When the vampires are brooding, the werewolves are flirting, and the humans are entangled in age-old alliances, Love Bites webtoon offers a cast that is as chaotic as it is adorable. Whether it is the grumpy sketchpad-obsessed Kieran or the golden-retriever vibes of Mason, all the Love Bites characters bring spice to this supernatural slow-burn. This story does not want to abide by the established rules of the genre. You have best friends who have unresolved tension, centuries-old betrayals, mysterious back stories, and a whole lot of snarky banter in between.
However, it is not only the fantasy that makes Love Bites particularly striking, but the emotional sloppiness that is uncomfortably close to home. These characters are juggling love, loyalty, identity, and some very complex supernatural politics. While also trying to pass regular school. So, whether you are a Team Vampire member or a Werewolf supporter, here is your definitive guide to the fanged, furry, and unconditionally lovable characters of Love Bites. Prepare to love each of them even more!
Kieran: The Broody Sketchboy with Bite

Introspective, artsy, and an emotional roll of thunder on legs, Kieran is our vampire with conflicts as he attempts to reconcile his supernatural nature with a desperate need to live a normal (ish) life. Kieran has erected barriers as high as the castle of the Transylvanian Count. He is haunted by the death of his mother in a werewolf attack. Then there is Mason, an attractive, irritating werewolf, who enters the scene, and everything goes haywire. With the need to protect his best friend Cella, blood lust, and emotions he is not even ready to acknowledge, Kieran is living a supernatural soap opera. There is one more complexity, and it is his story as well as his feelings towards Mason.
Mason: The Flirty Wolf with a Heart

Mason is the enigmatic werewolf who walked into Carrington High as a talking contradiction. He is brash and tender, a ladies’ man with a deep heart, and a dangerously attractive man. His cocky exterior may be convincing to most people, but he has a hard time restraining his violent nature and is determined to show that he is not like the werewolves that ruined Kieran’s past. He has a hidden personality under all that sarcasm and banter. Mason really cares about Cella and, more so, about Kieran, even though their kiss made everything complicated. Werewolf pride? Check. Emotional confusion? Also check.
Cella: The Sunshine with a Spine

Cella is sunshine personified, and then some sass. The childhood best friend of Kieran and the emotional duct tape that keeps the mess together. She is sweet, loyal, and not at all scared of putting a full-stop on the drama when her boys begin squabbling like toddlers (which, let’s be honest, is constantly). She is balancing a sweet-but-complicated relationship with Mason, and werewolves, vampires, and centuries-old blood oaths are trying to get her mind around.
Cedric: The Vampire Prince of Snark

Cedric is the brooding older brother of Kieran and the ultimate nightwalker-in-training- sharp-fanged, sharp-tongued, and even sharper when it comes to battle strategy. He gives off the typical vampire energy: serious, strong, and intolerant of bullshit. Werewolves? Can not stand them. Humans? Tolerates them—barely.
Cedric is that big brother who would break you to make you strong by throwing you into the fire (in a loving way). To Cedric, power is equal to protection, and feelings are mere distractions that will kill you. He’s devoted to the bloodline first and most–but that devotion can sure seem like pressure. And though he would never say it, the hardest fight that Cedric ever fought may be with his own heart. As the story of the Love Bites characters unfolds, we will learn more about the heart behind the rage.
Casper: The Adorable Chaos Nephew

Casper is one of the most adorable Love Bites characters. He is the in-house ray of sunshine in a broody vampire family. He is the younger cousin of Kieran and the son of Carmen. He is half human and half vampire. A ball of pure heart and endless curiosity. He still thinks that bedtime stories must be characterized by happy endings and that love can overcome everything, including centuries-old werewolf-vampire feud. Casper sees an idol figure in Kieran and spends most of his time following him around and inadvertently melting the heart of every person in the story with his big-eyed inquiries and his hugs, which are capable of warming even the cold heart of Cedric.
Callisto: The Diplomatic Vampire Dad

Callisto is the leader of the vampire clan to which Kieran belongs. As he is the father, so every word he utters is backed by centuries of experience. He is the very image of a calm person who would always rather choose diplomacy instead of bloodshed and peace instead of turmoil. (Think of Carlisle Cullen from Twilight! Yes, he is one of the most handsome Love Bites characters.) But don’t be deceived. When it starts to go haywire, he can use his authority and muscle to close it down in a second. Callisto feels that the centuries-old rivalry between vampires and werewolves has been going on for long enough. He is now hell bent on establishing peace with the Kane Pack. Saying that, he is also a father, and with that comes expectation.
Luka: The Wolf Who Started the War

Luka is the name that vampire tales are told of in hushed tones. His name is used to scare the children in bedtime stories. He was a werewolf who had at one time won the trust of a noble vampire and had been the best friend of Rhys, till he became a betrayer. Luka was charming as well as intelligent. A dangerous combo. He is known to have used the friendship of Rhys as a means of gaining access to the vampire stronghold. All that just to cause havoc. It is his treachery that created the timeless rivalry between vampires and werewolves. Yet was he a power-mad villain? Or merely a desperate son avenging to rescue his pack? One can only guess…
The legacy of Luka is a matter of debate. Yet one thing is sure: he transformed everything. His name is remembered in coven halls, a testament to the fact that not every friendship endures secrets.
Rhys: The Noble Vampire Betrayed

The vampire prince of legend, Rhys, was born to a noble vampire family. Yet he longed to taste the freedom outside the castle walls. He needed adventure, and he got it in the shape of Luka, the werewolf, who was his best friend. Kind, inquisitive, and adventurous, Rhys put his life in the hands of Luka. That confidence was his downfall. The result of the betrayal by Luka was the massacre of the coven of Rhys. He then later disappeared from history. He was said to have fled. While others think he was pursued to the ends of the earth. Rhys is a symbol of the perils of blind faith. He also reminds the pain of thinking that love or friendship could conquer blood and centuries of hatred.
Laura Callisto: Kieran’s Mom

Kieran’s mom is looming large over everything amongst the Love Bites characters. Her death, at the hands of werewolves, was not merely tragic — it shaped Kieran and Cedric’s belief system. The nightmares, the lack of trust, the anger, it all traces back to her. She was the sister of Carmen and the partner of Callisto. Hence, she was probably pretty fierce, strong, and deeply loved. Her presence is so popular that every moment that Kieran flinches at werewolf talk or gazes just a little too long at Mason makes her absence felt. She’s more than just a memory. She’s the emotional thread tugging at the seams of Kieran’s story. And really, with all that is unknown about her past, it would not be a shock to see a secret or two crawl out of the coffin in the later episodes.
Deborah: The Older Sister of Cella
Deborah is yet to make her appearance in the limelight. Although the elder sister of Cella is already someone we would cheer. She was briefly mentioned in Chapter 14 (by a very unlucky cheating boyfriend), and that is why Cella had to sneak out of the group project responsibility. But even on the sidelines, she contributes something significant. A peek into the family life of Cella, and possibly the source of that ride-or-die loyalty.
Deborah is an excellent precursor to future drama or point of view or even, potentially, some supernatural encounters of her own with her heartbreak and big sister attitude. Who knows? She could very well be the wildcard no one sees coming in and mixing everything up.
Maria Ramos: The Sweetheart in Style

Maria Ramos is the girl who enters a room and makes it bright. She is not the stereotypical high school cheerleader; she is stylish, confident, and kind. Presented as the surprise date of Kieran (thanks, Mason), Maria appears as a friendly and honest girl. She is the type of person who pays a compliment to your outfit and does not lie. Even Cella puts her seal of approval! Maria is not only pretty, as Maria demonstrates during the double date. She is also patient, polite, and makes a real effort to get to know Kieran, although it is obvious his thoughts are elsewhere. At least one thing is for sure: Carrington High is a little bit more fabulous now.
