Love Bites is a supernatural, slow-burn romance webtoon that blends teen drama with fangs, fur, and emotional chaos. It’s about Kieran, a broody young vampire trying to survive high school with his dangerous charm-speaking skills and his feelings for Mason, a cocky werewolf who already has a girlfriend, Cella (Kieran’s best friend). As identities, friendships, and loyalties get mixed up, things can only get more complicated. In Love Bites Chapter 23, we move onto Annalise — Kieran’s vampire cousin, who is a sweetheart and has a secret of her own. She opens up about her past, her identity, and her desire to be a daywalker. But just as it looks like things will settle, a mysterious raven appears to watch them from the shadows…
Love Bites Chapter 23: Of Confessions, Crushes & Crimson-Eyed Ravens

Love Bites Chapter 23 begins with a quieter, more intimate shift from the usual chaos. This time, the spotlight is stolen by Annalise, Kieran’s sharp-tongued, heart-on-her-sleeve cousin. We find out that she was not born a vampire. She was a human being born into a family that she had to run away from in order to survive. Aunt Carmen was the one who took her in, gave her refuge, and provided her with a name to go by: Callisto. Since then, Annalise has been living her life as a nightwalker, one of the turned vampires who live in the dark.
But she is now suffering an identity crisis. Why? It is because she wants to fall in love with a girl. And being a nightwalker makes dating…a little complicated.. She tells Kieran how she wishes she could live the way he does, go to school, make friends, live in the sunlight, outside of shadows. Kieran, who is still trying to figure himself out, tells her that she is the one who can choose for herself.. There is a ritual called “the trade,” a permanent decision all turned vampires must make before turning 17: to become a nightwalker like Cedric or a daywalker like Kieran.
Annalise is stunned. Can she change everything? Kieran encourages her to choose her path, not someone else’s. Then she entirely flips the emotional script.”Who is he?” she asks, shouting at him. Kieran freezes. She knows. She knows about Mason. He evades the question and asks how she knew that she was gay. With a warm, slightly mischievous smile, she says, “It just always felt right.” She came out when she was 12, but her parents didn’t take it well. So she left and never looked back.
Confession Time

Kieran is fascinated and perhaps a little jealous of how sure she is. She sweetly presses him further. She is here to help, after all. And Kieran, at last, pours out the tangled tea–Mason. Werewolf. Cella’s boyfriend. Oh, and he may have even used charmspeak to make Mason kiss him. Annalise’s eyes widen like she’s watching a drama unfold in real-time. “Oh no.” (Yeah, messed up indeed). Well, he did… But instead of judging, she offers exactly what he needs: a plan. She tells her to apologize to Mason, explain his feelings. Her tone’s half teasing, half serious.
Then she gives him something–not magic, but support. She asks him to tell her everything. Right from the very beginning. And Kieran does. The secrets, the longing, the guilt, the confusion. Annalise listens like only someone who’s been the outsider can. But as this heart-to-heart unfolds inside, a silent figure is watching from the shadows. A raven, with red blazing eyes, was sitting quietly on a branch near the window. Watching. Listening. Waiting. (Is that you, Cedric??) Love Bites Chapter 23 ends with the sense that while confessions bring clarity, consequences may already be circling.

What Happened So Far in Love Bites?
Set in a world in which humans coexist with vampires and werewolves, Kieran, our emotionally conflicted vampire protagonist, struggles with grief, power, and a complicated past. Kieran, whose charmspeak gift he inherited, carries guilt and loneliness, worsened by his aunt Carmen’s blame. In the middle of this, he develops a strange connection with Mason Kane- the charismatic, volatile heir of a strong werewolf pack.
Their relationship starts tense, with sarcasm and suspicion, but slowly it transforms into something that neither of them has the words to describe. Mason is arrogant and controlling, the byproduct of a rare mutation known as the Alpha Complex, which makes him desire control even more. But behind that mask, there is a boy who despises his own violent nature and wants to be understood.
Kieran, meanwhile, tries to stay close to Mason, partly to protect his human friend Cella, who is dating Mason. However, soon the boundaries blur. Kieran begins to care more than he would like to confess. We also see cracks in Mason’s mask through their double date, phone calls that are emotional, and a Halloween football game.
In Love Bites Chapter 21, a quarrel breaks out, not only verbal, but emotional too, as Mason heartlessly lashes out at Kieran, calling him heartless. However, by Love Bites Chapter 22, emotions get totally out of control. An almost-kissing situation turns into a full-blown kiss. But Kieran panics, fearing that Mason is still under his charm spell. He runs, confused and afraid of his own power. Just when things couldn’t get messier, a mysterious woman enters Kieran’s room.
