ToggleRefund High School Chapter 31: Gym Examination
Refund High School Chapter 31 begins with Aru holding back the urge to cheat as all the options seem correct. Meanwhile, the floating class assistants wonder if they should hold her accountable or not. And with that, the ethics exam is over and now we have history and gym exams coming up.
The students have gathered in the auditorium for the gym exam, and the details and guidelines of the exam are as follows:
- The teacher mentions how being reincarnated and attaining Nirvana require a tremendous amount of physical strength and stamina.
- The gym exam will be both, their first exam to prepare for the reincarnation test and a practice for crossing the river Styx.
- Students will have to pass through the designated area from start to finish as quickly as possible.
The first set of students to do the activity are Aru Kim, Sua Oh, Gunn Ryu, Stretch Nam, and Thorny Seon.
Sua is already tensed as she fears the water. Mook is also asking the gym teacher whether he can be excused as he can’t jump in the water. However, the gym teacher refuses to grant him some special treatment. We discover why the stepping hurdles sink when someone steps on them because it responds to the weight of your soul. Next is Aru and she sees that her soul is heavier in weight and suddenly slips into the water but our hero, Gunn saves her. But everyone looks behind and Sua is drowning in the water. I am really curious about Sua’s past life.

Refund High School Chapter 32 begins with the assistant squirrels saving Sua from drowning. The next group includes Mari, Mook, and Sehui. Everyone is worried except Mari. In order to complete the next stage Aru and Gunn would have to clear a maze. This maze brings back the memories of the photo room but then Gunn gets interrupted by Yeohee.
She comes to him and says in a passive-aggressive voice – “Something really happened between you and Aru, right?” “Who told you? How do you know?”, replied Gunn. “Aru herself mentioned it to me. I can help you get her back; you just need to listen to her needs and give her some space. Also, stop posting those depressed photos on Ghostagram, Aru hates it!”
Yeohee tells Gunn that there’s only one way to solve the issue – JEALOUSY! Aru and Gunn are on their third activity, where Aru suddenly slips her one leg from the stepping stone but Gunn saves her. After all this, Gunn also overthinks if he should have a conversation with Aru. He eventually apologizes to Aru by hugging her. Let’s see where this topic turns in the next chapter, I hope they continue this bond, I know I’m contradicting my previous thoughts but I kind of like this bond now.

The gym exam is finally over and everyone is reliving their already dead life, except Yeohee, who thinks how can someone ignore her? And that too Gunn? How dare he? The students are back in their class with a sense of relief but the history teacher informs them that they will have to prepare for the topic they were given in the class. Meanwhile, after watching Gunn’s handwriting Aru understands Gunn is not her secret buddy.
Aru’s group was given the topic of King Yemma the Fifth. She then sits on the simulation chair and is now suddenly in the war field as a ‘General.’ She hears people rushing and her fellow soldier tells her to rush and destroy the bridge as they can’t fight the enemies. General Aru was almost ready, but she saw two civilians – a small girl, and her mother struggling on this side of the bridge. She first helps them cross the bridge and then proceeds to destroy the bridge. ‘THUD! THUMP!’ the sounds come out loud and the first test ends.

Refund High School Chapter 34 begins with the history examination. Aru is now on a hospital bed – ‘pregnant!’ and she has to decide whether she wants to save the baby by doing a surgery that might harm both the baby and the mother, and eventually bring her into a coma. She couldn’t think much and the second test ended with no answer.
In the third test, a puppy is lying down with band-aids because of the malignant tumour blocking the pathway from its gastro intestine to the duodenum. And, the only way to solve the problem is by going the hard way of giving it euthanasia. Aru again goes into shock and the history teacher turns off the simulator as her heartbeats aren’t normal. She finally comes out of the simulation with a better view of life and death.
Then there’s a huge line of people who unfortunately died in the earthquake. The line was of 439 people in total. King Yeamma and her fellow mates are upset as they weren’t aware of the natural disaster until it was just about to happen.
In the next scene, Aru and Gunn are now discussing the test and activities. Aru then moves to her locker and upon opening it finds more gifts from her secret buddy – melon-flavored macaroons with a cute note appreciating her hard work.
Aru then comes off to her room with a handful of melon-flavoured macaroons. In the next scene, we have the announcement of mid-term results, and the ones who cross 5%, get the triple memory capsule. To no one’s surprise, the winner is Mook. Sehui and Thorny missed the chance by only one question. This makes Thorny angrier and he is certain Mook has a bad way of getting things done.
Refund High School Chapter 35: Mook’s Past Life
The history teacher is now late to his class and he sees that the results are out. And Mook will now be rewarded with the triple memory capsule. Hearing this news, he rushes to the music teacher and asks why they chose Mook. To which the music teacher replies, yesterday we had an emergency meeting, where you were not present. They went with the majority and chose Mook. The history teacher requests him to consider Mook’s past life experiences. However, the music teacher thinks he is afraid Mook will misuse his powers and end up like Dante.
This whole conversation also had a secret member – Chiyeol. He hears all of it and says, “There’s someone else with superpowers other than Dante? That’s interesting!”
Mook’s Childhood And Realization As Sea Serpent
Wondering about his past life, Mook swallows the memory capsule we finally learn Mook’s history. The creator portrays Mook’s memory:
A beautiful village on the seaside, where children are playing, including small Mook and his friends. A Large scary beast comes around and is ready to pounce on them. However, Mook suddenly brings the electric power out of his hands and kills the beast, saving his other friends. Everyone in the village discusses how Mook is so strong and always helps everyone – be it rushing off the wolves from the fam, removing an alligator-sized snake, or helping a fellow villager to take things out for shifting.
Mook returns home and his mom warns, “I keep telling you’ll never become a dragon if you get yourself hurt. You’re our family’s last hope to become a dragon and appease our ancestors!” In the next scene, there is a large tsunami wave coming towards the village and everyone is shouting Mook’s name for help. However, his mom wants him to rush back to the cave and hide, as the storm will get worse. Mook, on the other hand, being a brave soul, declines this, and says, “I’m sorry Mom” and rushes back towards the storm to save people, saying “THEY NEED ME!” Refund High School Chapter 35 ends with Mook turning into a sea serpent.
Refund High School Chapter 36: Mook’s Death

Mook finally wakes up and sees Aru and Gunn standing in front of him. She says, “I saw you unconscious on the floor so I brought you here with Gunn.” On the other hand, Thorny overheard the conversation between ethics and the music teacher talking about an examination leak. He immediately thinks that it’s Mook. He then goes to the ground announcing that he got big news- “There was an exam leak!’ ‘And I definitely think it’s Mook! Why does he live with our homeroom teacher? I saw it with my own eyes!” Refund High School Chapter 36 ends with students believing Mook is the culprit.
