My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 11-20

My Bias Gets on the Last Train, a popular romance drama for every music lover, follows Haein and Yeowoon’s wholesome strangers-to-friends relationship that blossomed from a few coincidental train station run-ins. Yeowoon, a superfan of Long Afternoon, an indie, anonymous music band, bonds with Haein over their mutual love for music. The twist? He doesn’t know that she’s the genius behind his favourite artist. Previously in My Bias Gets on the Last Train, Haein and Yeowoon spend a night together, becoming close friends. Haein- or Long Afternoon- collaborates with a famous musician, and the band also announces a new song (cue Yeowoon’s unbridled excitement). What will My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 11-20 hold?

My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 11: Where There’s Blue Smoke… There’s Fire

Yeowoon and Haein's Listening Party
Yeowoon and Haein’s Listening Party

My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 11 begins as Haein takes a shower, while Yeowoon waits patiently outside, before starting their Long Afternoon listening party. Yeowoon, still flustered by Haein’s unexpected drop-in, starts wondering if he should regularly tidy up his apartment in anticipation of more impromptu visits. While he ponders buying aroma lamps to spruce up his bachelor pad, Haein asks him for a towel from the bathroom. After an intense episode of hurriedly finding a clean towel, nervously handing it to Haein, and remembering how to breathe after, Yeowoon collapses onto his floor with a heavy sigh.

‘Why am I so nervous over something like this?’ he wonders, putting on a remix of Buddhist chants to calm himself down. A few deep breaths later, Yeowoon is approached by Haein, dressed in a loose, oversized shirt, effectively reversing all the benefits of his meditation. Yeowoon, blushing fiercely, gives her one of his jackets to wear instead.

Before they get the ball rolling, Yeowoon asks Haein how she’d managed to wrap up her busy day at the studio so fast. Rewind the record to a few hours ago, when Haein was recording her new single with Hyeonjae and the Long Afternoon band. She’d sped through the entire recording session, which is completely unlike her (although she never compromised on quality, obviously)- much to the bewilderment of everyone else. Hyeonjae had watched her with a dreamy look on his face before she’d rushed out on his offer to celebrate with drinks.

Meanwhile, back at Yeowoon’s apartment, Haein brandishes an expensive-looking bottle of whiskey. They clink their glasses together, and Yeowoon downs the entire drink in one gulp- and quickly regrets it. The two fans (well, one fan and one pretender who’s secretly the admired artist in question) plug in their earphones to listen to Long Afternoon’s new song, Blue Smoke, at the same time. Resting her head on her knees, Haein listens to her song, remembering the countless hours she’d dedicated to the track. ‘A part of me is preserved in this song,’ she thinks. Just knowing that her music was being heard was enough to send her to cloud nine.

She watches Yeowoon with curiosity, wondering how the superfan would react to it. Either he’d euphorically gush with utter adoration, or he’d be disappointed; nevertheless, she was just happy he was listening. ‘Of course, I’d prefer if he liked it…’ she admits to herself. She glimpses Yeowoon’s emotionless face and tries to decode it before seeing the tears in his eyes. “The lyrics really resonated with me,” he explains, wiping his tears away, “It hit me deeply.”

He asks Haein for her input, and she explains the technical parts she loved, feeling at a loss for much else (what could she say about her own song?). Sitting in Yeowoon’s living room with a drink and a full heart, Haein suddenly longs to party like this all the time. My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 11 concludes as, at the same time, Yeowoon wonders why he kept feeling the urge to embrace Haein- was it because of the whiskey… or how he truly feels?

My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 12: An Embrace with an Epiphany on the Side

Yeowoon and Haein sleeping togehter

My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 12 begins as Haein shares an anecdote about the Beatles’ first arrival in the USA that cracks up Yeowoon. She explains how, through her melophile uncle, she’d discovered the English rock band at a young age and had become inspired to create her own music. “I want to have my voice heard hundreds of years from now…” she says.

The tone of the conversation turns from light-hearted (they mused about alien invasions) to serious when Yeowoon asks Haein if she had any songs of her own. A strange feeling tells him that she’d be a great singer. Unsurprisingly, Haein denies it and doesn’t mention that she’s the genius behind Long Afternoon, the band with which he’s mega-obsessed.

Yeowoon, tired after his stressful midterms, decides to indulge Haein’s special cocktail recipe another time. Haein rests her head on his lap and begins journaling about her day on a quirky space-themed app. She calls his thigh ‘the perfect balance between soft and firm’- and ideal for a pillow. As they joke about using each other to go to sleep, the tension in the room becomes more and more palpable. Haein tests Yeowoon’s courage to hug her and holds her arms wide open, “I won’t stop you.”

Almost immediately, he embraces her with a force that knocks them to the floor (apparently, we’re not playing it cool anymore). Haein’s heart races with the unexpected action– and then she realizes he’d fallen asleep on top of her. In just a matter of minutes, that too! She drags the heavy man to his room and hoists him onto his bed, showing off her strong, music-equipment-carrying muscles. Haein watches him sleep like a baby for a second, and then, remembering that he didn’t mind before, lies down beside him.

A Pillow for a Good Night’s Sleep

Hugging him, she breathes in the smell of his laundry detergent and feels her thoughts get carried away. She’d dared him to hug her, never believing that he actually would. But he wasn’t the one who lacked courage… she was. Haein was living in the shadows, hiding from her true identity as Long Afternoon; she was too afraid to be seen for who she really was. ‘Maybe I’m the coward,’ she realizes with an epiphany.

The next morning, Yeowoon wakes up with a terrible hangover, wondering what had happened the night before. He hugs the small blanket bundle beside him and wonders why it seems firmer than usual. Wait… oh no. Haein pops out of the sheets, scaring Yeowoon half to death, concluding Chapter 12.

Yeowoon and Haein in My Bias Gets On the Last Train Chapter 11-20

My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 13 begins as Yeowoon makes breakfast while Haein blow-dries her hair in the room. Although Yeowoon invites her to stay longer, Haein explains that she has to be back home by the afternoon. He doesn’t ask her to stop by whenever she wants to, even though he thinks it. Haein changes the topic, asking him if he worked out. She slyly explains that he seemed fit when he hugged her the night before, shocking him beyond words. He’d hugged her?! Showing no mercy, she also explains the intensity with which he’d said that he was ‘holding back’- humiliating him further. He’d said that?! She gets up with a mischievous smile and offers to do the dishes (what a power move).

Under Your Spell

The rest of the day, Yeowoon puts himself through an over-the-top fitness regime, convincing himself that it wasn’t because of Haein. Nevertheless, after running laps, he sprints home to work on his upper body with her teasing smile in mind.

Meanwhile, Haein sketches her next Long Afternoon post: a cute teddy that bears an uncanny resemblance to Yeowoon. Her bandmate startles her out of her thoughts, updating her on the Hyeonjae situation. The musician wanted Long Afternoon to do a music video with Haein’s face covered, for the promotion of their single. Inspired by the night before, she decides to take a page out of Yeowoon’s book of boldness and plucks up her courage to follow through with Hyeonjae’s video.

Later, Yeowoon heads to the cafe for his shift (with cramped muscles, completed assignments, Blue Smoke on repeat, and a sunny attitude). Instead of Ms. Oh, he finds the afternoon shift worker, Shinyoung, in the cafe to greet him. She explains that Ms. Oh had come down with a cold and had taken the day off. My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 13 concludes as she decides to stay and help him during his shift.

Shinyoung and Yeowoon Taking Care of the Cafe in Ms. Oh’s Absence

My Bias Gets on the Train Chapter 14 begins as Yeowoon calls Ms. Oh to check up on her while Shinyoung manages the cafe. As long as she was getting paid for overtime (Ms. Oh wasn’t happy about that part), she seemed to have no problem assisting Yeowoon. After making sure that Ms. Oh was fine, he rushed to help the enthusiastic part-timer with the orders.

Yeowoon begins to admire her confident attitude and optimistic outlook in the face of extra work. He recalls that he’d once been the same unworried youngster with no qualms about forming ephemeral relationships. Somewhere along the way, heartbreak and time had worn him down into a cautious man.

Crisis strikes when a customer orders fifteen different drinks and sandwiches for delivery. Of course, trouble appears at the worst possible time. As the duo puts their shoulders to the wheel, Yeowoon realizes how grateful he is for Shinyoung’s capability and reliability. Side by side, they get through the immense workload until it’s finally time to close the cafe. Yeowoon lets her go home early and wraps up by himself, thinking about Haein. It suddenly hits him that he’d never asked her for her age.

That night, when he meets her in the subway, she jokingly tells him that she’s thirty-nine. After light banter about how she likes being respectfully addressed by him as if she’s older, Haein finally admits that she’s twenty-one. The revelation stupefied Yeowoon, who at twenty-five years of age, had always thought she was older than him. Haein was already working, could mix up a cocktail, and seemed extremely mature. How could she be younger than him? Yeowoon mentally calls her a ‘precocious little fox’, concluding Chapter 14.

My Bias Gets on the Train Chapter 15: Get Ready for Some Beefin’

Haein and Hyeonjae

My Bias Gets on the Train Chapter 15 begins as Ms. Oh massages her neck with all her recent over-exertion taking its toll on her. ‘No money is scarier than death,” she says truthfully to Yeowoon. Later, her materialistic attitude flips one-eighty degrees, and she expresses her gratitude to him for being such a trustworthy employee… by begging him to spend his off day eating beef with her. Yeowoon, although hesitating at first, realizes he has nothing better to do. Why not eat barbecue with his boss on a day off? Before he can confirm, Ms. Oh suddenly stomps out in a huff, asking him to watch the counter.

Meanwhile, Hyeonjae debates both his own sound engineer’s impeccable instrumentals and Haein’s charmingly rustic ones for their track. The unmistakable snap of the camera shutter draws his attention to an inconspicuous stalker huddled in the cafe’s corner. A sudden sadness weighs on his heart when he realizes that he’d happily take a picture with a fan if they just asked. Not wanting to make a scene, he gets up to leave, when suddenly Ms. Oh comes blazing out. She stands up to the rude girl and shooes her out of the place for inconveniencing other customers. Hyeonjae apologizes for the trouble before walking out with his cappuccino.

Later, Yeowoon waits outside for Ms. Oh before their beef dinner. He checks his summer intern application before reminding himself to have fun and not stress out. He moves to play Long Afternoon, noticing a new cover of the band’s album when Ms. Oh arrives with Shinyoung in tow. The group enthusiastically heads towards the barbecue, and Shinyoung links her arm through his, confusing him thoroughly.

Meanwhile, Haein tries to work on a new melody. Pick in mouth and hand in hair, she only frustrates herself again and again. “Is it because I’m hungry?” she wonders, concluding Chapter 15.

My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 16 begins as Yeowoon advises Ms. Oh to drink in moderation; she’d just had a hangover. “Fight alcohol with alcohol,” she replies casually. Shinyoung watches their wholesome bickering with fascination and asks how close the two were. When Ms. Oh explains how they’d grown close over working together- sometimes even eating meals together- she queries whether they’d been ‘seeing each other’. Yeowoon chokes on his soju, trying to fathom why anyone would think such a thing.

According to Shinyoung, if a guy and girl spent time alone together, they were dating (she doesn’t seem as mature now, does she?). Ms. Oh goes along with the ridiculous sentiment by joking about seducing Yeowoon, while he flabbergastedly tries to reason with them.

Shinyoung further inquires if Yeowoon had a girlfriend. Although he awkwardly denies it, Ms. Oh highlights his situation with the girl from the subway; it passes for somewhat of a romantic relationship. Yeowoon thinks about Haein: they didn’t have each other’s numbers, but he still wanted to keep talking to her.

Meanwhile, Haein lies on the floor with her guitar, trying to put together her newest song with difficulty. Something just wasn’t yet right about it. Her uncle opens the studio room door to a surprising sight; his niece had never struggled with writing songs before. Haein tells him that- no matter how much of a natural she was- it wasn’t always easy. “And this time, for some reason, I really want to take my time and write a proper song,” she adds. Her uncle decides to take her out for food. The change would give Haein a new perspective and hopefully inspire some new ideas.

Who’s that with You?!

Later, Ms. Oh, Yeowoon, and Shinyoung stroll on the streets after their beef dinner. Although she’d already had one too many to drink, Ms. Oh parts ways with Yeowoon and Shinyoung to visit a whiskey bar. Yeowoon, who had an early morning lecture the next day, watches his boss stumble away with concern.

After she leaves, Shinyoung grabs his arm like before. She invites him out to another drink, wanting to ‘talk with him more’. When Yeowoon hesitantly tells her that he’s too tired, she wonders with displeasure if he was thinking about the girl he kept running into. Overstepping greatly, she tells him that they had a casual relationship; if he tried too hard, he might end up getting hurt. Yeowoon gently removes her hand and firmly says, “Even if that person is just playing around… I want to be serious.” He never played around with his emotions, never tried to conceal them- Yeowoon wore his heart on his sleeve.

Shinyoung watches him with admiration and exclaims that he was ‘such a good guy’. She links their arms again- a habit of hers- and explains that she just wanted to be good friends. Yeowoon rolls his eyes, realizing that intoxication was seizing control of her.

White zebra stripes run under their feet as they cross a road. At the same moment, someone he recognizes crosses in the opposite direction. A purple-haired girl with a man’s arm around her shoulder… Haein?! Yeowoon sees Haein with her uncle, and she sees him with Shinyoung, concluding Chapter 16 (this can’t end well, can it?).

My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 17: Some Form of Communication

Yeowoon and Haein in My Bias Gets On the Last Train Chapter 11-20
Yeowoon and Haein in My Bias Gets On the Last Train Chapter 11-20

My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 17 begins as Yeowoon imagines a miniature of himself drowning in the blue drink he mixes for table thirteen. Ms. Oh eventually takes the task from Yeowoon, who’d been spacing out the entire day, and commands him to get some fresh air. Images of Haein with the affectionate man flash before his eyes while he takes out the trash. Had he miscalculated their relationship? ‘I started wanting to have her all to myself,’ he realizes glumly.

Meanwhile, Haein morosely sits in a music studio with Hyeonjae. He plays a few new adjustments for her, but she only absent-mindedly gives her feedback. Hyeonjae recognizes her disinterest and reminds her of the importance of giving the song their best. There was so much hard work and so many expectations riding on their work. They couldn’t afford to slack off. His words get through to Haein, and she apologizes for not paying attention.

Hyeonjae sits beside her, transforming from a professional musician to a friend, and asks about what bothers her. Haein remembers Yeowoon, arm in arm with a girl, from the night before- and yells out in sudden frustration. “I really believed he wouldn’t deceive me…” she says, almost to herself. Hyeonjae advises her never to trust anyone completely. He tells her to meet people with low expectations so as to never feel disappointment, and Haein finds truth in his words. She’d always been scared of people and their unexpected reactions- the reason she never went public as Long Afternoon- but she’d never even considered Yeowoon a traitor. And despite all her rage, she admits to herself that she wanted to see him again.

Harmonic Dissonance

That night, Yeowoon sees Haein standing for the last train instead of sitting down. Adamantly, he decides that if she didn’t care whether they spoke or not, he wouldn’t make an effort either. Yeowoon stubbornly folds his arms and turns away from her. However, barely a second later, he angrily approaches her anyway.

“Let’s talk!” he says, straightforwardly beginning the conversation by asking Haein if she has a boyfriend. When she finally realizes that he was talking about her uncle, Yeowoon declines to believe her. Who would have such a young uncle?! Provoked, Haein confronts him about his own girlfriend. He tries to explain that he was having dinner with a clingy co-worker, but she doesn’t listen to reason either. Finally, Yewoon grabs Haein by her shoulders and tells her that he’ll prove his innocence, concluding Chapter 17.

My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 18 begins as Ms. Oh shops for beer to pair with a new K-drama she couldn’t wait to watch. Finally, her better judgment wins out and she decides not to drink any alcohol, especially since she had already the day before. While grumbling about the tragedy of aging, she suddenly runs into Yeowoon.

He introduces her to a pretty woman behind him, and Ms. Oh begins wondering if she could be his mystery subway girl. Yeowoon urgently asks her to clarify if they’d had a company dinner a few days ago. He also tells her to confirm that he and Shinyoung had a professional relationship and nothing else. Ms. Oh immediately understands the situation and readily tells Haein the truth about Shinyoung’s chronic clinginess. Once Ms. Oh had finished explaining, Yeowoon gave Haein a pointed I told you so look.

Ms. Oh offers to drive them home, but Haein declines the offer. She takes Yeowoon to prove her own story instead, apologizing for inconveniencing Ms. Oh before they leave. As the duo walks away, Ms. Oh finally caves in and turns back to buy a can of beer.

Meanwhile, Haein’s uncle loses another round of his video game. The doorbell rings, and his niece, without offering much explanation, asks him to confirm that he is her uncle. While he does clarify their relationship, they eventually end up bickering about how young he looked for his age. Yeowoon, smirking, watches them lovingly argue with each other. Haein’s uncle, after baffling Yeowoon by calling him Haein’s boyfriend, offers to drive them home. When Haein inquires how he might do such a thing, having no car of his own, he says that he’d just ‘borrow one’ since he had ‘connections’ in the neighbourhood.

After he leaves, Yeowoon feels terrible for making such a big deal out of the situation. Left alone in the chilly air, Haein tells him to forget the silly event and invites him inside to talk, concluding Chapter 18.

My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 19: Ten Times Is Not Enough

Yeowoon and Haein in My Bias Gets On the Last Train Chapter 11-20
Yeowoon and Haein in My Bias Gets On the Last Train Chapter 11-20

My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 19 begins as Haein offers her hand for a handshake. Yeowoon hesitates for a second, reprimanding himself for not taking the lead on repairing their friendship, but shakes her hand regardless. Haein comments on his ‘bigger than they look’ hands, and when Yeowoon jokes that she could stretch from C to C on the guitar (he means a piano; guitars have different structures), she brags that she could play from C to E on a piano. Just like that, their relationship returns to its usual dynamic.

They head inside, and Yeowoon plops down onto the sole beanbag, admiring all the music paraphernalia strewn across the apartment. He begins to wonder about Haein’s childhood and guesses that she must’ve been extremely pretty and popular back then. Haein brings them warm apple juice- the only thing she could find- before wedging herself next to him. The beanbag was a dinosaur and needed two people to make it feel remotely comfortable. They sit with their shoulders against each other while Yeowoon, once again, feels like he needs to take the lead in bringing them closer.

Say My Name

Yeowoon asks about Haein’s close relationship with her uncle. She explains that her older brother and parents had been busy when she was younger. Because of that, she spent a lot of time with her uncle. She cheekily adds that he’d been handsome back then, but now he was wrinkled and old (ouch, sorry man). Yeowoon smiles at the sentiment and asks to call her ‘Haein’ instead of ‘Hae In-ssi’. She finally gives in to his puppy-dog behaviour and adorable whining; she lets him call her ‘Haein’ ten times. He immediately chants her name, using all his ten chances at once.

Embarassed, Haein decides to give him a taste of his own medicine and repeats his name ten times too. The action makes Yeowoon blush furiously, and his heartbeat accelerates rapidly. Why would something so small give him such a big reaction?

Haein remembers Hyeonjae’s words about not trusting anyone too sincerely. But looking at Yeowoon, she decides, just for that night, she’d voluntarily jump into the deep end. She begins to tell Yeowoon about the time she’d been betrayed, concluding Chapter 19.

My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 20: The Reason Behind My Insecurity

Yeowoon and Haein in My Bias Gets On the Last Train Chapter 11-20
Yeowoon and Haein in My Bias Gets On the Last Train Chapter 11-20

My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 20 begins as Haein reflects on her high school days, singing and playing guitar for her so-called friends. Yeowoon assures her that she doesn’t have to go into detail; he will always be there to listen when she is ready. Haein takes a deep breath and forges ahead anyway.

Haein had made a few friends in school who kept her company, supported her music dreams, and always had her back. But the bliss of friendship hadn’t lasted long because, behind her back, they’d posted hate comments on her singing and endlessly made fun of her. The incident had never left her, and the insecurities still lingered. Whenever she made new friends, she always worried about what they might really think of her.

I’m Your Rock

Yeowoon slips his hand onto hers. He thanks her for opening up to him and assures her that everything he says is genuine. Haein smirks, knowing that he had no reason to console her. He had a terrible poker face, and his emotions were always displayed on his face. When he protests, she mischievously decides to test him by guessing what he feels. She takes his arm in hers, making him blush in surprise. Flustered with the contact, Yeowoon looks away. And when he gets a little too excited, she leaves to check on her uncle and calls him a ‘truly honest person’.

In the car her uncle had borrowed from a friend, he invited Yeowoon to a rock festival he was attending with Haein. Since he worked there, he could bring three friends for free. While Haein and her uncle argue about the car tunes, he debates the summer rock festival. Between job hunting and work, he probably wouldn’t have any time. Nevertheless, he hopes he can make it for Haein, concluding My Bias Gets on the Last Train Chapter 20.
