Holding You Close Chapter 1: Shocks, Crushes & Chaotic Currents

Electrifying Confession Chapter 1 starts with Hari Jeon, a girl with a heart condition and a history of hospital rooms and patient-shared birthdays, entering her new school late, already exhausted and already sick of pity. Having come back to Korea after a life-altering surgery in the U.S., she’s looking forward to one thing: reconnecting with Jeong-Won, her childhood BFF, swimming prodigy, and first love.
Their reunion? Awkwardly sweet. Jeong-Won confesses she never changed her number, thinking she’d call. But before any emotions can arise, in dances, Seula Lim—his girlfriend, exquisite, dynamic, and infuriatingly kind. Hari’s heart monitor reveals her racing emotions, beeping wildly at every flicker. Things only get worse when she meets Yura Baek, a late arrival with a bruised hand and a ‘troubled bad boy’ vibe straight out of her favorite K-dramas.
The next day, strange things begin—light bulbs flicker, vending machines malfunction, and her dreams become vivid, almost like Jeong-Won had confessed before being yanked away. Weird coincidence? Not really. All her heart spikes seem to come with actual electric shocks. When Jeong-Won flirts, chaos follows. When Baek jokes about her not-so-secret crush, power outages, she’s starting to see… her heart may be hardwired for more than love.
Electrifying Confession Chapter 1 ends with Baek nonchalantly saying, “calm your heart,” just as another shock of electricity blackens the room out.
Chapter 2: The Curse, the Crush, and the Candy Chaos

With Yura Baek carelessly letting the emotional bomb drop, Hari’s electric outbursts are all because she’s in love with Jeong-Won. Electrifying Confession Chapter 2 starts. Cue panic mode: she takes off like a rom-com heroine in the middle of a crisis. As if things weren’t bizarre enough, she overhears a group of girls talking about a love curse connected to two trees fused near the gym. It’s said that carving a crush’s name into the tree could make love mutual-but it went wrong, unleashing chaos instead. Hari’s face drains. Great. She thinks she’s cursed now.
Undeterred, she hastens to the infirmary to diagnose her symptoms (a.k.a. Google panic diagnosis). Just then, Jeong-Won arrives—cute as all get out—with her go-to candy. Classic heartthrob move. But the sugar high is nothing to the jump in her heart rate. As he edges closer, worried, she panics and lightly slaps him—don’t worry, it’s not a hard slap, it’s not like she’s some little girl anymore. He leaves, slightly baffled. Her heart beats fast, lights start to flash, and you know it—chaos comes back like it’s nothing.
Cue sobs and stomp… until Baek saunters in like a brooding K-drama second lead. He takes her hand, tells her to snap out of it (literally), and like magic, the chaos ceases. Hari, wide-eyed, pleads with him to instruct her in how to master it. He agrees… on one cheeky proviso; let him borrow the curse.
With Hari suspended between supernatural chaos and a mysterious agreement she wasn’t aware of, Electrifying Confession Chapter 2 concludes.
Electrifying Confession Chapter 3: Heartbeats, Havoc & That One Trouble Maker

Electrifying Confession Chapter 3 starts with Baek lecturing Hari on the “curse” theory, telling him that it’s not magic but just strong, one-sided feelings that create emotional force. When her heart goes out to Jeong-Won, the world around her just blitzes. Hari dismisses it as K-drama hooey until Beak materializes and— ka-BOOM!—Somebody’s phones magically start getting charged. Okay, okay, he might be right.
Baek says the only solution? Make it a two-way love affair or move on. Easier said than done. But here’s the twist: Every time Baek puts a hand on her, her heart weakens. He laughs it off, saying it’s probably because she cannot stand him. His deal? Let him ‘steal’ the curse when he needs it, and he will help her sort out with it.
For the rest of the day, Baek teases her like a nagging mosquito with sarcasm. She gets free when her dad comes to pick her up (who thinks Baek is her boyfriend for the meantime). She panics—no way! But later, she thinks maybe Baek isn’t the one her dramas portrayed him to be as the villain. Baek follows her over the next few days…helping, taunting, being a perpetual ray of annoyed sunshine.
The next day, Hari almost collides with Jeong and Seula and narrowly escapes. Jeong notices. Later, Seula approaches Hari, asking her about the ignoring phase and to end it. As Jeong cares about her. But Hari’s emotional torrent returns, and a massive clock almost squashes Seula–until Hari rescues her at the last instant. As rain falls, a thunderbolt strikes, and Baek shows up, takes her hand, and suddenly, everything calms down.
Electrifying Confession Chapter 3 ends with Baek short-circuiting her storm, just as it had about to go off.
Chapter 4: Terms, Touch, Too Much Attention

With Hari overthinking about Yura Baek’s deal like he’s in the middle of a business merger, Electrifying Confession Chapter 4 starts. And then, at last, she summons him out for a weekend to a quaint café and whacks him with a thorough contract. Yes, an actual paper with conditions: Baek must have a hold of her hand whenever needed, warn her that he’s going to “use” the curse, stick with her till it’s over, and above all, keep her one-sided love for Jeong forever under wraps.
Baek chuckles teasingly about the hand-holding clause that, of course, makes Hari turn bright red like a tomato. But he signs it anyway. When she asks why he knows so much about the curse, Baek’s cheerful demeanor drops. He evades the question and quickly exits, sprinkling a dash of enigma to his already wild energy.
By the next school day, Baek takes his job of hand-holding way too seriously. He’s holding her hand in the hallway, classrooms, everywhere–fuelling a rumor mill. Classmates gossip amongst themselves, wondering if they are together or if Baek is just messing with her for kicks. Getting overwhelmed, Hari asks him to dial it down with the PDA. But just as that, Jeong appears, and her heart starts racing. Like clockwork, Baek takes her hand. Jeong notices.
To make matters worse, the universe puts Hari into a lunch table sitcom – she winds up sitting with Jeong, Seula, and Baek. Tossing jealousy and awkwardness in between bites, she silently screams: Why am I here? Electrifying Confession Chapter 4 closes with her between her crush, a contract, and a handsy chaos magnet, Yura Baek.
Electrifying Confession Chapter 5: Friends, Fumbles, and Flash of Trouble

With Hari slowly noticing that whenever she is with Yura Baek, the whole world seems to steer clear of them, Electrifying Confession Chapter 5 starts. It’s like he’s got an invisible “Do Not Disturb” sign on him. She begins to think if Yura is annoying when Jeong and Seula suddenly join them for lunch and clear the awkwardness.
Seula and Hari had already worked out their misunderstandings earlier on, but now Seula sees Hari and Yura holding hands as if it were the most natural thing to do. Confused but intrigued, Seula asks when the two became this close. Before Hari can even blink, Yura cheekily says, “We just connected.” He even mentions that Hari told him to stay right by her side 24/7, which makes Hari embarrassed to tears. She protests, afraid that everyone will misunderstand.
Next up is Jeong, chill as always, saying that he’s happy Hari’s not alone anymore and nonchalantly adds that if she ever needs help, she should call him because “I know you better.” Uh… excuse me, sir? Are you saying this right in front of your girlfriend?
Yura breaks the awkward silence by softly caressing Hari’s face and totally catches her off guard, and then tells her to go with him. As they leave, Hari thanks him for all the chaos wrangling. And Baek, a wicked glint in his eye, simply retorts, “Then use the curse.” Right now.”
Electrifying Confession Chapter 5 wraps up with Hari stuck between old emotions, the new feelings, and Baek’s unpredictable lightning-in-a-bottle vibes.
Chapter 6: Shocks, Suspicions & The Locked Door

Electrifying Confession Chapter 6 begins with Yura throwing Hari yet another unexpected challenge, she tells her to turn on the courtyard speakers using her emotions. Particularly, the extreme, fluttery turmoil she feels when she sees Jeong. Confused but resolute, Hari has a go… and ka-boom, the speakers start glowing like it’s magic. Yura nonchalantly pats her head like she has just aced a cute superhero challenge.
Then, Yura continues to encourage her to practice with her “curse,” but it’s not all rainbows and unicorns—his terrible gadgets keep getting burnt. Hari has no idea if this whole heart-powered chaos control business even works or if Yura is making it up as he goes along.
Her doubts grow when two girls grab her and ask if she’s close with Yura and tell her to keep her distance from him, especially when alone. Just as Hari can ask what that ominous warning means, Yura drops out of nowhere, and the girls disappear. He tells her the teacher wants to see her, and as they walk down the hallway, her mind is racing with the warning.
Then she eavesdrops on a conversation—some guys are scheming up the idea to gang up on Jeong because they are jealous. Hari lunges forward – Yura’s arm snakes out, hauling her back into a cramped storage closet as footsteps approach. Just as she tries to make heads or tails of it, the door slams shut. She frantically turns the knob with all her might to no avail.
Her heart racing and with no escape, Hari had wondered if this was the thing those girls were talking about. Could Yura be dangerous?
With Hari alone in a room with Yura, trapped, unclear if she should trust her erratic partner or fear him, Electrifying Confession Chapter 6 ends.
Electrifying Confession Chapter 7: Locked Doors & Unlocked Feelings

Electrifying Confession Chapter 7 starts with Hari firmly insisting that someone will come and rescue them. Yura, ever the pragmatist, reminds us that school is almost out and nobody comes to the lab this late. Cue panic mode. He tells her to call someone using her smartwatch, only to be told she left her phone at home. His phone’s dead too. Classic.
Rather than panicking, Yura surprisingly watches her heart rate not rise, not even when she caught those boys plotting to beat Jeong up. He tells her to tap into her “emotional Wi-Fi” to open the door. Hari hesitates, fearing she might blow an electrical fuse in the lab equipped with a lot of sensitive equipment. But Yura softly reminds her of his vow to never let her curse harm anyone and tells her to trust him and try.
Stiffening herself, Hari goes to the door. As she concentrates, a memory comes of small Hari near drowning, and Jeong leaping in to rescue her. That moment, all those years ago, was when she fell for him. Driven by that memory, the door unlocks with a thud – a literal one. The lock bursts, and Yura pulls her to safety, but gravity is not on their side.
They tumble… and accidentally kiss. Silence. Shock. Awkward eye contact.
Yura stammers an attempt to apologize for the accidental smooch when—hey!—they’re interrupted by someone showing up. Electrifying Confession Chapter 7 is wrapped up with a blend of sparks, confusion, and the world’s own worst timing for third wheeling.
