The popular manhwa Baby Tyrant has been capturing the hearts of readers ever since its first chapter. With endearing characters, stunning animation, and light whimsy, the Baby Tyrant webtoon is a cute, must-read for all. Let’s dive into Baby Tyrant chapter 33-40!
After dying a tragic death during a confrontation with her abusive father, Gyeoul Yoon was reborn. Reincarnated as Mabel, the beloved baby princess of the Ermaneali Empire, she inherits a life worlds apart (literally!) from her previous one. Threatened by the holy Abelardo empire, who believe Mabel to be the Seed of God, her new loving father, Emperor Estevan, abdicates his throne to her. Becoming Empress at the absurd age of one, Mabel tries to get herself dethroned. As she grows a little older, Mabel begins to realize her unique ability to communicate with living beings. She uses her gifts to protect herself and acquire a rare Power Crystal mine (to foil Duke Javier’s plans).
Baby Tyrant Chapter 33: The Demon Seeks Asylum

Baby Tyrant Chapter 33 begins as the Demon of Devlin requests an audience with Mabel. Utterly infuriated, Estevan says, “Do you truly expect me to grant you such a request?” As tensions run high, the Demon and Estevan prepare to duel. Before anything can happen, Mabel unexpectedly runs onto the scene yelling, “No! Dun fight!”
The Demon of Devil realizes Mabel holds the key to his freedom as he makes eye contact with her. He takes a few steps towards her, putting Estevan and Lisandro on high alert. With their swords resting at his neck, the Demon suddenly drops to his knees and bows. “I am seeking asylum in Ermaneau,” he says.
Before Estevan can kill him, Mabel accepts the Demon’s plea for refuge. The Demon of Devlin is taken to the dungeons. Later, Mabel visits him in his prison, tentatively saying, “H-Hewwo Demuhn of Debwin…” (Lisandro defeatedly thinks, ‘Good lord… Emperor Estevan will have my head for this.’) The Demon replies saying, “Please call me Aidan.” Encouraged by his response, Mabel begins interrogating him for his purpose in Ermaneau. “I did not wish to remain in Devlin,” he explains, “Because I no longer wanted to live like a dog.” Baby Tyrant chapter 33 concludes as Aidan admits to Mabel, “Veron Arthur Devlica. I… was his dog.”
Chapter 34: Mabel Takes Responsibility

Baby Tyrant Chapter 34 begins with Mabel questioning Aidan (the Demon of Devlin) in the dungeons. She learns that he was mind-controlled by Veron Devlica to deliberately go on a rampage. “I never want to go back there,” Aidan says.
When Mabel asks him why he came to Ermaneau, Aidan hides his true reason (Mabel’s aura helps him fight the curse) and instead explains that since Veron despises Estevan, seeing his “well-trained dog” defect to Ermaneau would enrage him. “I massacred my own empire’s army. There is nowhere for me to go back to,” Aidan says, solemnly. Mabel finds his loneliness familiar and understands his situation. She allows him to stay in Ermaneau under the condition that he listens to her.
Mabel also promises to get Aidan out of his chains, upon which he immediately breaks free from his cuffs easily. “Does that make you feel better?” he asks. Later, Mabel decides to check on Aidan. She takes the help of two rats to monitor Aidan in the dungeon. ‘Stay strong, Aidan’ she thinks, ‘I’ll get you out of that dungeon soon.’
As Mabel muses over the situation in her room, Estevan walks in. Estevan, worried about Mabel’s reckless behavior, says “Please promise me, that you will never go see him (Aidan) again.” Mabel refuses, saying “Imma take responsibility for Aiduhn!” Shocked by Mabel’s response, Estevan returns to his room thinking, “Why on earth has my dear Mabel taken such a liking to that foul villain?!” Baby Tyrant Chapter 34 concludes as Estevan thinks, “I suppose I’d better go see that damn Aiduhn.”
Baby Tyrant Chapter 35: Aidan Is Released

Baby Tyrant Chapter 35 begins as Estevan visits Aidan in his dungeon cell. Aidan is again interrogated for the reason for his stay in Ermaneau. However, this time, Aidan reveals the truth to him. “The day I was captured and brought here to Ermaneau, I ran into your daughter. That’s when the hold Veron’s curse had on me loosened.”
Aidan further explains that the closer he is to Mabel, the better. Estevan believes Aidan, although he doesn’t fully trust him yet. As Estevan leaves, he notices Mabel’s picnic basket at his feet. Mabel had left her chocolate cake outside Aidan’s cell as a gift. This act of generosity towards Aidan angers Estevan, adding fuel to the fire of his frustration.
Days later, Mabel ponders over the proximity of her second birthday. Laying under the sunny sky with Kit (her golden kitten Guardian Deity) Mabel sighs in disappointment. “…it’s almost been a year since I was crowned Emperor,” she says, “…all my attempts to be dethroned have failed!” The only thing she succeeded in was getting Aidan out of the dungeons. Estevan had finally given into Mabel’s pleas thinking, ‘Well, I suppose I couldn’t exactly leave him in there forever.’
At this year’s banquet, Mabel resolves to get dethroned no matter what. Baby Tyrant Chapter 35 concludes as Mabel, after being announced to the banquet, walks out with a determined look, ‘This year will be different… Mabel Gardenia Ermaneau’s journey to dethronement begins now!’
Chapter 36: Baby Tyrant

Baby Tyrant Chapter 36 begins as everyone bows for Mabel while she confidently walks to her throne. Taking her father’s hand, she sits in her seat and declares, “Lift your heads, all of you.”
At the end of the banquet, Mabel puts her plan into action. As each elite attendee presents Mabel with a gift, she acts unsatisfied and aloof. “Iss not ENOUGH!” she yells, and the word ‘enough’ reverberates across the hall. Banging her fist, she demands more presents hoping to get dethroned by being a greedy tyrant.
Marquess Gardenia approaches Mabel asking, “Your Majesty, did you find my gift lacking?” Mabel answers affirmatively, although inside, she feels terrible. Her grandfather looks upset for a second, then angrily yells out “I knew it!” He kneels in front of Mabel and begins listing ridiculously extravagant and over-the-top gifts. Kickstarting a chaotic mess of different voices presenting Mabel with their prized assets, Mabel turns to her father for help. However, Estevan, being the overly doting father that he is, ridiculously gifts Mabel an entire kingdom.
Later, in her room, Mabel cocoons herself into a blanket sadly thinking, ‘I failed again.’ Oscar walks in and wishes Mabel for her birthday. He gifts her a bracelet to match the previous year’s necklace. Along with his gift, Oscar gives Mabel a box of chocolates from Enrique and reads out a sweet letter written by him. Mabel gratefully realizes how much Oscar and Enrique truly care about her, ending Baby Tyrant Chapter 36.
Baby Tyrant Chapter 37: The Divine Artefact

Baby Tyrant Chapter 37 begins as Estevan ponders over Mabel’s birthday banquet. Satisfied with his preposterous gift, Estevan turns his attention to Mabel’s present for the next year. His eyes suddenly find a smooth white rock sitting in a luxurious velvet case. Gustaf explains it to be a divine artifact from Abelardo, a gift meant for Mabel’s birthday. Angrily, Estevan asks Gustaf to take it away and make sure Mabel never sees it. As the two of them leave, the rock mysteriously vanishes from its case.
Meanwhile, Mabel’s nanny tucks her into bed. As the lights are turned off and her nanny leaves, Mabel gets out of bed and rushes to her balcony. Previously, she received a letter from Aidan, about the rats, to appeared on her balcony in the middle of the night. At the right time, Mabel sees no one there except for a little pouch. Giggling, she realizes Aidan sent her a birthday present. Overjoyed with the gold coins, she skips back to her bed as Aidan watches from a tree above.
In the morning, Mabel rolls over in bed and bumps her head on a white rock. The second she touches it, energy courses through her. Tearing up with the uncomfortable feeling, Mabel goes to her Guardian Deity for answers. The cat tells her about the divine artifact and explains that it increased her abilities by bringing out her latent power. After figuring out the gift was from Abelardo, Mabel becomes wary and thinks, “What could they be planning?”
Later, in a council meeting, an issue of persistent drought in the West is brought up. Baby Tyrant Chapter 37 concludes as Duke Javier suggests holding a rain-calling ceremony to uplift the sentiments of the people and quieten the unrest among them.
Chapter 38: Mabel Goes West

Baby Tyrant Chapter 38 begins as Duke Javier explains his plan to the council. He proposes sending Mabel to make an appearance and distribute the relief goods. Estevan opposes this plan, stating that Mabel is too young to undertake such a strenuous duty. Mabel realizes that Duke Javier may have an ulterior motive for proposing his plan. She decides to accept her role and use it to her advantage. Mabel expertly says, “I’ll go on one condition. You are to prepare all the food for the starvin’ people of the West!” Catching her drift, Marquess Gardenia adds that the cost of water and relief goods should also be placed upon the Duke.
Later, preparations to leave the palace begin. Mabel realizes with wonderment that it will be the first time she leaves the palace. She also looks forward to meeting Aidan during the trip, who will be taken along due to the greater strength of the military accompanying the procession.
Oscar meets Mabel before they begin and reassures her that no harm will come to her. He promises to keep her safe. Enrique also meets the duo and explains that he will be accompanying his father on the trip. Lastly, Estevan lifts Mabel up into her carriage and vows to protect her from danger. Chapter 38 concludes as Mabel steps out into the sunlight to greet the people of the West.
Baby Tyrant Chapter 39: Rain Calling

Baby Tyrant Chapter 39 begins as Mabel scans the landscape before her and realizes the parched, drought-ridden environment is worse than she previously imagined. Looking upon the faces of the suffering men, women, and children, Mabel thinks that even in her previous life, she hadn’t seen a drought this severe.
Mabel resolutely looks up at the cloudless sky and concentrates hard. “Rain… please fall!” she thinks.
Suddenly dark clouds appear and thunder resonates through the humid air. Slowly, drops of rain begin to miraculously fall on the thirsty soil. Ecstatically, the people begin shouting in triumph. Estevan hurriedly shelters Mabel and urgently tells her to get out of the downpour. The people begin cheering for Mabel and praising her for bringing rain. Panicked with the attention, Mabel loudly thanks Estevan for the miracle and adeptly focuses the spotlight on him.
Meanwhile, in his tent, Duke Javier fumes over the incident. He takes his anger out on Enrique, reprimanding him for not being able to ‘entice’ Mabel. By defending Mabel and saying “Her Majesty is not your pawn, Father”, Enrique earns himself more harsh criticism. Duke Javier ultimately sends him away coldly saying, “Get out. I can’t stand the sight of you.”
Later, Estevan informs Mabel that the rain stopped and that they can go home. Mabel reflects on her past life, and how she had always envied other kids for going home to their loving families. She had neither a stable home life nor a caring family. She realizes that now she also has somewhere to call home. Baby Tyrant Chapter 39 ends as Esteven promises to get Mabel the best medicine once they reach home and Mabel quietly answers, “I dun like that bitter stuff.”
Chapter 40: Attacked!

Baby Tyrant Chapter 40 begins with Mabel and Oscar in their carriage. Mabel inquires about Aidan’s whereabouts shocking her big brother. She sits back, disappointed, as she realizes Oscar doesn’t know either. After a small break, the procession continues back to the palace. Estevan trusts Oscar to keep Mabel safe for the rest of the trip home saying, “I’m counting on you.”
Meanwhile, in his carriage with Lisandro, Aidan recognizes the imperial carriage’s escort. He is Viscount Dargo, who introduces himself to Mabel as Cicero. In the middle of the journey, a commotion is heard from outside. The procession is under attack. Oscar leaves the carriage to protect Mabel who stubbornly decides to go with him. ‘You dolt!’ she thinks, ‘You’re just a kid too!’
Judging by the estimated number of enemy enchanters, Oscar deduces that the Devlin Empire must be behind the ambush. Mabel holds Oscar’s hand as she protects the duo against incoming flame arrows with her powers. Baby Tyrant Chapter 40 ends as Mabel firmly thinks, ‘Don’t worry, Oscar. I’ll protect you!”
