Miso’s Eaternal Nocturnal follows an insomniac girl and a dream eater who meet by chance and complement each other; it can either be a dream come true or a nightmare. Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 1-8 introduces us to our main characters, Dae or Daemon, our dream eater, and Eve, our female protagonist. They both are troubled by their incomplete sleep, but when they encounter each other in a dream, they are pleasantly surprised to experience a full night for the first time. As the story unfolds, Eve also becomes a ghost singer, adding another layer to her character. Let’s see how their journey develops.

Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 1: The Insomniac
Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 1 opens with Eve talking to her mother on FaceTime late at night; as they wrap up their conversation, Eve wishes her mother goodnight, but not before her mother offers various home remedies and advice for falling asleep faster. For a very long time, Eve has struggled with insomnia, trying every method she can think of – counting sheep, sleep meditation guides, sleeping pills, giving up caffeine, exercising, aromatherapy, etc – but nothing seems to work. Suddenly, a mysterious black shadow man appears, performing some magic that makes Eve have a wonderful dream, and she is happy that she has finally fallen asleep. Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 1 ends with Eve’s eyes locked with a man in her dream.
Chapter 2: A Disagreeable Face
Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 2 opens with Eve sitting in a café sipping her boba tea and feeling refreshed with a good night’s sleep. She searches for a job. After a while, Cherri, her friend, a popular YouTuber with around two million followers, joins her in the cafe. Eve has always felt a pang of envy towards her cuteness and charisma, unlike her, who has dark circles and a tired appearance. As they chat, Cherri opens up to Eve about her insecurities. And how the thought of being erased from people’s lives scares her. In an unexpected turn, Cherri asks Eve for help, proposing that she become a ghost singer for her channel. In short, people will know Eve’s voice as Cherri’s, to which Eve hesitantly agrees. She agreed to this because she wanted to support her friend while grappling with her own insecurities, ending Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 2.

Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 3: Chances
Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 3 opens with Cherri and Eve engaged in a conversation that Eve finds uninteresting. Cherri casually mentions that she gave Eve’s address to Mr. Lee, which annoyed her. After the call ends, Eve reflects on the potential benefits of becoming a “ghost singer.” She could have more time for herself and, more importantly, help fix her sleep schedule. Determined to turn things around, she goes to bed early that night. However, despite her efforts, she finds herself wide awake until 3 a.m. Frustrated, she gets up and settles on the sofa, gazing at the night sky. The black shadow man returns to her and performs his magic, ending Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 3.
Chapter 4: Beautiful Dreamer
Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 4 opens with Eve trapped in a nightmare, where her parents fail to support or encourage her singing talent; instead, they relentlessly push her to focus more on academics. She finds herself applying for a sociology major, a choice that leaves her feeling unfulfilled, as her true passion lies in singing. Even in her job, she faces criticism, adding to her sense of inadequacy for not being capable enough. Later, Cherri asks her to lend her voice.
Amidst the chaos, she hears a voice asking what she truly wants to be. When she tries to take control and fix her circumstances, she feels like she keeps failing. The scene shifts, and Eve finds herself in a circus, walking on a tightrope at height, making people happy by following everyone’s orders and doing what they want. As Eve is about to fall off the rope, the shadow man grabs her by the waist and protects her, ending Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 4.
Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 5: The Dream Eater
In Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 5, we delve into the mysterious figure of the black shadow man. He is revealed to be a dream eater named Daemon, or Dae. He manifests his dream eater form at night, accompanied by his buddy Trip. When Dae consumes dreams, he can read people’s emotions, whether sensing their insecurities, unaddressed fears, or hidden longings. However, after consuming so many dreams, he finds that now people have gone bland for him, because of which he has been waking up unsatisfied and hungry. But after he ate Eve’s dream, he has been waking up feeling better than ever. He made a second visit to confirm it, and they both woke up feeling amazing. Maybe this is forming some new connections, ending Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 5.
Chapter 6: Delivery Boy
Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 6 opens with us knowing that Dae has been waking up feeling tired lately because he has not had enough dreams, but after visiting Eve’s dream twice, he has been waking up feeling great twice in a row. Dae has questions about why only she gets ready for work. He comes to the living room and greets his roommates Alex, his cousin Cark, and Benji, his other roommates. When he is off to work, he tells the reader that nobody knows he is a dream eater. He has committed to never consume the dreams of his close ones. Dae likes to surround himself with strangers in both his dream eater and waking forms. Because of this, he has no commitments or hard feelings, and he likes freedom. Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 6 ends by highlighting the fact that Eve is the problem.
Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 7: The Visitor
Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 7 opens with Eve waking up feeling fresh. The next minute, her happy face fades when she meets Mr. Lee at her doorstep. He came to deliver her the contract. Eve invites him inside. Mr. Lee gets straight to the matter of the contract. After she signs the contract, she is bound to follow all its terms. Each term is attached with penalties if she violates any of it. He even forbids her from discussing it with anyone. Mr. Lee hands her over the contract so she can read it and leaves. That same night, Eve plans on using this ghost singing gig to get back on her feet. Meanwhile, she looks for real jobs so she wouldn’t have to lie any longer about “making something of herself.” And here, Dae, in his ghost eater form, is waiting for Eve to sleep, ending Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 7.
Chapter 8: Tethered
Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 8 opens with Dae waiting for Eve to sleep for a week, but she doesn’t show any symptoms of sleeping. He names her LITTLE MISS NOCTURNAL. In the meantime, he ate dreams of plenty of people, but they did not help him much. One night he meets with another dream eater named V. V says to Dae that he knows how the dreams are not much filling for him nowadays. He suggests he consider leaving his human body and continue to live like a dream eater form for his entire life, away from the materialistic world problems. To which Dae refuses. Later, Dae visits Eve’s house and finds her on her bed, fast asleep, and he consumes her dream. This time Eve talks with Dae for the first time in the dream, concluding Eaternal Nocturnal Chapter 8.
