Love Bites webtoon is really following the haters-to-lovers trope to the fullest. We saw how Mason and Kieran hated each other due to their history; eventually, they fell for each other because they are not the monsters their clan wants them to be. On one hand, Kieran’s brother Cedric hates the wolves and can’t imagine forgiving them for killing his brother. Love Bites Chapter 65: Cedric’s Hate for Wolves
Love Bites Chapter 65 begins with Kieran thinking to himself, “When did Cedric become a stranger to me? When did he start hating the wolves more than he loved me?” Although in his true vampire avatar, Cedric gets upset by his brother’s action and says why would he jump in front of his stab? Kieran looks straight at him and declares he won’t let him hurt Mason. Shocked, Cedric asks, but you would sacrifice yourself for him? Enraged, he asks his brother to get out of his way or else he would – Before he could complete his sentence, Mason turns into a wolf and bites Cedric’s hand.
Meanwhile, Cella is awake. She asks Kieran to come along with him since the dagger is still inside his chest. Kieran holds his best friend’s hand and says he can’t leave Mason with Cedric. He asks her to find his father and contact Mason’s family. “I have to finish this and stop Cedric, for good, this time.” With pleading eyes, Cella holds her hand and says, “If anyone can stop him, it’s you.” Then she runs towards the castle, screaming for help.
Cedric rebukes Kieran for letting Cella go out of their sight. “If you use your charmspeak on me again, I’ll – I will…” Kieran asks, “What? You’ll kill me, too?” Cedric’s voice immediately softens. He holds his chest and says Kieran is his brother, his family, and he is trying to protect him. “I’m sorry I hurt you. But none of this would have happened if you had stayed away from the wolves.”
Kieran Stands Against His Brother
Cedtric continues to say that Kieran will understand someday that his brother was right. Taking the dagger out of his chest, Kieran says, “No, you’re not. You hurt people. I know you believe you’re protecting me by hurting them. But Cella and Mason are my family, too.” Cedric says Kieran is being ridiculous to consider a wolf their family, but he can turn Cella into a Callisto. Before he could complete his words, Kieran points the dagger at his brother and says, “Families aren’t built on blood. Families are built on love and trust. Mom knew that.” He continues to beg his brother to forgive the Kane pack. He knows it is not easy, but they can do it together.
Enraged and adamant, Kieran says, “I will never forget what the wolves did to mom, and I will never forget how you betrayed her. I’m sorry I tried to make you see reason. Maybe Aunt Carmen was right. Maybe it was your fault.” [To know the context, read Love Bites Chapter 63-64] Kieran flies away, warning him not to look for him or get in his way. Love Bites Chapter 65 ends with Kieran collapsing, thinking to himself, “Did I do the right thing, Mom? Is loving Mason Kane worth losing my brother?”
