ToggleWhy Did Rachel Turn Against Bam?
Rachel is revealed to be the villain in the first season of Tower of God anime. But what made her turn against Bam? Rachel’s only dream is to climb the Tower but when she arrives Headon informs her that “the tower wasn’t calling you” and denies her entry. However, this wasn’t the case with Bam whom Headon refers to as a “savior”. This further intensifies Rachel’s intense jealousy towards Bam.
However, Headon offered an opportunity to climb the tower and prove her worth: “If you can bring [Bam’s] life to a close, I will allow you to climb the tower.” The condition is that she does it with her own hands. She finally got the opportunity to fulfill this order in Episode 12 in their shared bubble underwater, where she ended Bam’s climb in the Tower to continue her own.

Lero-Ro And Quant’s New Roles
After the Underwater Hunt, Khun interrogates Test Director Hansung, his superior for the last time. Hansung Yu refuses to verify his participation in Rachel’s actions, saying that it was her own decision. Lero-Ro being displeased with the response throws in the towel. When he breaks this news to Quant, he adds that “new talent” is coming; meaning Quant is being replaced as a Ranker too. However, this doesn’t mean the fans won’t get to see more of Quant and Lero-Ro in the series.
Tower of God Anime: What Happened to the Regulars?
When Rachel emerges from the Shinsu pool, she tells Bam’s worried teammates that the Bull finished him. Lero-Ro later confirms that they all passed the challenge however; their celebration is married by Rak’s cy over the loss of Black Turtle. To honor Bam, his teammates promised to take Bam’s greatest love Rachel to the peak of the tower as his last wish.
Although Rachel skillfully conceals her satisfaction at how well her plan worked out, Khun, being the observant schemer, still doesn’t trust Rachel. However, he still agrees with the group and continues to climb the Tower with Rachel. In passing such a significant test undertaken by Rankers, they proved that it is possible to tear down and rebuild the Tower’s power structure.
What Happened to Twenty-Fifth Bam in Tower of God Anime?
Considering Tower of God is Bam’s story, it’s certainly not the end of him. On the ocean floor, one-eyed assassin Hwaryan approaches Bam’s motionless body which lies in a protective Shinsu bubble. In the final episode, the viewers find out that Hwaryan is a Guide, like Evan to Yuri, meaning she has unrestricted freedom of movement in the Tower.
When Bam comes to terms with his friend’s betrayal, Hwaryan insists Bam keep climbing the Tower, suggesting that his purpose is bigger. She also offers to train him, and Bam accepts the offer, renewing his journey to climb the peak of the Tower.
When the end credits roll, an unknown character stands with their back to the viewers, on the battlefield. It is likely a time skip between Tower of God anime Season 1 and Season 2.
