The Emperor suggests she visit the temple to inquire about the reasons behind their body swap. The emperor also offers his apologies on behalf of his son, to which Psyche-in-Medea responds that it brings her great consolation before departing.
In the next scene, the emperor instructs a guard to escort the empress back to her chambers, refusing to see her. The empress pleads for entry, questioning whether he still loves her. The emperor firmly reassures her of his love, stating that if she mends her ways, they will see each other again. The guard, concealing his identity, lets out a sigh of relief.
