The Remarried Empress Chapter 33 shows Navier learning about Rashta’s stabbing. Her ladies-in-waiting inform her that Viscount Landre, an ardent admirer of Duchess Tuania, attacked Rashta. Duke Ergi came rushing and pulled the offender off Rashta. The Empress inquires about her health, and the scene shifts to an unconscious Rashta, flanked by the Emperor and a doctor. Duke Ergi enters to see his friend and is mildly surprised when Sovieshu doesn’t object to his attendance in her chamber.
The doctor examining Rashta jumps up and announces that the mistress is with a child. Sovieshu takes the congratulations with slight shock. He visits the Empress later and intimates the news to her. Navier quietly makes her disinterest and displeasure clear even though Sovieshu says that his first child is illegitimate. She is upset by the news but finds Queen, frozen in shock, in her window. Being her comfort space and loyal friend, he rushes, his wings spread wide to hug her.
Heinrey later visits her as himself, offering comfort, but is flustered when she agrees to hug him. His human body is not accustomed to her warm touches, unlike Queen’s. They chat together, and an easy and comfortable conversation flows between them. The Remarried Empress Chapter 33 ends with Duchess Tuania desperately begging Navier to save the arrested Viscount Landre.
The Remarried Empress Chapter 34: Dealing with a Prisoner
In The Remarried Empress Chapter 34, Duchess Tuania pleads with Navier to save Viscount Landre’s life. Navier knows it will become a hard job but agrees to do it anyway. The Duchess is extremely grateful for her benevolence and vows to return the favor someday.
Navier visits Viscount Landre, the poor man beaten up during his interrogation session with Sovieshu. She informs him that Rashta is pregnant and he shall be executed under Sovieshu’s orders. Landre explains how he discovered the rumors that Lotteshu spread amongst villagers under Rashta’s order. He reveals his investigations were safe in his drawers.
Navier reads a report about Rashta giving away the ruby ring to Lotteshu. She visits the Emperor and requests him to reduce Landre’s sentence to banishment. In response, he disagrees and asks her to stay out of this matter. She commits that if he wants to handle Landre’s punishment according to the law, she shall handle Rashta according to the law as well.
Chapter 35: Farewell to a Friend
The Remarried Empress Chapter 35 opens with Navier threatening to punish Rashta for circulating false rumors about Duchess Tuania and tarnishing her honor in high society. Sovieshu is furious at her declaration, but he composes himself. He asks for Landre’s investigation on Rashta, but Navier refuses to hand them over until he retracts the sentence. He reluctantly grants her wish and stores the papers.
Meanwhile, Queen delivers a farewell letter to Navier. Heinrey writes that his frail older brother is sicker, and he will return before it turns for the worst. In The Remarried Empress Chapter 36, Rashta anxiously listens to Ergi’s report. After signing his cheque for ten thousand kranz to meet Lotteshu’s expenses, he catches her off guard, asking if she is curious about the child’s gender. The scene shifts to Navier, with her chamberers updating her on the latest news about the elite society. They tell her about Sovieshu treating Rahsta like a treasure after she woke up and Duke and Duchess Tuania’s divorce. She also learns that Lotteshu is trying to find a mansion and nanny in the capital.
Navier suddenly finds the love potion she received as a birthday present from an unknown well-wisher. Her maids encourage her to use it on the Emperor, but she doesn’t entertain the idea. The next day, she seeks out Grand Duke Kaufman after their trade-related meeting to learn more about the potion. He says it shall not create love but rather affect the physical characteristics of a person. He also mentions using it on the Emperor, but when Navier refuses, he drinks it himself.

Navier tries to hold peace, but the Emperor taunts Kaufman and threatens to dissolve their trade agreements before leaving with his soldiers.

Verdi’s ignorance on the matter distresses her further, and her suggestion to use her kid as a pawn agitates her senselessness. Later, Lotteshu ambles in, demanding more money for his move into the capital and nursing her son.
Navier makes her way down the South Palace when she notices Rashta meeting up with Ergi. Ergi and Navier make eye contact but nothing more. She coincidently meets Heinrey, who seems to have been looking for her. They once again walk together, but this time, it is the last one before Heinrey departs. They agree to continue exchanging letters. He later informs Sovieshu of his return, and the latter happily bids him a safe journey back. On his way back, he stops by Ergi’s room for a quick word.
Later in the evening, Navier hears that Duchess Tuania has failed her divorce trial and is leaving the capital with Landre. In her letter to Navier, she earnestly thanks Navier for helping her and promises her assistance if she ever needs it in the future. The Empress is melancholic, having lost all her close companions overnight.

In The Remarried Empress Chapter 33-40, Navier gradually realizes just how much Heinrey has imprinted his presence in her tumultuous life. He is the companion who could quip around in grave situations. She also realizes just how hypocritical Sovieshu is.
