes to see them. Hephaestus shows concern, while Ares displays frustration mixed with worry. Meanwhile, Eros and Ampelus discuss their tasks in the human world. Spotting Artemis, Eros admits wanting to speak with her but expresses frustration over their conversations, unable to reveal the truth and ease her suffering. Ampelus empathizes, understanding the weight of secrets.

A vulnerable moment unfolds as Eros questions why he knows so little about Ampelus. She hesitates, but his gentle insistence prompts her to share. She recounts how she never intended to befriend Aphrodite, Eros’s mother but did over time. Ampelus reflects on her family and reveals the deep pain of losing the love of her life, a loss that still haunts her with unspoken regrets. Her emotional revelation moves her to tears. Eros leans in and kisses her in a heartfelt response, closing the Lore Olympus Chapter 168 on an intimate moment of connection and mutual sorrow.

Chapter 169: Apollo Got Shot By A Hate Arrow

Lore Olympus Chapter 169 opens with Thanatos arriving in the human world alongside Daphne. She starts by asking him what it’s like to be the God of Death, expressing curiosity about whether it is sad or frightening. He responds thoughtfully, explaining that it’s an experience that varies. Sometimes, it’s serene and gentle, while at other times, it’s chaotic or deeply sorrowful. She follows up by asking whether he believes that dying is painful for mortals. He reassures her that they don’t really remember the pain once mortals pass over. His curiosity is piqued, and he asks why she is so interested in death. She brushes off his question, claiming she’s simply curious.

To brighten the mood, she gives Thanatos snacks she made for him to enjoy while he works. As Daphne wanders off to explore the human world, she makes her way to a meadow where the flower nymphs reside, immersing herself in the tranquil surroundings.  While walking, she sifts through the packet he gave her and finds a hair clip. Delighted, she places it in her hair and strolls through the field. Suddenly, she hears Apollo’s voice calling her name. Before she can react, she spots Apollo struck by one of Eros’s arrows and realizes that Ampelus shot him by accident. Lore Olympus Chapter 169 ends with this startling revelation, leaving a sense of suspense for what is to come.

Lore Olympus Chapter 170: Ampelus/Psyche

Eros and Psyche

Lore Olympus Chapter 170 opens with Eros kissing Ampelus, who is actually Psyche in disguise. Shocked, she runs from Eros, feeling heartbroken, assuming he loves Ampelus. Overwhelmed, she weeps, convinced he will never know her true self. Observing Artemis and Apollo, she recalls the legend of the arrow of hate. She plans to shoot Apollo to reveal his true nature to her. As Daphne approaches Apollo, she seizes the moment and releases the arrow, striking him.

Apollo, enraged and confused, accuses “Ampelus” of the attack and wounds her, drawing blood that triggers Psyche’s transformation. Eros, witnessing this, realizes Ampelus is Psyche and, filled with remorse, pleads for her forgiveness. She tearfully asks if he finally sees her. Meanwhile, Apollo, affected by the arrow, turns to Daphne, trying to explain. Aware of his deceit, she rejects him, biting his hand and escaping.

Psyche admits to Eros that using the arrow was a mistake. He warns her of the danger—its impact on gods is severe, revealing too intense truths. He insists they must leave quickly as they face the fallout, and with that, Lore Olympus Chapter 170 ends.

Chapter 171: Daphne Transforms into a Tree

Lore Olympus Chapter 171 opens with Eros and Psyche desperately searching for Daphne and Apollo. Despite their efforts, they realize that they are nowhere to be found. The scene shifts to Apollo, who is also on the hunt for Daphne. He intends to convince her that what she witnessed was a misunderstanding. However determined and resolute, she keeps running from him, shouting that there is nothing he can say to change her mind. She declares she knows what he did to Persephone, has seen into his heart, and intends to reveal everything.

As Daphne attempts to escape, Apollo uses his power and shoots Eros with one of Eros’s arrows. This action incapacitates him, allowing Apollo to focus on Daphne once more. He approaches her while playing his instrument and singing praises to her in an attempt to charm her. Realizing the severity of her situation, she runs faster, aware that the Sun God now poses a direct threat to her life.

Desperate to survive, Daphne makes a plan: if she can reach Demeter’s sacred ground, she can hibernate there, ensuring her safety. Although she knows Demeter is currently missing, she hopes for her return in a few days, which would be her only chance for salvation. Apologizing to Thanatos in her thoughts, she transforms herself into a tree.

The scene transitions to Thanatos waiting for Daphne at the location of their planned date. As time passes and she doesn’t show up, he feels hurt and prepares to leave. Just as he is about to depart, Echo arrives, leading him to the spot where she has turned into a tree. Lore Olympus Chapter 171 ends sombre, leaving readers with the emotional weight of Daphne’s transformation and the uncertainty surrounding her fate.
