Disturbing Truths | Mone And Psyche
Your Throne Chapter 193: Further Troubles
Your Throne Chapter 193 opens with Psyche’s nanny taunting her about being dumped by Eros. However, the nanny is taken aback when Psyche shows no reaction and swiftly leaves the room. In a more pressing predicament, Psyche realizes she cannot speak and doubts that Medea will marry someone as cruel as Eros. Overwhelmed, she vomits blood, prompting the servants to rush to her aid. Lira attempts to fetch a doctor, but Psyche stops her, knowing that medical help won’t alleviate the side effects of her power. As the servants serve her food, Psyche is horrified to discover that Eros has traumatized her to the point where she now fears sharp objects. She eventually faints.
The scene shifts to the Solon physician meeting with Medea. She anticipates Eros summoning him to inquire about her health and instructs the doctor to answer all questions honestly. Meanwhile, Medea attends a fitting for her wedding dress, and the dressmakers are captivated by her beauty. Eros is also present, taking an unusual interest in the details of the dress, a stark contrast to his previous indifference when he was with Psyche. Satisfied with the final design, he requests that they complete the dress before the wedding. However, when he back-hugs Medea, she firmly brushes off his advances, reminding him to respect boundaries. Your Throne Chapter 193 concludes with the ominous implication that Eros will not allow Psyche to find peace.
Chapter 194: Indifference
Following Your Throne Chapter 193, Chapter 194 begins with Eros scheming something ominous for Psyche. In the next scene, the palace summons the Solon family doctor, as Medea predicted. Eros inquires about Medea’s health, and the physician, adhering to Medea’s request, reveals everything honestly. Eros learns that Medea has developed a fear of sharp objects, which delights him as it fits into his larger, sinister plan.
Meanwhile, at Callista Manor, Lira and Lynn do their best to care for Psyche. Lira is disheartened, noting that no one has visited Psyche during this troubled time, and only a single pink rose brightens her spirits. They also observe that several servants who previously disliked Psyche have left the manor to work elsewhere, prompting them to investigate further.
In another scene, Lira overhears some servants speaking poorly of Psyche. Angered, he is on the verge of confronting them when the Countess intervenes. Lira can’t help but wonder why the Countess isn’t taking more action to support Psyche as she watches her leave. Days pass, and Your Throne Chapter 194 concludes with Medea’s wedding dress completed, marking just one day before the wedding.
Your Throne Chapter 195: Trip
Your Throne Chapter 195 opens with Psyche dreaming about Helio inviting her to a wedding before she awakens. She encounters her father, Count Callista, at the stairway. He reveals he is going on a trip and offers to take her along, expressing concern that she might feel upset about Eros’s upcoming wedding. Psyche is nonchalant about the wedding but grows worried for Medea. After realizing her father’s connection to Eros, she decides to confront him.
Psyche expresses a desire to go to the beach with her father. As she prepares to leave, the Countess bids her goodbye, but Psyche senses something off about her mother. As they set off, she rides in a carriage with Count Callista and her nanny. Feeling very thirsty during the ride, she recalls a moment in her dream when her mother described her father as a virtuous knight who defeats dragons.
While in the carriage, Psyche’s nanny drinks from the water carrier, and Psyche asks for water as well. Her father urges her to be patient until they stop, but Count Callista interrupts the tranquillity when he breaks the silence. He mentions he made a bet with himself: he would reveal everything to Psyche if she accompanied him. He hands her a letter from Eros, indicating that he wants Psyche so he can be free. Shocked, Psyche composes herself and questions her father’s motives, expressing her dismay that he has sided with Eros and accusing him of betraying her mother. Nervous that the nanny may have overheard their conversation, she is stunned when Count Callista claims that the nanny is dead, having poisoned the water she drank. Your Throne Chapter 195 concludes with Count Callista telling Psyche not to act clueless and urging her to remember.
Chapter 196: The True Light
Your Throne Chapter 196 begins with Psyche realizing that had she carelessly drunk the water, she would have been dead too. Count Callista urges her to stay alert and draw his sword as he attacks the coachman, who swiftly dodges the strike. Callista senses the coachman is no ordinary foe, and the two engage in a fierce battle. The carriage sways violently, knocking Psyche off her feet. As the coachman attempts to retaliate against Callista, Psyche intervenes, stabbing him from behind. Count Callista then delivers the final blow, killing the coachman.
In the chaos, the reins slip from the horses’ control, and the carriage teeters on the edge of a cliff. Psyche desperately reaches for her father’s hand but fails to grasp it as the carriage plummets. In that harrowing moment, she remembers her mother’s death, which happened the day she emerged from the basement. Reacting swiftly, Count Callista breaks the door to rescue her, pulling her from the wreckage just in time.
The scene shifts as they mount a nearby horse and make their escape. Count Callista expresses his regret that she couldn’t save Lira. He then reveals the truth about the oracle, exposing it as a lie: Eros is not the light destined to bring prosperity across the continent. Instead, Callista explains, Eros is merely nourishment for the true light. As Your Throne Chapter 196 concludes, the revelation strikes—Psyche is that light.
Your Throne Chapter 197: Desires
Your Throne Chapter 197 opens with Psyche struggling to accept that she is the light. Count Callista questions her belief in him, emphasizing that she should be cautious and never trust anyone blindly. This leaves Psyche in turmoil, doubting whether her father truly cares for her. They enter a dark cave, where her father begins to explain the complex history surrounding their lineage.
He reveals that a hero who originally meant to be a sacrifice founded the Vasilios Empire. Using a mysterious power, he defied his fate, conquered the land, and named the empire after himself. Furthermore, Mone explains that their bloodline possesses unique traits, producing children capable of wielding divinity. The ruler meant these children to serve him, but after generations of failures, they became knights dedicated to the Pope.
A flashback reveals moments from Mone’s past as he stands by his dying father’s side, who urges him to remain faithful to the Pope. Mone’s father then hints at the Pope’s desires, suggesting an obsession with divinity, and advises his son that he should not be surprised by Pope Lucius’s ambitions.
Returning to the present, Mone confides in Psyche that the previous Pope sought to father a child of divinity, which led to his union with Psyche’s mother. However, this venture ended in failure. This revelation takes advantage of Psyche. Mone then recounts how he met her mother, taking the narrative back to the past when Pope Lucius tasked him with finding a suitable mate. Your Throne Chapter 197 concludes with Mone being presented with two twin girls offered as potential brides.
Chapter 198: New Life
Your Throne Chapter 198 begins with the Pope presenting two girls to Mone as potential wives. Although hesitant, Mone is urged by the Pope to accept this fate, who promises him status and an estate to share with his future wife. Mone ultimately chooses the woman who enters with a smile, believing her demeanour indicates she will be docile. While Mone seems indifferent to the choice, the other sister stands shocked by his decision.
The Pope evict Mone but force him to swear his allegiance outside the temple. He leaves to embrace a new life, eventually becoming the master of Callista Manor and attaining the title of Count. In a tender moment, while sharing a bed, Mone’s wife thanks him for choosing her. She shares that the Pope rescued her and her sister from the slums and reveals that they underwent certain tests. Intrigued, Mone learns that she and her sister offered their blood as part of this process, and he affectionately names her Eve.
As the narrative unfolds, the temple has always shrouded and safeguarded the Callista family in mystery. Mone feels disheartened when he realizes that another blonde man favoured by the Pope has replaced him. One day, while walking through town, Eve is insulted by a woman, and Mone steps in to defend her, marking the beginning of their beautiful relationship. However, Your Throne Chapter 198 takes a dark turn when Mone receives a letter from the Pope demanding that he produce a daughter, warning that if they have a son, the Pope will personally see to his demise.
Your Throne Chapter 199: The Birth Of The Light
Your Throne Chapter 199 begins with Mone reeling from the Pope’s unsettling words. Troubled yet determined, he reassures himself that the Pope is always right. Shortly after, Eve gives birth to a girl, and Mone feels a wave of relief; at least he won’t have to worry about producing the “wrong” baby. The couple shares a moment of happiness, but it quickly fades when Mone’s aide suddenly takes the baby away to deliver her to the Pope. Despite Mone’s protests, the aide insists it is the Pope’s order. Eve stands frozen in shock, and Mone comforts her with promises to bring their baby back.
When Mone arrives at the temple, the Pope informs him that the child is the “chosen one” and will now reside in the temple. Mone, however, firmly refuses, stating that he will raise his daughter himself. The Pope, taken aback for a moment, ultimately concedes but imposes two conditions: the child must be taken to the temple regularly for testing, and she must be kept hidden at all times.
As Mone prepares to leave the temple, Eve’s sister confronts him, questioning why he chose Eve over her. Mone finds her confession repulsive and rejects her feelings. Your Throne Chapter 199 concludes with Mone rudely rejecting a lady’s request to see the baby’s face before returning home to Eve with their child and naming her Psyche.
Chapter 200: Swapping Souls
Your Throne Chapter 200 begins with Mone and Eve discovering a secret basement inside their house. Mone is surprised to see Eve so quickly adapting to live in the basement and questions her submissive nature. Eve retorts that he chose her because he thought she was docile. Mone now feels guilty for those words he said. They get a family portrait and his wife and child lived in the basement for ten years. Meanwhile, rumours go around surrounding the Callista family saying the baby they had was a monster. Mone had started to come to the basement less and less which prompted Eve to confront him. They have a light quarrel regarding the Pope but Eve does not listen to anything bad about the Pope.
Mone mangoes to comfort her but he knows now that the Pope is not virtuous. In the next scene, Mone asks about Eve to her twin sister. The sister however doesn’t answer his questions and playfully asks for a name for her too. He realises that talking to her is futile so he goes to the library to find answers. Though he took some time, he realised that the Pope wanted to use Psyche to bring divinity to the land. But Mone is still confused about how the Pope knew that Eve should be the chosen one. Mone suddenly rewinds his moments with Eve and realises something shocking. Your Throne Chapter 200 concludes with him confronting Eve if the unique test was swapping bodies with her twin sister and Eve replies yes.
Your Throne Chapter 201: No Escape
Your Throne Chapter 201 begins with Eve revealing to Mone that both she and her sister have the ability to swap bodies and that she is currently inhabiting her sister’s form. This revelation devastates Mone. It turns out that this body-swapping was a unique test, and while others attempted it, only Eve and her sister succeeded. The Pope persuaded them that God had chosen them. Mone, feeling disgusted by his blind faith in the Pope, realizes that the Pope used Eve and her sister to create the perfect child for his ambitions. Understanding the danger his child faces due to his unwavering loyalty, Mone resolves to flee to a new world with Eve and Psyche.
Determined, Mone starts searching for a way to escape the Pope’s control without attracting attention. As he explores the unfamiliar terrain, he imagines a peaceful life in a faraway place with his family. However, uncontrollable bleeding abruptly cuts his excitement short, and he faints. When he regains consciousness, he finds himself in the Pope’s room, with Lucius at his side, questioning him about his rebellion. The Pope exposes her role in harvesting Mone, Eve, and Psyche for her own agenda. She reveals that a divine power controls Mone, which was infused into the wine he consumed when he pledged his allegiance. If he strays too far from the temple, he will die. Filled with disgust and frustration towards the Pope’s manipulative tactics, Mone is caught off guard when the Pope suddenly kisses him, leaving him in shock as Your Throne Chapter 201 concludes.
Chapter 202: Downfall
Your Throne Chapter 202 begins with Mone, repulsed by the Pope’s methods, pushing her away. Mone struggles to balance his faith with the harsh reality he faces. The Pope offers to show him the truth of the world and leads him to glimpse the Abyss.
After this unsettling experience, Mone returns home and goes straight to his bedroom, overwhelmed with grief as he grapples with the truth about God. He becomes a shell of his former self, isolating himself from everyone, including Psyche and Eve. As time passes, Psyche grows to four years old. Meanwhile, Eve is desperate for news about Mone. When a maid brings them food and new clothes, Eve inquires about her husband. The maid simply responds that Mone hasn’t visited, leaving Eve heartbroken. In her desperation, she injures herself, hoping to attract Mone’s attention, but the servants ignore her cries.
Seeing her mother in pain, a four-year-old Psyche uses her divine abilities to heal Eve. While holding her daughter in a tender embrace, Eve asks if her father has come to see her. Psyche sadly shakes her head and asks what a dad is. Eve explains that Mone is a knight busy fighting for them because the outside world is dangerous. She reassures herself that Mone is simply occupied and will return soon.
Later, Eve receives a letter from the Pope, informing her that Psyche is now ready for her first test, as she is five years old. Your Throne Chapter 202 concludes with the Pope instructing Eve to place Psyche inside a chest and send her to the temple.
