Welcome to Jinx, a dark and gripping BL manhwa by Mingwa (creator of BJ Alex), where desperation and dominance intertwine under the glare of bright lights and trampled egos. In Jinx Chapter 1-10, we learn Kim Dan is a physical therapist on the brink, drowning in debt, caring for an ill grandmother, and shut from honest work. When he’s offered a lifeline to save himself, a job treating the egotistical MMA fighter Joo Jaekyung, hope becomes real. Jaekyung dominates the ring, but he’s haunted by superstition. He believes he’s cursed unless he sleeps with someone before a match. And Kim Dan is asked to pay the price, not with therapy, but with his body. What follows is a twisted, emotionally charged power play where survival and desire collide. Jinx is not your typical romance; it’s dangerous, raw, and impossible to look away from.
Jinx Chapter 1: Collision Course

Jinx Chapter 1 begins with the boxing ring shaking with thunderous cheers. In the middle of the roaring arena stands Joo Jaekyung, the flawless boxer. A tyrant in the ring. The referee rushes forward, trying desperately to pull Jaekyung away from the bloodied opponent crumpled beneath him. He’s not just a fighter; he’s a storm in human form.
On the other hand, Kim Dan, a physiotherapist, is watching a video of Jaekyung in action. “Undefeated legend Joo Jaekyung—his streak continues!” “Incredible…” he whispers, almost to himself. That man…so far out of reach. And yet, today, Kim Dan has an appointment to treat him. He takes a sip of juice, heart pounding, and enters the bustling training center. Kim Dan freezes. Joo Jaekyung is in full sparring mode.
Before Dan can say anything, the manager rushes in to introduce Kim Dan. The manager lowers his voice, warning Dan to do whatever Jaekyung tells him. Inside the therapy room, Jaekyung is dripping sweat. He peels off his shirt and tosses it aside. God! He’s hot. His body is a sculpted weapon, muscles toned by war, cut like stone, brutal and beautiful.
Jaekyung lies on the massage bed. Kim Dan applies essential oil and begins. His hands glide along muscle, applying pressure. Controlled. Until his palm brushes something. Hard. Not a muscle. Jaekyung’s eyes snap open. “What do you think you’re doing, touching me like that?” Kim Dan panics, “I—I’m sorry! It was a mistake!” His throat tightens. He stammers. Eyes begin to water. This is it. He’s going to get hit. Fired. But Jaekyung only frowns. A long pause. Jaekyung tells him to finish his work soon. Somehow, the session continues.
One Week Later

Odd jobs, one after another. Bartending. Pumping gas. Stocking shelves at a convenience store. Kim Dan is exhausted. No word from Jaekyung’s camp. His only chance at stable income is gone. He slumps into a seat at the convenience store, cup noodles in front of him, staring at his bank balance. Forget the principal. He can’t even make next month’s interest. And his grandmother’s treatment bills? Impossible. He sighs until his phone buzzes. Joo Jaekyung. His eyes widened. “H-Hello?” Jaekyung tells Dan that he has a match tomorrow, and he demands a treatment right this hour.
Kim Dan’s throat goes dry. That voice offering him five grand. It’s late. It’s sudden. But five grand… That’s next month’s interest. That’s the hospital bills. He hesitates for a while and then agrees. Not realizing what he’s walking into. He’s tired of being pushed, bullied, and hit. But this isn’t over.
Meanwhile…In Jaekyung’s darkened bedroom, another man lies on the mattress, face down, breath ragged. Jaekyung moves above him, thrusts deep, a hand gripping the sheets. His sweat drips down, his breath hot. A smirk curls at his lips. And so, damnation begins, ending Jinx Chapter 1.
Jinx Chapter 2: Keep Your Promise

In Jinx Chapter 2, Kim Dan stood frozen in front of the towering apartment complex, his eyes tracing the sleek lines of the magnificent building. It felt surreal, like he had stepped into someone else’s life. This kind of luxury didn’t belong in his world: the private elevator, the silence that screamed wealth. When he reached the floor, something felt… off. Jaekyung’s door was slightly ajar. He hesitated. Is everything okay? Did he forget to close it? He stepped closer, uncertainty gnawing at his chest. He called softly, pushing the door open. A shirt came flying at his face. He ducked, heart leaping. “Don’t make me say it again. Get out,” came Jaekyung’s voice, sharp, cold. Kim Dan flinched, unsure if the words were meant for him. But no, there was someone else in the room.
A man stood in the center of the mess, shirtless, flushed, breathless, just pulling up his pants. His hair was damp. The evidence was everywhere. Kim Dan’s mouth fell open in shock. “We’ve been hooking up for months,” the man snapped. “And now I’m just nothing?” Jaekyung didn’t reply. “You have to admit,” the man continued, his hand sliding shamelessly between Jekyung’s legs. Kim Dan stared, horrified, hand covering his mouth. Jaekyung… is into men? Jaekyung shrugs his hands off, feeling unpleasant. The man froze. And then he spotted Kim Dan at the door. His sneer twisted into something bitter as he took Kim Dan to be a replacement.
Joo Jaekyung’s Jinx
The man’s expression shattered. His words are going to screw him up. He wished that Jaekyung would lose the match, and that was it. Jaekyung slammed him into the wall with one brutal move, threatening to kill him. He threw cash at the man’s face. The man stormed out, spitting curses. Jaekyung turned to Kim Dan, calling him in. Dan follows. The bedroom was a disaster. He tried to focus on his job, pulling out his supplies, when Jaekyung spoke again, asking him if he found his jinx strange.
Dan’s voice trembled as he tried to ignore it. “You still don’t get it.” Jaekyung pulled his hand down over his chest. Why else would he call Dan? Dan yanked his hands away, flabbergasted. “If you’re not going to do it, then get out.” He hesitated. Grandma’s bills. Five thousand dollars. His fingers clutched the edge of Jaekyung’s robe. “You have to keep your promise… the five thousand dollars…” A tear slipped down his cheek. Jaekyung’s smirk deepened, ending Jinx Chapter 2.
Jinx Chapter 3: Don’t Do This

Jinx Chapter 3 continues with Kim Dan in a dilemma. He brought this on himself. Jaekyung agrees and promises Dan to give him the five thousand dollars after this. Jaekyung asks Kim Dan if he has been with a man before. Flashbacks veil to the time when he was molested by the director… He needs to answer this for five thousand grand. A simple yes. Considering the way Dan reacted to the jinx, Jaekyung wondered if he had experienced it. Guess he was. Liar. “So there is no need for me to go easy on you, then.” With this, he pulls Dan’s shirt halfway upwards. His heart was pounding. Dan yells in protest.
Dan tells Jaekyung that he came straight from a barbecue place, and he smells and decides to buy time in the shower. He squats down on the bathroom floor, wondering where he landed himself. What is he even supposed to do? If he does anything wrong, Jaekyung will beat the living pulp out of him. Is he even capable of doing such things…? Just then, the door swings open, showing an angry Jaekyung. He has been in the shower for an hour now. Before Dan could respond to him, Jaekyung grabbed Dan by his arm and pulled him out of the shower. He throws his fragile body on the bed.
Dan’s pleadings were being ignored. Jaekyung quickly grabs the bottle of lubricant from the nightstand. A cold liquid was trickling down between Dan’s legs. Dan’s eyes land on Jaekyung’s private… It’s… It’s definitely gonna tear Kim Dan. Jaekyung is pissed. The next thing he did was bury Kim Dan’s face in the sheets as he continued to get away from his jinx. Accursed. With this, Jinx chapter 3 comes to an end.
Chapter 4: Run Dan, Run

In Jinx Chapter 4, Kim Dan doesn’t like anything that’s going on. Dan’s body tensed beneath Jaekyung’s touch. Everything felt strange and foreign. His heart pounded too loudly, and his breath caught in his throat. Nothing about this felt like it was supposed to. The heat. The pressure. The way his skin prickled in unfamiliar ways. He didn’t want to look down. He didn’t want to see that. That’s part of him reacting. It made his stomach twist. It felt like betrayal. Like his body was mocking him. His fingers dug into the sheets. I don’t like this.
A sound escaped him, not quite a sob, but close. His vision blurred, and before he realized it, tears were slipping down his cheeks. Hot. Silent. Shameful. Jaekyung stilled. His voice held confusion, not cruelty. Dan didn’t answer. He couldn’t. His lips trembled, his throat tightening around words he didn’t have. He kept his face turned away, blinking hard, but more tears came anyway, uninvited, just like everything else. Still, Jaekyung didn’t stop. And Dan… didn’t know how to ask him to.
Jaekyung comes down from his high, and Dan flops on the bed, breathing heavily. Jaekyung stares at him for a while before pulling him towards him again. “This was just round one. The night is young”, Jaekyung says with a sly smirk. After a whole night of torture, Jaekyung wakes up for a bath. He comes to pull the sheets only to find that Kim Dan is not there. Of course… “It’s more fun this way.” And with this, Jinx Chapter 4 concludes.
Jinx Chapter 5: Another Win!

In Jinx Chapter 5, Jaekyung steps out of the ring, sweat mingling with satisfaction. Yet another stunning KO—his opponent sprawled unconscious, the crowd roaring. On the way to the academy, the manager can’t contain his praise. Jaekyung merely smirks, gazing distance. It changed, he thinks, replaying the past few weeks in his head. My training… no. Not that. It’s Kim Dan. He’s had dozens of men before, but never delivered the thrill Kim Dan somehow unlocked. Exactly what he was looking for. Snapping back, Jaekyung brushes the thoughts off. “That new physical therapist. I want him as my private physio,” he says. The manager, sensing an edge in Jaekyung’s voice, quickly nods and calls Kim Dan.
Back at the academy, Jaekyung’s restless energy fills the room. His teammates whisper with uneasy glances. He should be celebrating… Why does he look so pissed? No one dares ask directly, but they all see him storming through his messages, hoping for a reply. He finally marches to the manager’s office. Jaekyung asks the manager if Dan returned any of the calls. The manager shakes his head and tells him that Dan could have blocked them. The words ignite Jaekyung’s anger; he slams the door, storm clouds brewing inside him.
Kim Dan’s Helplessness
Meanwhile, Kim Dan lies in his tiny apartment, eyes squeezed shut against a pounding headache. It’s been days of relentless calls. Treating people like toys. Even with his back aching, he knows he can’t use it as an excuse. He makes his way to the hospital, worry etched into his features. Inside, his grandmother perks up at the sound of his voice, her warmth undiminished by illness. She offers him fresh yogurt, a taste from his childhood. For a brief moment, Kim Dan smiles. But the joy fades quickly when the doctors pull him aside, the cancer is advancing, the treatments are failing, and the new options cost a fortune. He stands in the corridor, crumbling under the weight of hopelessness, tears threatening to spill.
Kim’s phone rings again, Jaekyung’s name flashes across the screen. Suddenly, memories flood back: loan sharks barging in, violence, his grandmother protecting him. On the other side of the city, Jaekyung flings his phone, frustration raw. But then, his intercom buzzes unexpectedly. He answers, only to hear Kim Dan’s quiet, unsteady voice. They are face to face again, two worlds colliding at the door, fate pressing them toward decisions that will change both their lives, ending Jinx Chapter 5.
Chapter 6: Anything For Granny…

In Jinx Chapter 6, Jaekyung can’t help the slow grin spreading across his face as he finds Kim Dan outside his door. He hadn’t actually expected to see him here, especially after being ignored for days. Wordlessly, he steps aside, letting Kim Dan into his sleek, cold apartment. Kim Dan stands with fists clenched at his sides, every muscle wound tight. He knows perfectly well: Jaekyung doesn’t want him as just a physical therapist.
Kim Dan lifts his chin, masking the turmoil in his eyes. Dan demands more pay than earlier. But in his mind, all he sees is the sterile white of the hospital, the doctor’s grim face. The figure, ten thousand dollars each month just for a shot at his grandmother’s new treatment, plays on a loop. Hope balanced against humiliation. Fourteen thousand dollars, and he will sign it. Jaekyung’s smirk widens, amusement flickering in his gaze. “So, it’s all about money with you, huh?” But then his tone shifts, sharper, colder.
Jaekyung proposes that since the pay is high, Dan will do anything Jaekyung wants him to. After a heartbeat, Kim Dan nods, numb. Yes, he chose this. No price is too high for his grandmother. He barely has time to process before Jaekyung grabs him by the hair, pulling him painfully to his knees. “Suck,” Jaekyung orders, voice dark with authority. Memory crashes down as his mind flashes back to the director’s office, the suffocating sense of helplessness during the assaults, the humiliation. Sickness coils in his stomach. This is what he agreed to. This is the cost. His jaw trembles as he does what he must; shame and determination fill him; anything to save the one person he loves, ending Jinx Chapter 6.
Jinx Chapter 7: Lines Crossed

In Jinx Chapter 7, Kim Dan stands quietly in his grandmother’s hospital room, watching her finish her yogurt. She beams at him, squeezing his hand. He forces a smile, saying that he has found a good new job. But inside, worry churns. His back aches from last night’s encounter with Jaekyung, pain shooting through him as he shifts. His grandmother notices his wince. She asks if he is in pain. Kim Dan quickly hides it. He hugs her gently and leaves, the burden of his lies weighing heavily.
At Jaekyung’s gym, nerves flutter in Kim Dan’s stomach. The managers greet him at the entrance and usher him inside. Eyes follow him, a mix of curiosity and teasing as the young-looking therapist walks past the fighters. The manager cuts in and tells them that Kim Dan is older than they are. The fighters are stunned, even Jaekyung. Kim Dan clears his throat. He is twenty-nine. Training starts, and Jaekyung dominates his sparring match as usual. When a teammate complains about a cramp, Kim Dan steps in to help, his skillful touch quickly earning attention. Soon, fighters jostle for his care, crowding around him. Jaekyung’s gaze darkens.
Without warning, Jaekyung grabs Kim Dan’s wrist and drags him to the showers. Jaekyung leans close, voice low and hungry. This is exactly what he needs to cool down as his body presses Kim Dan’s rear with a bold touch. Panic spikes in Kim Dan; they’re in public; anyone could walk in. Suddenly, a furious burst overtakes his fear. He yanks free and lands a hard slap across Jaekyung’s face. For a moment, they stare at each other, both stunned, the line between them now definitively crossed, ending Jinx Chapter 7.
Chapter 8: Shh, And We’ll Be Fine

In Jinx Chapter 8, steam fills the shower room as water cascades over Kim Dan and Jaekyung. The tension is thick, Jaekyung’s grip firm as he forces himself on Kim Dan, who struggles beneath him. Pain mixes with despair in Dan’s eyes, but he stays silent.
Footsteps suddenly echo nearby. Two of Jaekyung’s teammates enter the shower area, laughing and chatting. Jaekyung’s voice drops low and dark, “Stay quiet and we’ll be fine.” Kim Dan nods reluctantly, swallowing the bitter knot in his throat. The two teammates move closer but remain oblivious to the harsh reality behind the door. They chatter about training, completely unaware of the heaviness in Kim Dan’s mind, the agony masked behind the water. As the teammates settle into their showers, Jaekyung’s grip tightens briefly on Kim Dan’s arm, a silent reminder of control before loosening. Dan’s heart pounds, a mix of misery and pain washing over him with the hot water. Behind the closed door, the truth remains hidden, silent, and unbearable. To everyone outside, Joo Jaekyung is just taking a shower. But inside, the torment is real and inescapable. With this, Jinx chapter 8 concludes.
Jinx Chapter 9: The Welcome Party

In Jinx Chapter 9, the manager hands Kim Dan a freshly pressed uniform, tailored perfectly to his size. It felt strange, too new, too official, but he slipped it on without protest. That evening, the gym crew gathered at a lively restaurant for his welcome party. Laughter echoed, beer flowed freely, and someone slid an enormous jug brimming with frothy beer in front of him. Welcome ritual, as one of them grinned. Kim Dan hesitated, the weight of the jug heavy in his hands and on his pride. Just then, someone asked about Jaekyung. He won’t be coming, supposedly.
But the name triggered a flood of heat and memory, the shower stall, Jaekyung’s touch, the humiliation wrapped in pleasure, and the power imbalance seared into his skin. Kim Dan’s fingers tightened around the mug. Suddenly, the air shifted. Jaekyung strode in, late but unmistakably confident. Conversations faltered. He smirked, walking straight to Kim Dan and effortlessly poured in the mug a drink. “After all,” Jaekyung murmured, voice low enough only for Kim Dan to hear, “you’re so delicate.” Something burned in Kim Dan’s chest, shame. Without a word, he lifted the heavy jug and chugged the entire thing, throat burning, beer spilling down his chin. Cheers erupted, but Kim Dan didn’t hear them. If this were a game, he wasn’t planning to lose. Kim Dan and everyone else turned drunk. The manager asks Jaekyung to drop him home, ending Jinx Chapter 9.
Jinx Chapter 10: A Place That Isn’t Home

Jinx Chapter 10 begins with Jaekyung slung Kim Dan over his shoulder like a duffel bag, the scent of beer clinging to him as he carried him through narrow alleys to a cramped, fading little house. It was nothing like the polished place Jaekyung called home. Inside, dust hung heavy in the air, the walls yellowed with age, and the ceiling leaked, the steady drip-drip of water echoing in the silence. He scoffed, tossing Kim Dan onto the mattress. He muttered words of disgust, curling his lip at the house he lives in. “Isn’t it suffocating?” Dan didn’t respond, not consciously. In his drunken sleep, he mumbled, “I’ll take care of everything… I promise…”
The next morning, sunlight streamed through tall windows, glinting off a chandelier. Kim Dan blinked awake to find himself in clean sheets, warmth, and silence. This wasn’t his home. This was Jaekyung’s. Panic surged as Dan sat up, instinctively checking his body for any soreness. No signs of violation. Jaekyung appeared at the door, arms crossed. Dan stood, quickly averting his eyes. “I’ll see you at the gym,” he mumbled, walking past him. “You live in that dump?” Jaekyung called after him. “It’s disgusting.” Dan froze. It doesn’t matter to him. It’s not like he is going to raise the pay. No answer. Just silence. “Besides…” Jaekyung started and then stopped. A memory surged: Kim Dan clutching his shirt, tear-streaked. “Please don’t leave me alone. Take me with you…” And with that, the Jinx Chapter 10 ends.
