In the opening chapters of Jinx by Mingwa, we’re introduced to Kim Dan, a physical therapist, and Joo Jaekyung, a dominant MMA fighter. Their relationship begins with tension, desperation, and unexpected intimacy, setting the stage for a complicated dynamic. As their professional and personal boundaries blur in Jinx Chapter 11-20, both men are forced to confront their inner demons, desires, and vulnerabilities.
Jinx Chapter 11: Chains That Strangle

Jinx Chapter 11 begins with Kim Dan returning home, thinking that the fourteen thousand dollars was enough. Enough to cover his grandmother’s hospital bills, and enough to clear the interest that had been piling up. A new question rose in his mind: how long would he have to remain bound to Jaekyung? There was no deadline, no end to this strange arrangement. He belonged to him until Jaekyung said otherwise. As he walked up the dim stairwell to his apartment, his phone buzzed.
The message was blunt. The neighborhood was being cleared for redevelopment. All tenants had to vacate within a week or face dire consequences. The warning was official. Later that night, the loan sharks came. Their visit was sudden and violent. Suspicious of the timely interest payment, they assumed he was hiding something. The blows were relentless. A fist to the face, a knee to the ribs, his body slammed against the wall. When they finally left, Kim Dan was barely conscious, one eye swelling shut, his entire body aching.
A Dangerous Bargain
The next morning, he walked into the training academy with a patch over his injured eye. His coworkers glanced at him, concerned, asking what had happened. He brushed them off, blaming it on a fall, though no one truly believed it. The bruises were too deliberate, too cruel. In the massage room, the silence between him and Jaekyung was thicker than usual. Eventually, he forced the words out. He needed an advance this month. The eviction notice gave him no time, and he had nowhere to go. Jaekyung’s expression turned cold, assuming Dan had already spent the money. Kim Dan didn’t argue. He didn’t explain. Instead, he dropped to his knees in front of him. He begged, telling Jaekyung he would do anything if he helped him this once.
The room stayed silent for a beat too long before Jaekyung grabbed him by the collar and yanked him forward. Dan didn’t resist. Their faces were close now, breaths intermingling, tension between them. Jaekyung’s anger didn’t mask his confusion. There was something else in his eyes; something darker, unreadable. Kim Dan kept his gaze lowered, knowing he had nothing left to offer but himself. Jinx Chapter 11 ends with Jaekyung wanting to try something. His words are sinister and evil.
Jinx Chapter 12: The Price of Desperation

In Jinx Chapter 12, Kim Dan sat at the edge of Jaekyung’s bed, legs tense, hands resting awkwardly in his lap. The room was too quiet, too dim, and every second that passed made his chest tighten further. He had no idea what Jaekyung was planning—but the silence alone was punishment. He kept his gaze lowered, afraid of what he might see in Jaekyung’s eyes if he dared to look up.
A glass clinked beside him. Jaekyung handed him a drink. It smelled of strong liquor, the kind that burned all the way down. Dan didn’t drink often, but he forced it down. Jaekyung leaned against the dresser, watching him with an unreadable expression. Then, without a word, he pulled open a drawer and held something up: an adult toy, sleek, foreign, and far too intimidating. Dan’s breath hitched. Jaekyung turned it over in his hands, mentioning it had been left behind by someone before him. Someone who had handled this sort of thing better.
The Walk Of Shame
Dan felt the floor tilt beneath him. He didn’t speak. He couldn’t. When Jaekyung moved closer, there was no teasing, no seduction; only control. Cold fingers against his skin, a firm grip, a voice that gave instructions instead of comfort. Dan obeyed, numb, letting the moments pass over him like waves. The toy was invasive, clinical, and Jaekyung’s interest in his reactions felt more like curiosity than care.
Every second was a slow descent into humiliation. Dan bit the inside of his cheek to stay quiet, forcing his body to stay still, to not tremble too visibly. His shame wasn’t in the pain, but in how powerless he felt under Jaekyung’s gaze. The next morning, Jaekyung wakes up Kim Dan, throws a shirt at him, and asks him to get out. As Dan made a movement, he fell unconscious with a loud thud. Jinx Chapter 12 ends with a sick Kim Dan and a shocked Jaekyung.
Jinx Chapter 13: Whiplash

Everything faded into black at the beginning of Jinx Chapter 13. Kim Dan’s body finally gave in, overwhelmed by exhaustion, bruises from the loan sharks, and the aftermath of Jaekyung’s harsh treatment. He fainted with a loud thud. The sudden collapse startled Jaekyung more than he expected. He cursed under his breath, immediately calling the team’s doctor. The doctor arrived within the hour, furious the moment he laid eyes on Dan’s condition. His body was a mess, bruises in varying stages of healing, and now severe swelling and damage in places that should’ve never been pushed that far. The doctor didn’t hold back, scolding Jaekyung like a child. A fighter should know the limits of the human body, he said. This wasn’t just recklessness, it was complete disregard. Dan needed rest, proper meals, and time to heal. Not rough handling and neglect.
Beneath His Cold Demeanor
Dan woke later, sluggish and disoriented, his whole body aching like it had been set on fire. Jaekyung was in the kitchen, surprisingly quiet, cooking something simple. The smell was warm, comforting in a way Dan didn’t know he needed. But it made things worse. The same man who had manhandled him the night before was now acting like he cared. Dan didn’t understand it. Was Jaekyung just guilty? Or was this some twisted side of him that showed up only when the damage was already done? The warmth of the food didn’t match the memory of last night’s cold hands and careless commands.
Despite everything, Jaekyung handed over the advance payment without complaint. Dan had to move out by Friday, and now, at least, that was possible. The next day, Dan stayed home. Jaekyung didn’t need him for the match; his opponent wasn’t supposed to be much trouble. Or so they thought. Hours later, Dan’s phone rang. It was the coach, voice breathless and panicked. Something had gone wrong. Jaekyung was down. Badly. And they needed Dan back. Immediately. With this, Jinx Chapter 13 came to an end.
Jinx Chapter 14: Behind Closed Doors

Jinx Chapter 14 begins with Kim Dan’s heart racing as he sprinted through the back hallways of the arena, his body sore from the previous night’s abuse. The coach’s voice still echoed in his ears, frantic and panicked. Jaekyung was injured, his shoulder was stiff, and he couldn’t fight. Dan didn’t stop to think. His feet moved on their own, driven by an instinct to help, to do something, even though every part of him felt broken from the pain of the past few days. When Dan reached the prep room, he found Jaekyung waiting, shirtless, a look of quiet frustration on his face. His eyes met Dan’s, intense and unreadable.
Without a word, Jaekyung ordered everyone out of the room, and in the sudden silence that followed, the tension in the air became thick enough to choke on. Dan stood frozen in the doorway as Jaekyung locked the door behind him, the sound of the bolt clicking shut sending a chill down his spine. The room, once filled with the hustle of trainers and staff, now felt suffocating. Jaekyung moved closer, his gaze never leaving Dan. A flicker of confusion crossed Dan’s mind. Why had Jaekyung insisted on locking them alone together? But that question was quickly replaced by something darker, something that already felt too familiar.
No Escape
The memories of earlier that day surged back. Just hours before, Jaekyung had been confronted by his opponent in the locker room, the younger man’s words biting and venomous. He had insulted Jaekyung’s skills, calling him a washed-up fighter who relied on pretty boys like Kim Dan to make up for his weaknesses and spat on his face. Jaekyung’s pride had been wounded, and in that moment, his mind had made a choice. He faked the shoulder injury during training, giving the manager just enough reason to call Dan in.
The game had always been one of control, and now he had the power to make Dan bend to his will. As Jaekyung advanced, Dan felt a chill spread through his veins. The door had been locked. There was no escape. The assault that followed was harsh and without mercy. Every thrust, every motion was fueled by Jaekyung’s frustration, his need for dominance. Dan’s body responded against his will, tears slipping from his eyes as he cried out. He begged, his voice trembling, asking Jaekyung to be gentle, but Jaekyung didn’t pause, didn’t soften. The man who had been so cold to him in the past now seemed to drown in the darkness of his own need.
And then, as Dan’s eyes filled with tears, something shifted. Jaekyung paused, his breath heavy. The image of the doctor’s words flashed in his mind, Do you even kiss him?. He stared down at Dan, whose face was streaked with tears, and for the first time, he saw him. Jaekyung pulled Dan closer, his hand cupping his jaw, and kissed him. Rough and Demanding, ending Jinx chapter 14.
Jinx Chapter 15: Kisses Overload!!

Jinx Chapter 15 opens with a fevered hush in the locker room; Jaekyung pulling Dan close, a hand cupping his jaw roughly as their mouths crash together. There’s no gentleness here, only Jaekyung’s bruising dominance, his tongue tasting, demanding. Their breaths tangle, hot and panting, as Jaekyung presses his advantage, his hips grinding against Dan’s. It is overwhelming and raw.
When it’s over, Jaekyung pulls back abruptly, lips glistening. Dan slumps to the floor, feeling discarded and worn out, lungs heaving. Used; that’s how Dan feels. But there’s no time to process the match, the crowd already roaring through the speakers. Randy Booker looms on the opposite side of the cage, hulking and sneering, eyes promising violence. The first round is a flurry of fists and feet, Randy trying to bulldoze Jaekyung with brute strength, but Jaekyung meets him blow for blow, a storm in motion. Jaekyung’s movements are swift; he slips from Randy’s grasp again and again, only to return with bruising counterstrikes.
Payback!
By the second round, Randy is flagging, his breathing ragged, his face a mask of defeat as Jaekyung lands a vicious right hook that sends him to his knees. The crowd erupts as the ref calls it; Jaekyung stands victorious, sweat-drenched and triumphant. For payback, Jaekyung stalks up to his beaten opponent and spits, disdainful, marking his conquest. The world watches, and Jaekyung’s legend grows heavier, the burden of being the strongest MMA fighter alive. Back in the resting room, the air is thick and silent.
Jaekyung drops onto the bench, dismissing the manager to fetch water. Finally, Dan musters the courage to tell Jaekyung to let him know beforehand so that he can prepare himself emotionally. His voice trembles, barely audible, but Jaekyung’s jaw tightens with irritation. He stands abruptly, gathering his things as if to leave. Dan scrambles for words, blurting, “Your match… it was amazing.” Jaekyung pauses at the door, “Tell me something I don’t know,” he tosses over his shoulder, the champion’s weight still pressing down on him. Dan is left in the quiet, carrying his own hidden ache, ending Jinx Chapter 15.
Jinx Chapter 16: It’s Worse!

Kim Dan stands in the bathroom, toothbrush clutched awkwardly in his hand, in Jinx Chapter 16. His mind drifts to the events of the previous night, to Jaekyung’s breath down his throat, that rough kiss that still lingers like a bruise beneath his skin. Dan had never been kissed before, never imagined it would feel so raw. If that’s what kissing is meant to be, he wonders, perhaps he could have gone his whole life without one.
Questions swirl aimlessly in his head: Why does Jaekyung kiss him in one moment, only to hurt him in the next? Why heal the wounds he himself inflicts? Afterwards, He scrolls feverishly through rental listings, thumb hovering over photos of battered kitchens and cold windows. He dials a landlord, voice trembling with forced cheer as he talks about deposits and move-in dates. The call, though, does not go unnoticed. The familiar, heavy footsteps of the loansharks echo from the hall; a knot of dread forms in Dan’s stomach, too late for flight.
Dan’s Broken Resolve
They drag him back to his house. Blood splatters as their fists blow his face. Each blow drove the wind from his lungs, pain hitting across his ribs. Dan watches helplessly as they snatch his phone, scrolling through his bank records with greedy eyes. Fourteen thousand dollars in his account, something they hadn’t expected. Their suspicions flare. Disgusted, they laugh crudely, mocking that he must be selling his body to earn so much, taunting over which position he must play. Their hands are rough, shoving, groping, humiliating, fingers fumbling with his clothes, intent not just to rob but to break what little dignity Dan has left.
As they threaten him, their voices coarse, they promise to go after his fragile grandmother if he doesn’t transfer the money. The fear pierces Dan’s resolve, leaving him on the edge of despair. Then, as rough hands begin to strip his shirt, a new voice slices through the chaos, which is cold and impossible to mistake. In an instant, everything stills. Jaekyung’s figure fills the room. Jinx Chapter 16 closes with Dan caught somewhere between relief and terror, uncertain what fate has decided for him.
Jinx Chapter 17: Breaking Point

A few hours earlier, Jaekyung had been scheduled for a routine medical check-up, an appointment that Kim Dan was supposed to accompany him to. But Dan had disappeared, leaving Jaekyung alone to face the looming task. The next available appointment was a month away. Jaekyung’s frustration grew, but it wasn’t the only thing on his mind. Now, in the present, the tension was palpable as Jaekyung faced off with a group of loan sharks. They recognized him immediately, though they were skeptical about his true identity. They sneered at him, calling him a “show fighter” and belittling his status as an MMA champion. Their insults cut deep, their words like daggers aimed at his pride.
No Room For Disgrace
Jaekyung’s patience snapped. The comments, the mockery of his profession were too much. Without a word, he lunged at the first man, his fists landing with brutal precision. The fight erupted, a whirlwind of fists and fury. Within moments, Jaekyung had taken down all three men, their bodies crumpling to the floor. The place was reduced to a chaotic wreck. With a cold, calculating look, Jaekyung turned to the leader of the loan sharks. He demanded to know how much Kim Dan owed. Without hesitation, he transferred the full amount to their account. As Jaekyung turned to leave, his gaze fell on Dan, trembling in the corner. He knelt down, lifting Dan into his arms. “Let’s go,” he said, his voice hard. “It’s time for my med check.” And with that, they walked out into the night, concluding Jinx Chapter 17.
Jinx Chapter 18: Price To Pay

At the hospital for a medical check, Dan sits anxiously on a bench in Jinx Chapter 18. Jaekyung arrives, a scowl darkening his face. Dan rushes to him, grabbing Jaekyung’s hands, panic in his eyes as he checks for injuries. There’s none, Jaekyung’s only irritation is that the doctor has left, forcing them to repeat the whole trip another time. Dan apologizes hurriedly. Later, Jaekyung reveals with a dismissive tone that he compensated the other party involved by paying them his debt. Dan is flabbergasted as he has paid off all the money Dan owed to the loan sharks. Dan tries to object, but Jaekyung shuts him down, warning that if Dan’s gratitude is limited to a mere apology, he can go home right now. Jaekyung insists that Dan now owes that entire debt to him.
Bound By Debt
Jaekyung grabs Dan by the wrist, pulling him close. Dan promises to pay Jaekyung back. Jaekyung smirks, voice low and dangerous, “Of course you will, and you know how… It’s time to let go of your pride. Don’t forget I bought you with cold, hard cash.” Dan’s mind spins, every thought now tied to Jaekyung, their fates knotted. Mockingly, Jaekyung offers Dan a stay at his penthouse to let Dan sample the penthouse life. The next morning, sunlight streaming across an unfamiliar bedroom makes it clear: Dan is in Jaekyung’s world now. He makes his way downstairs. Jaekyung reads him a list of house rules: don’t disturb his sleep, don’t steal anything, and most pointedly, take care of his health. Dan, still confused, asks why Jaekyung is being this generous.
Jaekyung snaps at him, saying it’s nothing kind, and Dan shouldn’t get ideas about being special to him. And that he only stays here to handle his jinx. Dan bows his head, swallowing the humiliation. On Jaekyung’s way out to training, he hesitates as he turns back. Suddenly, Jaekyung pushes Dan onto the table. Jaekyung wants to have his own snack. In moments, all restraint gone, Jaekyung undresses, and Dan submits, exhaustion mixing in with reluctant need, the debt deepening, all against his will. Jinx Chapter 18 closes with Dan’s silent torment, tangled ever more completely in Jaekyung’s grasp.
Jinx Chapter 19: Cold Silence

In Jinx Chapter 19, Kim Dan walked quietly past the crumbling old neighborhood. Though most of the houses had already been flattened into rubble, his house stood stubbornly upright, as if defying time for just a little longer. Inside, he ran his palm along the cool, elegant surface of his grandmother’s bridal cupboard made of mother-of-pearl. This was all he could take with him, a silent testament to home. When Jaekyung saw the weight Dan struggled with, he said nothing about the cupboard’s beauty or age, just grunted before heading out for his evening training session.
Cold Marble, Hot Tears
Dan was left alone in the unfamiliar apartment, surrounded by cold surfaces. No warmth. Then Jaekyung’s call flashed on his phone screen, asking him to get ready. Dan wandered to the bathroom, the walls haunting him. The running tap was the only sound as he loosened his rear over the sink, trying to smooth the ache inside. Unknown to him, Jaekyung had returned quietly, slipping into the bathroom doorway as Dan continued to do his thing. Suddenly, Dan felt Jaekyung’s presence behind him. The air was heavy with unspoken need. Before Dan could steady his breath, Jaekyung’s hands gripped his hips and bent him forward over the cool marble counter. Warm hands, rough and possessive, replaced the emptiness that had filled the apartment. Suddenly, the past chills were replaced by Jaekyung’s warmth, drawing Dan’s body and soul into something painful and humiliating, ending Jinx Chapter 19.
Jinx Chapter 20: Let Go Of Me!!!

Jinx Chapter 20 continues with Jaekyung’s relentless assault all night long. Jaekyung’s dominance was undeniable as he pushed Dan down, his movements sharp and purposeful. His words dripped with contempt, barely hiding his disbelief at Dan’s resistance. In his eyes, Dan was just another man, pretending to reject desire while secretly craving attention and pleasure. The disdain in Jaekyung’s voice cut through the air, stripping away any sense of dignity Dan might have had left. His words were suffocating, and the accusation that Dan was no different than anyone else.
Incoming Call…
Jaekyung’s hands were relentless, forcing Dan into submission, treating him like something to be claimed rather than treasured. His tone was laced with condescension, as if Dan’s vulnerability was something to be mocked. Every touch, every word, seemed to chip away at Dan’s sense of self, erasing the distinction between pain and longing in Jaekyung’s eyes. The humiliation ran deep, leaving Dan exposed, unsure of what he truly wanted or needed, and painfully aware that in Jaekyung’s view, his reactions only confirmed what he already believed, that he was just like the rest.
Just then, Kim Dan’s phone rang; a call from the hospital… could it be his grandmother…??? No, no, no. He tries to crawl a little further, but is pulled by Jaekyung. Is he impulsive to leave this and make a call?, Jaekyung thought. But Kim Dan needs to. Is it bad news? With these lingering thoughts and questions, Jinx Chapter 20 comes to an end.
