In Down to Earth Chapter 55-64, Zay uses her telepathy on Kade for the first time, resulting in a huge emotional ride for both of them. Kade shows her a memory of Delilah and opens up to her, strengthening their bond. Furthermore, in these chapters, Zay is willing to learn more about modeling, gets her very first pay, and also learns to read.

Down to Earth Chapter 55: Trust
In Down to Earth Chapter 55, Kade is up and thanks Zay for holding the fort on her own. He also thanks her for caring, which surprises Zay who asks how could she not when they are friends. Later, she shows him an image of a girl from the magazine, saying how she looks different. Kade is shocked to recognize his coworker, modeling for Spender’s Fashion. She insists Kade ask the girl for modeling advice.
Kade is concerned Zay is still thinking about that and says how he isn’t sure if she’s ready. Zay argues how, just a moment ago, he said she did well on her own and how the night before he had praised her for adjusting so well. Kade, not unkindly, tells her how she should learn how to read first at which Zay suggests using telepathy. That cuts Kade short and she tells him not to worry about his weird thoughts since she too has them. She points out how they could get used to it and how, if he shows a memory with Delilah, she’ll show one of Zodia. She gets closer to Kade as she talks and cups his face with her hands. Down to Earth Chapter 55 ends with a blushing Kade and eager Zaida.
Chapter 56: Memories
In Down to Earth Chapter 56, Zay is trying to persuade Kade. He says how it feels too intimate and is scared how ruining their friendship. She says how she wouldn’t want to if he doesn’t at which Kade admits he wants to know more about her too. He finally agrees and shares his favorite memory of Delilah.
In his memory, he is sleeping during class and a girl throws a paperball at his head, warning him about the incoming bell. The girl tells him how Delilah was looking for him all morning which makes him panic. He rushes off and searches for her in the corridors and, upon finding her, is mesmerized. She sees him and asks where he was all morning at which he apologizes for being late. She tells him how it’s the last day of school before spring break and complains about how he isn’t around much. Confused, Kade asks if they all won’t hang out during break to which Delilah says it’s not what she meant. Down to Earth Chapter 56 ends with Delilah asking Kade to meet her that night by the playground in a secretive manner.
Down to Earth Chapter 57: Shatter
In Down to Earth Chapter 57, Kade is awestruck by Delilah and gets pulled out of his reverie by his friend, Dash. Dash says how Delilah was giving him a flirty look and teases him. Kade greets his other friend, Cannon, who glares at him. She asks if Kade is fine and suggests a break at which he apologizes and insists he’s fine.
The memory changes to a scene of Kade leaving home and heading to the park to meet Delilah. Upon reaching the park, Delilah is nowhere to be found and he wonders if he’s too early. He is checking the tube tunnel when suddenly Delilah jumps out of it, making Kade yell. She laughs and suggests they go over to the swings. Kade asks why she invited him alone and not the others to which she replies she wanted to talk to him. He tells her how Cannon thinks she likes Kade and asks her to clarify it since he’s being rude to Kade because of it. At that, Delilah gets off the swings and walks over to him, calling him dense. She confesses she likes him and the memory cracks again, showing bits of Delilah smiling, Kade crying and Delilah yelling.
The memory completely shatters and Kade sinks to his knees, crying. Down to Earth Chapter 57 ends with Zaida and Kade holding onto each other, Kade crying his heart out.
Chapter 58: Heartbeat
In Down to Earth Chapter 58, Zaida is holding Kade as he cries, stroking his hair. He says how the memory was not done yet and he wants to show her more. She insists he should take his time at which Kade says how it’s been a year and he should have moved on by now. She tells him she felt his pain and she knows he needs more time to let it out. Kade lets that sink in, his tears slowing down. She asks what he feels about Kade and says he feels a bit embarrassed, hungry, and cared for. He then says how he feels like he’d be lost without her at which she hugs him tight and holds him close. Kade hears her excited heartbeat and wonders if it’s because of what he said.
They stand up and Zay tells him she could feel his happiness when Delilah confessed her feelings, even though it brings back bad memories for him. Kade suggests they continue that night, and that Zay can go through his thoughts until she learns to read. Excited at the idea, Zay floats over to the kitchen for breakfast. Down to Earth Chapter 58 concludes with Kade staying behind, still thinking of Zay’s heartbeat and regretting his choice of words.
Down to Earth Chapter 59: Zay’s Earthling Status
In Down to Earth Chapter 59, Kade is at his workplace and his coworker asks him to take over the register as her social battery is down. Kade asks if she’s ok at which she replies that every guy is hitting on her, recognizing her from online stores. He then remembers and asks her for advice on modeling, making her think he’s interested. Upon clarification, she admits that she isn’t good at advice but suggests exchanging numbers so that his friend can contact her.
The next scene shows Kade returning home. He is surprised to find Zaida with two steaming hot cup noodles which she offers to him. She seems to be in a good mood and when he asks, admits to being excited at learning to read. Quickly finishing her cup of noodles, she asks where should they begin. Kade, still eating, asks if she’s excited to read manga and Zay replies how reading will get her closer to an earthling status. He says how there is no rush at which Zay dulls, thinking he is backing out. Seeing her down, Kade goes over to her, holds her hand, and touches his forehead with hers. Down to Earth, Chapter 59 ends with Zay activating her telepathy on Kade.
Chapter 60: Zay’s Next Move
In Down to Earth Chapter 60, Zay is happily reading manga, finally learning how to read. Kade asks if she has any trouble at which she points out she doesn’t understand certain words in his head. Upon inquiry, she gives an example of ‘Bruh’, trying to mimic the attitude. He bursts out laughing at her way of saying it, making her blush and embarrassed. She calls him rude and he laughs even harder, mimicking her way of bruh. She pushes him and asks him about the necessity of having such a short form. As he is about to reply, a series of knocks interrupts them.
Ethan shows up for study time and is cut down by Zay exclaiming ‘I don’t need you anymore!’, unaware of the bluntness of her words. Kade apologizes and lets him in. They fill him in and Ethan suggests how they could have asked him for help since it took them so long to get comfortable with the idea of sharing. He responded with how she wanted Kade to be the one as the procedure was long and she was more comfortable with him. Ethan, loving the gossip, asks Kade how long the session was and comments on the spiciness of the whole scenario. He then asks what is Zaida’s next step. She expresses her desire to be independent and wants to start a career but is unsure if she is ready for it. Down to Earth Chapter 60 concludes with Ethan offering help in that area.
Down to Earth Chapter 61: Zay’s First Payment
Down to Earth Chapter 61 shows Ethan suggesting to build Zay’s resume. When asked about her previous work experiences she thinks for a while and says she does Kade’s dishes. Ethan chides Kade for making her do his dishes at which Kade gets defensive and says how they both do it. Ethan then asks about her skills which Zay perks up and proudly says she can fly, read minds, and learn any language. Giving up on her resume, Ethan apologizes for raising her hopes. Kade then suggests how she could draw at which Ethan comes up with the idea of commissioning her. He gives Zay a character to draw and she gets to work immediately.
An hour later, she exhibits her drawing and Ethan is taken aback by her accuracy and additions. He pays her a hundred bucks for the drawing and Down to Earth Chapter 61 ends with Zay being proud of her very first payment.
Chapter 62: Shopping
Down to Earth Chapter 62 opens with Zaida still beaming with pride about her first earnings. She asks if it’s enough to buy a phone like his and Kade says they could get a cheap one. Zay floats over to Kade and hangs upside down, before him. She says how it’s been a while since they’ve gone out and suggests having some fun outside. Kade barely hears her, distracted by her proximity, and replies ‘I wanna have all kinds of fun with you’, shocking himself.
In the next scene, they are at a mall, Zay taking it all in and Kade wants to go home. She suggests going to Spender’s, excited to see where he works to which Kade replies with a big NO. She says how she loves the clothes there and Kade tells her how he doesn’t want his manager near her. Kade remembers the way Stace had looked at Zay the last time and gets pissed off. Zay, adamant, asks if she wants to see Stace, stopping Kade in his tracks. She explains how she has to make her own decisions and Kade can’t always protect him. He realizes his possessiveness got out of limits and apologizes, at this Zay grabs his arm and says how she just wants to have a good day with him.
They go over to a photobooth, a toy shop, and grab a smoothie, finally ending up at the phone store. Zay selects a phone and is excited to get it working. Kade suggests doing some more shopping with the money she has left and Zay asks if she can get earrings. Kade gets up at that and Down to Earth Chapter 62 ends with him deciding to go to Spender’s.
Down to Earth Chapter 63: Spender’s
Down to Earth Chapter 63 shows Zaida in love with Spender’s and says Kade must be lucky to work in such a cool place. Kade agrees halfheartedly and takes her to the jewelry section. While Zay goes through the earrings, Kade spots Stace and goes over to him, telling Zay to take her time and warning her to not go to the back of the store. Stace is surprised to see Kade, out of work hours, and sarcastically asks if he’s there to quit. He is even more surprised when Kade thanks him for checking on Kade when he was sick.
Seeing Kade busy, Zay decides to check the back of the store but as she turns, bumps into someone, again. She apologizes and looks up to find the girl she saw in the magazines, Kade’s coworker. Chapter 63 of Down to Earth ends with Zay admiring her and the girl blushing.
Chapter 64: Suzy
In Down to Earth Chapter 64, the two girls stare at each other in awkward silence. Kade’s coworker breaks the silence by asking if Zay needs any help, to which Zay says no. They wait again and Zay suddenly remembers about the back of the store and asks the girl to show her around. The girl asks Zay’s age and ID proof, which she doesn’t have, and covers up as forgetting to take it. Kade’s coworker explains how the back is full of mature stuff and how it’s part of her job to ask for ID before taking anyone there. However, she says that Zay is free to go on her own if she wishes to. Zay suddenly remembers and asks the girl if she could be a good model for Spender’s.
Kade is still talking with Stace and Stace notes how Kade has opened up a lot in these few months. Kade states how Stace, too had changed since he wasn’t pestering Kade anymore at work. Stace takes that in and leaves with a remark on how jealousy changes people. Kade processes that and turns around to find Zay gone. He sees her blushing red at the back of the store. He is about to drop an ‘I told you so’, when she cuts him off and says she’ll do as she wants.
Chapter 64.1: Surprise!!
On their way out, Kade, amused, asks Zay about her experience at Spender’s. She tentatively says how it was interesting but takes back what she said about his job being cool. He laughs at that and says he will get her ears pierced once he gets home. At this Zay reveals how she talked to Suzy (his coworker), took her number, and tells him she would come to their home to pierce Zay’s ears that night. Down to Earth Chapter 64 ends with Kade struggling to process all that information.
