The Villainess Is Bothered By Male Leads Chapter 1 begins with a brief introduction to Laura Jay Epine, the villainess of the story, and the four male leads. Namely, Damian, her silver-haired and amber-eyed butler; Shion, a scarred slave and erstwhile knight of a conquered kingdom; Belishion, the red-eyed demon of mystery; and Ethan, the powerful and opulent Grand Duke of the North.
Born into extreme poverty, Laura was adopted by Count Epine on a miserable day like every other. In one night, her life transformed from the filthy and pitiable slums to the sparkling luxuries of the wealthiest upperclassmen. But despite the drastic change in scenery, her newfound family did little to overturn the sorrows of her life. In fact, they made it worse.
Laura’s noble relatives, believing their extravagant lifestyle gave them the right to demean her background, looked down on her. Every little mistake she made earned scorn and reprimand. Pretty soon, she began longing to return to the life she once had; the poverty-stricken huts of her slum seemed like a privilege she’d taken for granted.

The Villainess Is Bothered By Male Leads Chapter 2 begins as a man accuses Laura of firing his bride, Anna, and promises to avenge the love of his life. The situation escalates further until Laura has no choice but to fling a candlebra at his head.
A crash is heard, and suddenly, Damian, Laura’s butler, is on the floor, clasping the man’s hands behind his back. ‘He is gorgeous, ‘ Laura thinks, immediately star-struck by his beauty. He walks towards her and tucks a strand of her blonde hair behind an ear. When he asks if she was okay, his voice full of concern, Laura begins to wonder. Was he her boyfriend?
The butler orders a few spare men to take the man away for interrogation. Laura watches on, annoyed that no one- barring the butler- seemed to care about her well-being. Damian takes her aside and advises her to treat her servants and bodyguards well. When Laura agrees too readily, he becomes instantly suspicious and on guard. What angle was she playing at?
Later, Laura good-naturedly asks for her servant’s name. Carlix, her older brother and heir to the Epine name, walks in at that exact moment and accuses his malicious sister of abusing her handmaiden again. Laura decides to play innocent and stands up for herself. She uses quick wit to deny his countless claims while her servant, Irena, watches them fight in horror, concluding Chapter 2.
The Villainess Is Bothered By Male Leads Chapter 3: A Day In The Life Of A Reincarnated Villain
The Villainess Is Bothered By Male Leads Chapter 3 begins as Laura recollects the few memories she can vividly remember, like Carlix’s marriage to Eliza. Having been taunted, scolded, and mistreated for her poor background, Laura burned with envy to see another humble woman enter the household only to be loved and cherished. However, there were gaps in her memory after that.
Laura snaps out of her reverie and focuses on the present. She still had to deal with Carlix. She asks for Irena’s testimony- how had she treated her?- to silence her brother. Bowing, the honest servant takes Laura’s side and explains the truth: she had been kind towards her. Defeated, Carlix has no choice but to leave. Even then, he threatens to keep an eye on her and slams the door behind him (siblings). Laura tosses her hair, thinking, ‘I have no intention of entertaining his immature provocations.’

Slowly, she begins to fall in love with her cushy life at the palace. All she had to do was not practice any forbidden spells, and she was set for life!
However, the family dinner soon dampened all her enthusiasm; in other words, it ‘was a nightmare’. While they gossiped about her tasteless fashion and ‘filthy origins’, Laura decides that she wouldn’t be a doormat any longer. She abruptly stands up from the dinner table and leaves with the last words- “Enjoy your dinner.’ The old Laura might’ve tried her hardest to fit in, but the new villainess wouldn’t let anyone dictate her actions anymore.
As she walks back to her room, she runs into Lindel, her bratty younger brother. Lindel orders Laura to apologize and grabs her sleeve to hold her back. How could she be so disrespectful?! What was she plotting this time? Irritated, she decides to flip the script on him. “Oh brother, I’m really touched,” she says, and proceeds to ask him whether he ‘fancied’ her. Lindel, flustered into speechlessness, watches her strut away in shock.
Later, Laura slips into her bathtub for a nice, long soak. As she relaxes in content, her mind suddenly flashes back to the old villainess’ memories. She remembers all the injustices her terrible family had dealt her. An idea suddenly pops into her head. She would rent a small cabin in the middle of nowhere and lead a life of serenity. She decides to enlist the help of Damian, her only ally, concluding The Villainess Is Bothered By Male Leads Chapter 3.
The Villainess Is Bothered By Male Leads Chapter 4: A Tank Of Sharks
The Villainess Is Bothered By Male Leads Chapter 4 begins as Laura begins to plan her escape from the confines of her miserable noble life. She decides to use old Laura’s memories as an advantage over her father. That way, she might be able to procure enough money from him to move away. She meets the Count for lunch, addressing him as ‘my Lord’ instead of ‘father’, and puts forward her plea. “I just want to leave my miserable past behind and start over somewhere new,” she says honestly. However, her father doesn’t agree so easily.
But Laura has a trick or two up her sleeve. She presents him with an investment opportunity. Knowing that the land routes would be blocked in advance, Laura advises him to secure access to the sea ports. Further, she highlights that the demand for oak and magic stone would rise during the period. Finally, she tells her father to wait for an envoy to discuss sea trade. If her “hunch’ was right, she’d have thirty percent of the profits and her own cabin. If she was wrong, she’d agree to marry any nobleman of his choice. She leaves her father to think about the proposal while her brother watches them suspiciously.
Later, Laura thinks about asking Irena to leave with her. After she gracefully declines the offer, she offers to take Laura to the best place to find servants for her new home- a slave market. The Villainess Is Bothered By Male Leads Chapter 4 concludes as Shion groggily awakens amidst the depressively chaotic atmosphere of the slave market.
