A Savage Proposal Chapter 21: Liene and Lord Tiwakan’s Unexpected “Good News”

Liene and Tiwakan (Savage Proposal Chapter 21-25)
Liene and Tiwakan (Savage Proposal Chapter 21-25)

In A Savage Proposal Chapter 21, Princess Liene receives startling news from her counselor about the funeral preparations for the late high priest. At first, there was a small problem with the bell’s chain in the temple snapping, but it was soon repaired. However, the event turned out to be even weirder because a gigantic stone suddenly fell down from on high and destroyed the holy stairs, well, the only way down from the temple, trapping the priests and forcing them to postpone the funeral. The counselor nervously suggests that many suspect this disaster might be divine punishment, possibly because Liene did not attend the funeral, a rumor that even the priests reluctantly acknowledge.

Liene, inwardly amused, wonders if Lord Tiwakan had something to do with this strange event, speculating whether he hired a sorcerer to cause the chaos. She quietly delights in how the blame has shifted from the royal family to the high priests, even deciding to proclaim that the gods’ anger is justified since the high priest prevented her attendance. Later, Liene reflects on how long it has been since she felt any happiness or heard “good news.” Ironically, it is Lord Tiwakan who brings this unexpected relief by delaying the funeral. Her heart feels lighter despite the turmoil surrounding her kingdom.

Growing Tension Between Liene and Tiwakan

The scene shifts to a late-night visit from Lord Tiwakan himself. Covered in dirt and bearing injuries, he explains that the matter has been resolved. There is no evidence linking him to the temple incident, and he will cover the costs for repairs. He hesitates but then asks if he may start using the chamber next to Liene’s, a request she cautiously agrees to. The moment between them is tender yet charged. As Tiwakan asks permission to touch her, she allows only after tending to his wounds. Liene’s thoughts reveal a mix of wariness and reluctant affection, despite his roughness and possible motives for revenge. She finds herself strangely comforted by his presence. She resolves to keep these feelings in check. Reminding herself to treat their relationship as “nothing more than a baseless rumor” for now.

A Savage Proposal Chapter 22: Princess Liene’s Care

In A Savage Proposal Chapter 22, the story opens with Princess Liene gently tending to Lord Tiwakan’s wounds. Though his large hands make the injury seem minor, Liene quickly realizes the cut is deeper than it looks. She expresses concern, but Tiwakan brushes it off.

As she applies ointment and offers to wipe the dirt from his face, the atmosphere becomes charged. Tiwakan moves closer, and in a moment of quiet intimacy, Liene imagines them sharing a deep kiss, only to snap back to reality when he notices her blush and asks if she’s alright. The closeness between them is palpable, yet Liene tries to maintain her composure, asking him to stay still while she cleans his wounds.

A playful exchange follows about closing his eyes during the cleaning, but Tiwakan stubbornly refuses, teasing that he can see her just fine anyway. Suddenly, blood splatters, startling Liene and revealing that Tiwakan’s injuries are worse than she thought. Despite her worries, he insists it doesn’t hurt and encourages her to continue. The candlelight flickers out, plunging them into darkness. Tiwakan asks if he may touch her. Liene, caught off guard, questions his motives. He admits the reason is simple—when the boulder came flying over his head, he thought it would feel nice to touch her.

Liene notes how his hair is softer than expected and wonders if she has misjudged him. Tiwakan, surprised by her reciprocation, admits he didn’t expect her to touch him back. A Savage Proposal Chapter 22 ends with a shift in tone as Princess Liene faces the priests, who ask her to postpone her marriage.

A Savage Proposal Chapter 23: Divine Wrath And Royal Politics

In A Savage Proposal Chapter 23, tensions rise as Princess Liene confronts the accusations from Cardinal Milode. He claims that the gods are furious because she did not attend the late high priest’s funeral. The Cardinal storms into the palace at dawn, declaring that the divine wrath is the cause of recent misfortunes. Liene, however, challenges his claim, pointing out that it was he who barred her entry to the temple. He denies this point and insists that if the gods were truly angry, they would have punished the Tiwakan, not destroyed the sacred steps.

As the heated exchange continues, Liene feels an unexpected fatigue and a slight headache, wondering if it’s from staying up late, a long bath, or perhaps the lingering effect of Lord Tiwakan’s strong arms. Her thoughts reveal how deeply her encounters with Tiwakan affect her.

The Cardinal then delivers the real blow: He demands Liene postpone her marriage until the gods have cleansed the “barbarians” of their sins. Defying this divine will, he warns, would bring catastrophe. Liene suspects this obstruction is politically motivated, likely orchestrated by Grand Chancellor Lyndon, who opposes her union with Tiwakan. When she questions the Cardinal about how the gods’ blessing will be confirmed, he arrogantly claims it will come through him as their messenger.

The Lord Tiwakan Effect

At this moment, Lord Tiwakan enters the room, his presence immediately intimidating the Cardinal. The priest is visibly shaken and questions how the “barbarian” is allowed such freedom in the royal palace. Liene welcomes Tiwakan and calmly explains the Cardinal’s claim that the gods wish to thwart their marriage. With Tiwakan beside her, Liene feels empowered and challenges the Cardinal to clarify how long the delay will last. The Cardinal, now visibly scared, can only stammer that the marriage must wait for the gods’ blessing.

Tiwakan cuts through the tension with a sharp ultimatum, threatening to forcibly silence the Cardinal if he continues his obstruction. Liene supports him, insisting the doors remain shut. A Savage Proposal Chapter 23 ends with Liene demanding that the Cardinal explain once again why their wedding must be delayed.

A Savage Proposal Chapter 24 begins with Liene wearing a blank and shocked expression, stunned by how swiftly the funeral and wedding arrangements were settled. Lord Tiwakan confidently announces that Liene will attend the funeral. It will be held that very evening in the Palace Chapel, and that the royal wedding will proceed as planned. Liene marvels at how everything was secured without a single concession, surprised that Cardinal Milode was so easily intimidated. Tiwakan brushes off concerns about the money spent, assuring her he has ample resources and prefers she not worry about it. In her thoughts, Liene admires Tiwakan’s steadfastness and wonders what he truly hopes to gain from their marriage, deciding to hold on to this comforting feeling until Sir Weroz’s return reveals more.

Revenge of the Daughter of Arsac?

The scene shifts to Chancellor Lyndon, who is furious at his failure to delay the royal wedding. He declares that Cardinal Milode is no longer useful since he sided with Liene. He decides to replace the High Priest to obstruct the ceremony. His nephew, Kleinfelter, warns him of the consequences, but Lyndon dismisses his concerns and insults him.

Next, a mysterious man dressed in black appears and points at a man, asking Who is he? Identified by soldiers as the leader of the Tiwakan and revered as a god by his followers. An old man nearby is warned to step aside, but he remains lost in thought, pondering unfinished business and the lingering bloodshed.

Back with Liene, she prepares for the funeral dressed in mourning attire, noting the surprisingly large crowd drawn more by curiosity than respect. Her nanny warns her to be cautious of insults aimed at Lord Tiwakan, but Liene doubts he would lose his temper, admiring his imposing yet calm demeanor. While walking, an old beggar’s staff accidentally falls near her. When she warns him to be careful, he mutters a chilling prophecy: “Sins are repaid in blood. The daughter of Arsac shall soon spill blood.” The ominous words shock Liene, ending A Savage Proposal Chapter 24 on an eerie note.

A Savage Proposal Chapter 25 begins with Liene reeling from the old beggar’s cryptic warning about “spilling blood” and “geance” (likely vengeance). Before she can probe further, Lord Tiwakan arrives, causing the beggar to tremble.. Liene dismisses the encounter, but Tiwakan notices her unease, pressing her about her well-being. She insists she’s fine, though her mind races over the ominous prophecy.

The funeral begins, but chaos erupts when the priests realize High Priest Milode is missing. Junior priests scramble, claiming no one saw him after he entered the chapel. Just as panic sets in, Tiwakan’s advisor, Fermos, bursts in with a grim discovery: Milode’s body is inside the coffin. Liene immediately suspects Grand Chancellor Lyndon, but his baffled expression leaves her puzzled—did he not orchestrate this?

Lyndon seizes the opportunity, demanding an emergency Elder Council meeting to appoint a new High Priest. Liene, however, sees through his facade. With Tiwakan’s steadying grip on her hand, she realizes her newfound power under Tiwakan’s protection makes her a formidable opponent. Gone is the powerless princess; Liene vows to dismantle Lyndon’s schemes methodically, starting with exposing the killer. Meanwhile, Lyndon’s rage boils over in private as he berates his Kleinfelter for botching the body’s disposal. “You put the body in a coffin?!” he roars, revealing his own incompetence in covering the crime.

When a bizarre temple incident delays the funeral of the late high priest, rumors swirl that the gods are punishing Liene for her absence. Amused, she suspects Tiwakan might’ve orchestrated the chaos to shield her from scrutiny—and it works. The scandal shifts blame to the high priests, giving Liene rare breathing room. Tiwakan later appears, injured but calm, asking to move into the chamber beside hers. Their tension simmers into something more intimate as she tends to his wounds. Their closeness deepens during a candlelit exchange that leaves Liene both comforted and confused by his gentler side. Things escalate politically in Chapter 23, when Cardinal Milode storms in, accusing Liene of angering the gods and demanding her wedding be delayed. Tiwakan’s arrival turns the tide, silencing the Cardinal with his sheer presence. Liene holds firm, refusing to bow to religious manipulation.
