Zaida’s arrival brings a mix of chaos and wonder into Kade’s life. As she navigates the unfamiliar planet Earth, Kade reluctantly agrees to help her fit in. This webtoon beautifully blends elements of romance, comedy, and sci-fi, exploring themes of friendship, trust, and the challenges of adapting to new environments. Let’s see what happens in Down to Earth Chapter 1-8.
Down to Earth: Kade Meets Zaida
Down To Earth Chapter 1: Kade’s Breakup
Down to Earth Chapter 1 opens with Kade, a brooding cashier at a goth clothing store. He is shown to be rude to customers when he suddenly receives a text from his girlfriend, Ellie, asking to meet up. Immediately Kade gets lost in anxious daydreams about the possible reasons for the meeting and is jolted back to reality by an impatient customer. Seeing this, his manager warns him to lose this attitude.
The scene shifts to a fast-food restaurant where Ellie breaks up with Kade. Having anticipated this, he remains unfazed, which infuriates her. She dumps her drink on his head, accusing him of being selfish by breaking hearts despite not having one, and leaves saying she hopes he finds his heart someday. Kade, however, is convinced he never will again. Back home, he reflects on the breakup and his struggles with relationships, finding solace in his cat, Cosmo. He asks Cosmo the whereabouts of his heart, only to be interrupted by a loud BOOM and a bright green light outside. Investigating, he discovers a strange vessel, buried deep in the earth, crackling with green electricity. Down to Earth Chapter 1 ends with a green-haired girl with shining gold eyes leaping out of the vessel.
Chapter 2: Who is the Alien Girl?
In Down to Earth Chapter 2, Kade is stupefied by the sight of the floating alien girl before him. As he tries to process the surreal scene, the girl suddenly faints and plummets towards the ground. Acting on instinct, he rushes to catch her but stumbles, causing both of them to fall into the spaceship. Inside, Kade takes in the strange consoles and data, and the reality of the situation hits him hard. At that moment, the girl, half unconscious, opens her eyes and waves at him. Overwhelmed, he screams and jumps out of the vessel.
After gathering his scattered thoughts, he decides to help the girl. He carries the unconscious girl to his home and tends to her wounds with band-aids. As he watches over her, she wakes up, startled, and begins to observe him and talks in her language, leaving him dumbfounded. She then grabs his face and touches their foreheads together. By the time Kade registers that, she pulls back and introduces herself in English, ending Down to Earth Chapter 2.

Down to Earth Chapter 3: Zaida Meets Cosmo
At the beginning of Down to Earth Chapter 3, the girl introduces herself as Zaida while Kade struggles to comprehend the situation. He demands to know who she is and what she did. Zaida explains that she is from a distant planet called Zodia, and how her people can levitate and read minds, which is how she learned his language. As she explores the house, Kade inquires how she crashed to which she admits that it was her first time flying, leaving him even more astonished.
Zaida compliments him on how well he is handling everything when suddenly, she is startled by Cosmo’s arrival. She mistakes the pet for a beast, and he picks up Cosmo, showing Zaida that the pet is harmless. Instantly, she adores Cosmo and expresses her fondness for Earth, stating she never wants to return to her home planet. She explains that the data they had in her ship suggested earthlings and Zodians were similar, but upon arrival, she realized how different they were. She begins comparing herself to Kade, who reassures her that everyone on Earth is different. The prospect of a life on Earth excites Zaida all over again. However, he is taken aback when she asks which would be her room, and he immediately shuts her down. Zaida pleads with Kade to take her in, and Down to Earth Chapter 3 ends with him pondering the situation.
Chapter 4: The In-House Rules
Down to Earth Chapter 4 begins with Kade observing the spaceship while waiting for Zaida to fetch her belongings from inside. He expresses his concern about her ship, to which she reveals it was never hers, to begin with. She proceeds to activate the ship’s built-in cloaking device, making it invisible.
Back in the house, Kade sets some ground rules for Zaida to follow while she stays with him. These rules include contributing to household chores, trusting each other, and a third rule. She agrees, although her playful and curious nature makes it clear that following these rules might be challenging. As they get ready for bed, she shows her sleepwear, which she brought from home, to which he immediately says no, as it looks like a swimsuit. He gives her one of his old t-shirts and stops to admire her pear-shaped body. He snaps back to reality and guides her to the bathroom. As she showers, he mulls over the current scenario and how he should deal with it. While absorbed in his thoughts, Zaida emerges from the shower, and Kade establishes the third ‘no-feelings’ rule, concluding Down to Earth Chapter 4.
Down to Earth Chapter 5: Kade An Earthling!
In Down to Earth Chapter 5 Kade explains why the ‘no-feelings’ rule is a requirement to avoid awkwardness. He assures her he won’t take advantage of the situation she’s in while Zaida, as trustful as ever, promises her trust in him. Kade goes to sleep thinking of her naivety.
The next day Kade makes breakfast for them throughout which they joke around and bond. The funniest part is she keeps calling him ‘earthling’. When he warns her that people might think she is strange if she continues to call him that, she weeps because that’s the last thing she wants. After observing his hair, earrings, and style, he bluntly says, “You are very ugly” without realizing it’s a rude thing to say. (He truly needs to work on his style!) After the meal, he leaves for work leaving behind instructions for her and asking her to feed Cosmo. He drives to work, worrying about leaving Zaida behind, “I’m getting bad vibes for some reason,“ ending Down to Earth Chapter 5.
Chapter 6: Changed Kade
In Down to Earth Chapter 6 Kade is charming to a customer, shocking both the customer and his manager who is impressed by his change of heart. The manager, curious to know what changed, pesters him throughout work. Meanwhile, back at home, Zaida is proud of cleaning up after eating and proceeds to ‘observe’ the house. She finds lewd magazines in Kade’s drawer and notices his different taste in clothes. She then finds a pink box in his cupboard and is about to reach for it when Cosmo appears. Down to Earth Chapter 6 ends with Zaida taking Cosmo to feed her. (We are certain that the pink box has something strange in it!)
Down to Earth Chapter 7: Kade’s PlayStation In Sink
In Down to Earth Chapter 6 Zaida unfamiliar with how to feed pets, chases Cosmo all around the house and accidentally breaks Kade’s precious PlayStation. Back at work, his social battery depletes at an alarming rate as he uncharacteristically socializes with people. While leaving, he gets an outfit for Zaida that he thinks would suit her ‘fallen angel’ vibe. Kade feels calm once he’s home, however, that does not last long. Upon his arrival, she lets him know she has cleaned everything perfectly but might have caused a mess while feeding his cat. Without knowing what she is talking about, he says, mistakes are natural. Down to Earth Chapter 6 ends with Kade and Zaida in the kitchen while the PlayStation is in the sink.
Chapter 8: Kade’s Anger
In Down to Earth Chapter 8, overwhelmed by everything, from his breakup with Ellie to his frustrating job and the challenges of living with an alien, Kade snaps at Zaida. Realizing he went too far, he quickly apologizes. However, she floats off to sulk in her room. After giving her and himself time till dinner, he goes to her and explains his behavior, admitting his mistake. They reach an understanding that he needs to trust her more, and Zaida joins him for dinner. He presents her with new clothes he bought for her and introduces her to pizza, which she immediately loves. Down to Earth Chapter 8 highlights the difficulties of their living arrangement.
