Singles’ Royale Chapter 25: To Convince His Mother
Singles’ Royale Chapter 25 begins as Dowon’s mother begins loudly insisting on the fake couple- Dowon and Jurim- to kiss. When they try to leave the restaurant, she raises her voice even higher. Reminded of a past love in the good ol’ days, an old man begins to loudly chant ‘Kiss her!’ with her. As others begin joining in, the situation escalates to a chaotic crowd of people cheering and expectantly waiting for them to kiss.
Caught in the middle of an inescapable situation, Dowon admits defeat. He tells Jurim in a quiet whisper to call the act off. But Jurim was determined to see things through (sure, that’s the only reason). Impulsively, she takes Dowon’s face in her hands and kisses him.
The restaurant erupts in applause (not bad for a first kiss) while Dowon’s mother squeals in delight. Having fulfilled her mission, she hugs Jurim (‘Juju’) and her son (‘Joonu’), and without wasting any more time, she leaves with her sleekly dressed boyfriend (who resembles and acts more like her bodyguard than her partner).
Dowon and Jurim awkwardly- all of the awkwardness is Jurim- exchange a few words after she leaves. Suppressed embarrassment finally catches up to Jurim, causing her to blush. Had she actually kissed him?! What was happening??
Suddenly, Dowon pulls her into a tight embrace. Gently, he whispers into her ear. His mother was still watching them. Jurim covertly peeks over Dowon’s shoulder- and sure enough, the woman with red lips and sunglasses stares back at her. Convinced, she hesitantly circles her arms around her boyfriend. From her position behind a wall, Dowon’s mother narrows her eyes at the embracing couple.
An Unavoidable Stalker Situation
For the rest of the day, she follows them around in suspicion. Was she waiting for them to slip up and make a mistake? Dowon decides to take Jurim to a hotel to finally put an end to his mother’s curiosity. He checks them in for a day. Meanwhile, Jurim tries to comprehend the situation. In the elevator, en route to one of the highest floors, Jurim tensely stands to the side. She couldn’t breathe, swallow, or feel normal in the cramped space. “Is it because of that kiss?” Dowon inquires nonchalantly as the doors finally slide open. “That was my first kiss!” Jurim hotly responds in defense.
The statement echoes through the hallway, making Dowon pause mid-step. He turns around to face her. When he confirms from the look on her face that she was serious, Dowon decides to make it up to her. He slams a hand onto the lift doors to prevent
