The Mafia Nanny Chapter 67: The Galicians Did It!
The Mafia Nanny Chapter 67 begins with Mikey and Davina shocked seeing Louis’s nanny Jo being boarded on the cruise. She immediately informs Gabriel, “Port Olympic in Barcelona, they sailed from Marseille in the night.” Gabriel, Val, and Nico are ready with their luggage and weapons.
On the other hand, Madame Lavigne has a speaker-like device in her hand, pondering if this was a mistake. She slips it into the bag of two dozen madeleines that Mikey ordered for Louis. She didn’t hear much, but enough – Barcelona is the destination! Back on the ship, Jo is trying to console Louis, saying her mother will come to rescue them.
Although Davina crushed the device, she isn’t mad at Lavigne for spying. Upon arrival, Gabriel learns about this and concludes that Lavigne will be in Barcelona as well. Davina throws a tough ball, “But, as a friend or foe?” He thinks it’s safe if Davina and Mikey stay back, but she is reluctant. Gabriel asks if she wants to tag along to protect him, making her take a step back. “I haven’t forgotten about that night,” and he walks away, leaving Davina in shock. The Mafia Nanny Chapter 67 ends with Davina thinking, “It was too much to hope he’d forget how I showed my hand. But what is ‘so be it’ supposed to mean?”
The Mafia Nanny Chapter 68: Jo Learns About the Trade
The Mafia Nany Chapter 68 begins with Jo suffering from seasickness while Louis asks her if she can break the window. Louis misses Mikey because if he were here, he would have found out a way to escape this place. He hears them mention “Angelini,” and Jo eavesdrops, having a basic understanding of the Galician language. He learns that there is going to be a trade of a boy, but both families will be finished. They have no intention of letting go of Louis. He says he has “a plan.”
On the other hand, Davina learns from the web that the deal will not go as planned. Gabriel asks if it’s Lavigne; however, she has nothing to trade. The trade will happen at midnight in the Gothic quarter. Having a fearful assumption of where this is going, Davina says they need to split up.
Louis Escapes the Cruise
Gabriel, Nico, and Val decide to go to the Gothic Quarter because that’s where Breixo will likely be. Davina, Mikey, and Adam will go to the Marina and get the boat. Although, unlike Davina’s method, Gabriel hands her a gun in case she needs it to protect Mikey.
On the other hand, Jo has managed to break the window. (So this was Louis’s plan, hats off to the little kid’s bravery!) Jo instructs her to find a big group and ask them for a phone and call any number he has memorized. Determined, he promises to come back and rescue her. But Jo sternly says, “Don’t. Whatever you do, don’t come back here, Louis. Just warn the Angelinis.” As he seems scared to jump, Jo says he doesn’t have to do it. However, he thinks of Mikey’s face and says, “Yes, I do.” The Mafia Nanny Chapter 68 ends with Jo pushing the door so the gang members can’t enter the chamber because “Louis needs more time and I’ve got to give it to him.”Â
The Mafia Nanny Chapter 69: Mikey Was the Goal
The Mafia Nanny Chapter 69 begins with Breixo rushing his gang members to summon the boat team because they need Louis as a face of the trade. However, his intention is clear: “We make the trade, then kill them all.” AND the hero of the story enters, well, the Mafia underboos! “You look stressed, Breixo. Anything I can help with?” He points the gun at Gabriel and says he would have gotten to him in due course.
Bringing Cassiel’s betrayal into the conversation, he insinuates that old dynasties are only concerned about succession. So, his theory is to cut the line from the next generation – start with the kids! He takes the conversation on a serious level and says, “Your daddy didn’t let you read the Angelini playbook before he got himself blown up?” Gabriel asks, “I don’t see what ancient history has to do with your betrayals.” Smirking, Breixo replies, “…Just ask your Nanny!” (What if he is not bluffing? What if he knows something about Davina?)
What Happened to Breixo?
Davina, Mikey, and Adam are hiding on the boat while the informer nanny, Lucia, appears, saying she thought Davina might need some backup. They see something is going down from the boat. Adam and Lucia go ahead to face the Galicians, while Davina and Mikey stay back, with a lot of resistance from Mikey’s side.
On the other hand, Nico and Val enter the scene while Breixo is busy talking to his members about the delay of the boat. Breixo asks Gabriel if he has something to do with it and discloses that Lavigne turned down the offer. (If there was an offer for Lavigne, it means Mikey was the real deal. So, who is this new taker?) The moment Breixo was about to shoot Gabriel, Nico and Val took control of the situation. Within a few seconds, Breixo was on his knees in front of the underboss. “Call your men. Tell them to release the boy unharmed or you die like a rabid dog.” The Mafia Nanny Chapter 69 ends with Breixo refusing to follow his words, and as Gabriel points the gun at him, a bomb blasts.
