The last few chapters of Refund High School deal with Mook and Chiyeol. We see how the students are accusing Mook of being a cheater based on Throny’s allegation. However, thanks to the culprit’s footprint, Mook proved he was not guilty. Then, a very scared Waxy points to Chiyeol. Within a few seconds, the whole investigation turned into a horror scene as Chiyeol turned into the spirit we first saw in Chapter 6. Both Gunn and Mook jump in front of Chiyeol to protect Aru, but thanks to Fairy Kim for trapping Chiyeol. And, eventually, Chiyeol was sent to hell.
Now the Reincarnation High race is about to commence, and I’m rooting for Aru Kim. So let’s continue, and find out which team wins!
Refund High School Chapter 42: Reincarnation High Competition
Refund High School Chapter 42 begins with the students discussing the uniforms of different classes. Aru, Sehui and Mook really like their uniform. Automatically others like it, why? Because Aru said so! The teams are separated into two groups – Class 1 and 3 in the white team and Class 2 and 4 belong to the black team.
The competition commences, and the first event is a shouting competition, guess who wins it? Of course, the black teams because of our Mari. However, the black team lost the vine jumping competition because of Stretch’s height. But due to her height, the black team wins the candle-lighting competition.
Currently, both teams are at 4 points. The next and deciding competition is the infernal relay. Waxy steps forward as all he did in the past few days was run here and there for the bully. The relay starts and Aru from the black team and the cat-eared girl Yeohee (yes, the one who can’t stop hitting on Gunn) are neck to neck in the race. Let’s see who wins.
Refund High School Chapter 43: Wishing Spirits
Aru is determined to win but suddenly gets tripped over by Yeohee, though she doesn’t give up and hands Gunn the candle. The competition is now between Gunn and Waxy. Gun believes in himself and displays his maximum potential and with that team black wins. Everyone is so happy that their hard work finally paid off. On the other hand, Gunn finally confronts Yeohee and tells her to stop picking on Aru, even though they are not a couple anymore. And, if she really wants to help him, she should leave Aru alone.
The spirits of the future are now all over the sky and the school asks the students to catch it and wish what they want to have in their next life. Here’s a thing about Aru – she will never give up. Be it in the relay or on having a boyfriend, so she wishes to have a loyal boyfriend in the next life. Everyone is wishing for something but Aru notices Mook going into the restricted area. Suddenly, she sees a big dragon-like light appear in the sky. Is that what Mook is wishing for?
Refund High School Chapter 44: Mook’s Secret-Keeper
Refund High School Chapter 44 begins with a confused Mook wondering whether he should reveal his secret of being a sea serpent to Aru. He sees her struggling with a wounded knee and uses his superpowers to heal her. Impressed by this, Aru says, “Your secret will be safe with me. Also, there’s an afterparty going on in the auditorium, we should join that.”
Everyone is waiting for Aru in the auditorium and Mari is thinking to herself that she was no less than Yeohee in her past life. Aru is finally here with Mook and both of them are covered in dirt, awkward right? On the other hand, Gunn gets approached by his Ghostagram follower, learning the longboard, who asks him why he doesn’t post anymore. To which Gun replies, “I just don’t feel like it.” The follower motivates him to continue it and we see them longboarding.
Refund High School Chapter 45: Field Trip to Hell Begins
I’ve been so much into Refund High School that I along with the students didn’t even realize that it’s already been A YEAR!? Refund High School Chapter 47 begins with everyone talking about Gunn’s Ghostagram comeback. To appreciate his latest post, Aru also sticks a leaf on the board.
In the next scene, the student council distributes the lucky boxes to the winning team. Sua opens the box to find glasses and Sehui gets the building bricks. They are delighted with their prize whereas Mari calls her stationary gift junk.
On the other hand, Aru is shocked as she gets the memory capsule. After gulping it, she sees a scene from her childhood where her mom smacks her and asks her to go to bed and study, comparing her to the neighbour who gets good grades and also has a boyfriend. She snaps out of the scene understanding why her back hurts all the time and wonders how her mother is doing now.
Reincarnation High’s Field Trip
The history teacher is now in class with a big announcement – ‘A field trip to HELL!’ He further continues, “Prior to your reincarnation and enlightenment, you will learn the values of your soul so that you can understand the importance of not wasting a single moment of your next life!” The ethics teacher enters the room to explain how to escape the infernal spirit. If you are taking notes, all you have to do is hold your breath and the infernal spirit won’t be able to snatch your memory.
The students are excited to visit THE HELL. They all were seated on the bus when suddenly Mari and Sehui started feeling dizzy and nauseated. Mook explains it can’t be motion sickness because the bus hasn’t even started. Dicarius decides Mari and Sehui will travel in the air, yes you heard it right! Dicarius and Mr. Owl are now taking Sehui and Mari respectively, all the way into hell. (For a field trip of course!)
Refund High School Chapter 46: Hell of A Field Trip Part 1
Everyone has arrived at the hell-destination and now they’re waiting for Mari and Sehui to arrive. The history teacher announces that they will find 7 hells each representing a major sin and the hell we will visit today is the ‘Hell of Greed’. It reeks from those who were blinded by greed. Mari still feels a bit sick and the history teacher offers her an incense stick to make her feel better.
Mari feels even worse so she asks Aru to find her a secluded place. Soon Aru finds a lizard who is going on a different path so she asks Mari to follow it. They both inform Sehui that they will be right back and are going to the rest room but Sehui is in shock as there is no restroom nearby. The girls are now in the middle of a trench leading to five different paths and they cannot see the lizard anymore so I think they are lost. Worried Sehui informs Mook that they were supposed to go to the restroom but they’ve been away for a long time.
On the other hand, Aru and Mari hear a weird sound coming from behind and HOLA it’s the hell monster. The monster states the real monster is the one close to you who has taken many lives and here he comes. And then the homeroom teacher enters the scene. The monster says, “The evil reaper who collects souls of the living – beware!”

Refund High School Chapter 47: Hell of A Field Trip Part 2
In Refund High School Chapter 47, the girls are finally safe and the history teacher asks them to follow him. Aru and the girl gang are finally in their room and Mari realizes how gruesome hell is. But, Sua interrupts by saying how peaceful it is inside which is completely different from the outside’s situation. Aru then goes on to discuss what the spirit told about the history teacher and then Mari says it will be weird to believe a spirit. Aru wonders if he were actually the Grim Reaper then he wouldn’t have any time to teach them at the school.
Apparently, nobody is feeling sleepy and Mari drops the idea of getting fresh air around the hotel and opens the window. Suddenly, there was a large shadow outside scaring the hell out of her (pun intended) but to her surprise, it was the Chick and Stretch. They are also unable to sleep so they invite others to come outside and explore the place. However, Sehui is really scared and has a weird feeling about it but Mari being Mari, along with Aru goes outside.
Aru then feels a touch on her leg and as she turns behind it’s the same lizard she came across during the day. As she goes on to ask what is going on, the lizard spirit turns into a huge black and red colored spirit wrapping Aru’s body like a cloth. The chapter ends with this suspenseful scene.
Refund High School Chapter 48: Aru In Danger
In Refund High School Chapter 48, Sehui and others are really keen to find out what the mushroom-like substance is. Suddenly, a very high-pitched sound comes, bubbles and dust particles are all around and now we have a large black-coloured spirit again and everyone is tensed to their core. After that, everyone realizes Aru is not here. Everyone including Mook is now discussing how to find Aru (AGAIN!) So they decide that they should just go tell the teacher about this right now.
The black spirit with wings is taking Aru to a distinct place. On the other hand, Mook is looking for Aru and suddenly he finds her blue hair clip. She is now in the middle of nowhere on a high mountain with nothing but steamy lava, beneath. As the monster approaches her, it feels a strong thud due to lightning, and here we have our savior – Mook. A large sea serpent with enormous wings is now trying to save Aru. She suddenly slips off the cliff and Mook follows to save her. The classic scene of all times!!
Refund High School Chapter 49: Mook Saves Aru
Mook holds Aru with his serpent claws and is now ready to take her out of the hell of a situation (Pun intended!) However, suddenly a huge hand comes out of the lava and and holds him. The grip is so strong that without using his electric powers, Mook doesn’t think he will be able to help Aru. In order to avoid electrocuting her, he swings his tail to get away from the grip. Amidst all this, Mook’s tail gets burnt and the evil spirit takes hold of Aru.
Mook makes a deal with the evil that since all it wants are the memories, it is better to take Mook’s memories and leave Aru. So as soon as he hears the deal, the evil spirit comes up to Mook to take his memories. And as it touches Mook, he uses his superpowers and gets rid of the evil spirit.
By the end of Refund High School Chapter 49, the history teacher exclaims, “I mean what kind of weird dream was that?!” There is a loud panting on the door and once he opens the door, “Sir, something really bad has happened!!”
The story has now turned into my favorite part. I like how the plot went from the black team winning the competition to a field trip to ‘HELL!’ I’m even more hinged with Refund High School now, can’t wait to see how the story progresses.
