When you feel you are helpless and you can’t do anything, love grabs your hand and shows you your true potential. And that is exactly what happened in Love Bites Chapter 63-64. Kieran always felt weak as a vampire, seeing everyone around him using their power to the fullest. But, when it is about saving the life of his love and best friend, he would leave no stone unturned to protect them, even if the person standing in front of him is his own brother Cedric.
Love Bites Chapter 63: You Don’t Hate Me Too?
Love Bites Chapter 63 opens up with young Cedric insisting that Kieran talk to him. He is worried about his younger brother starving for two weeks. Kieran says, “I’m not hungry…Aunt Carmen says I should be dead anyway.” Cedric reacts furiously, saying she was wrong to say that – “Forget what Aunt Carmen said. None of this is your fault…If Mom hadn’t saved you, you would be both gone. But you’re here with me, and I’m so glad.” Cedric comforts his little brother, saying he loves him and nothing will ever change that.
Back to the present, Kieran is thinking to himself how Cedric never hated me, but simultaneously never stopped hating the wolves. Standing in front of the dead bodies of Cella and Mason, Cedric wished his little brother a happy birthday. Kieran asks his brother to take it out on him, not on his loved ones. Cedric gets angry and says, they are the ones who are confusing his brother.
It’s Okay to Be A Mess
Love Bites Chapter 63 shows how emotionally mature Cella is. Flashback, as she and Mason go out at night, they can’t help but look back at their past, too. Mason mentions how he was a jerk to her. Cella, being Cella, didn’t delve into that conversation and mentioned how Alpha Complex is not really a thing. (Yes, Cella, it’s all just a Twilight film and nothing else! We agree with you.) She says, “You and Kieran both think you’re monsters, but you’re really just messes. And that’s okay. Being a high schooler is messy enough – I can’t imagine being a supernatural creature, too.
Mason and Cella were clueless, but Cedric was right there with them in a tree in his crow avatar. To trick them out of the home, he screams for help from the woods with a fake voice. As soon as they go out, Cedric appears.
Back to the present, Cedric says they are not dead yet, but Cedric will make sure Cella and Kieran both turn into nightwalkers. Holding his knife close to Mason’s neck, he tells Kieran that he won’t let him betray his mom every day. Seeing his expression and the conviction in his voice, Kieran is certain his brother is about to kill the love of his life. But what can he do about it?
At that moment, the words of the witch came to his mind – “Sometimes words are stronger than any weapon.” Love Bites Chapter 63 ends with Kieran imagining his mother’s face and thinking, “I’m sorry, Mom. I know we don’t use our power on family…but there is no other choice.”
Love Bites Chapter 64: A Life for A Life
Love Bites Chapter 64 begins with Kieran using his charm. “You’re right, Cedric. I have forgotten who really matters. I know that everything you do is for mom, so let’s bring Cella and Mason to her now.” Confused, Cedric asked but why does he want to do this. Kieran realizes his charm is not strong enough, so he pushes more. “We can make a ceremony of it. A trade of our own: A Life For A Life. You can spill Mason’s blood on her altar.” Charmed by his little brother’s words, Mason says, but we can’t let our father get in the way. He asks Kieran to carry the girl, and he will carry the wolf.
As Kieran picks Cella, she grabs his shirt and pleads to not to do it. He comforts her, asking her to trust him. While Cedric is dragging Mason by the shirt in the snow, Kieran thinks to himself, he can’t kill his brother. As all four get close to the vampire mansion, Mason’s face gets hit by a branch, and he gasps. Cedric grabs him by his collar and threatens to use the silver blade on him, “Or maybe I should let Kieran do that to you, hm?” They face Kieran, and Mason looks at Kieran like he is a monster.
Mason throws Cedric to the ground and reaches him fiercely with his silver blade. Immediately, Kieran screams, saying STOP, DON’T HURT HIM! His brother is shocked and freezes on the spot. He starts warning his little brother, reminding him he can’t control him forever. “I would have forgiven you for everything. But this wolf has turned you against me. That ends now.” Love Bites Chapter 64 ends with Kieran taking the stab of Cedric’s silver dagger.
Love Bites Chapter 63-64 is one of those chapters where one can’t really tell what will happen next, but hopefully something good will happen.
