Down to Earth Chapter 216: No More Horns!
In Down to Earth Chapter 216, Zay apologizes about the mess she created and says she did not want Kade’s mother to see it. Worried, his mother looks at the shiny gems and asks if it’s glass, offering to help. Stopping her, Zay assures them she is fine and says Kade will help her. Getting back to his senses, Kade quickly agrees and shoos his mother off into the living room. The moment she leaves, he runs into Zay, hugging her tight. He asks if she’s okay and she runs him through what happened.
She was doing the laundry when her head started aching again. As she was holding it together, she heard his mother and ran into the bedroom. Panicking, she watched the crystals fall off her horns and helplessly waited till it all went off.
Kade apologizes for not being there for her and she assures him she’s fine now. Gathering the Zodianite in a pouch, he suggests hiding it away. At that moment, his mother pops up again and the two head to the living room. His mother hands her a beautiful golden heart-shaped locket which she loves immediately. She heads off, saying she dropped by to give the present. Once she’s gone, Zay asks Kade if they can go out, wanting to enjoy going out again, concluding Down to Earth Chapter 216.
Down to Earth Chapter 217: A Date
In Down to Earth Chapter 217, Zay is standing on their porch, enjoying the fresh air and her freedom. Kade, coming up behind her, asks if she’s ready. Smiling, she says she’s glad she lost the horns but is still nervous nonetheless. Assuring her he’s there for her at all times, the two head out towards a fancy restaurant. There, Zay is unsettled by a deer’s head on the wall.
Noticing, Kade asks if she’s fine but she brushes it off. He notes she’s wearing the locket his mother gave her and asks what she’ll put in it. She is about to reply when the waiter arrives with her food, cutting them off. She asks Kade if he’s heard from Cherri and, worriedly, he says she had not wanted to talk about it over text. Zay suggests going over to her place at which he texts Cherri, asking if they could drop by.
As he does so, Zay startles in her seat at the voices invading her head and she realizes she can still hear people’s thoughts. Kade, tells her Cherri replies that she’s not feeling up to it and then sees her panicking. Worried, he asks if she’s fine to which she says she can hear people again. She holds her head at the stream of thoughts and he quickly holds her hand, asking if she wants to get out.
A Beach Date
The scene shifts to the two on a beach, having take-out food. Guilty, Zay apologizes for ruining their date at which Kade laughs and assures her a peaceful beach is better than a crowded restaurant. Looking around, she sees a couple on the beach and feels uneasy. Hesitantly, she asks if Kade is sure about her and if he’s not wasting his time on an alien like her. She says she herself does not know what she is and admits she feels like she ruined his life. At that Kade wraps his arms around her, holding her close. He says she has no idea how much more enjoyable she has made his life, concluding Down to Earth Chapter 217.
