Down to Earth Chapter 195: Just A Dream?

In Down to Earth Chapter 195, Zay dreams of a huge deer-like being with multiple eyes. The being warns her that she has to go back to her birthplace. She protests and wakes up with a start, crying and sweaty. Kade rushes to her and says she has blacked out. Just as he asks if she’s fine, she is overcome with another headache. Panicking, he rushes to get medicines for her. He opens the cabinet to find an empty pill bottle and curses himself. Putting a wet cloth over her forehead, he asks if there’s anything he can do. She explains if she had any issues they would just hook her up with the machines and all would be fine. She assures him she’ll be fine and that it’s just the natural course of her horns.

Zay confides in him about her dream and he assures her it’s just a fever dream. He goes off to get medicines for her. At Mall Mart, he checks two different brands and decides to buy both. However, he fumbles and the medicines fall and roll off. Down to Earth Chapter 195 ends with the bottle landing by the feet of a guy and him picking it up.

Chapter 196: Cannon

Following Down to Earth Chapter 195, Chapter 196 opens with Kade freezing at the sight of Cannon, his childhood friend. Cannon glares at him, making him panic. As he thinks of what to do, the other guy extends his arm holding the pill bottle. As Kade walks over and is about to take it, he drops it to the ground and walks away, rattling him. Back at home he hands a pill to Zay and tells her to let him know if it’s working. Suddenly, Zay gasps and says she has never heard Kade use such foul language. Realizing she heard his thoughts, he explains he’s pissed off. Innocently, she asks if it’s because of her and he quickly says no. Taking her hand and holding it to his face, he asks her to rest and that they will talk about it the next day.

Once Zay’s asleep, Kade goes off to take a shower. Inside, he thinks of what Cannon did and gets riled up again. He then calms himself down and tries not to think about it. The scene shifts to his childhood. Kade just got into shelter from the rain and Ellie runs by him, saying she told Delilah that he likes her. Freezing in his tracks, he yells why would she do that and Ellie breaks down in tears, protesting she didn’t mean to, and runs off. At that moment, Cannon appears and Kade shuts up. He asks if he has a crush on Delilah, ending Down to Earth Chapter 196.

Down to Earth Chapter 197: Making Friends

In Down to Earth Chapter 197, Kade is quiet at Cannon’s question, and suddenly, Cherri pops up, saying she’s starving. Cannon apologizes and says he got distracted by a bug outside. At the cafeteria, Kade is too nervous to eat and keeps an eye out for Delilah. As he thinks why Ellie would rat him out, Delilah appears right behind him. Startled, he shrieks, making her laugh. She asks if he often sits alone and invites him to join her table. Overjoyed, he sees her as an angel to ask such a thing even after what Ellie told her.

At her table, she introduces him to Dash and the twins, Cannon and Cherri. He takes a seat beside Cherri and she hands him a lizard. He takes it and freaks out when he finds out it’s a live lizard. Cherri offers a caterpillar if he doesn’t like the lizard, making Kade say the lizard’s fine. Delilah laughs at that, mesmerizing him. Just then a fry lands on his face and he looks up to find Cannon looking elsewhere. Teasing, Dash asks if he’s made Dee bring a new guy and the other guy replies with, “Oh I thought that was a spider”. Delilah chides the guys and tells Kade to introduce himself, concluding Down to Earth Chapter 197.

Chapter 198: Conditions

Down to Earth Chapter 198 opens with Kade panicking but Delilah reassures him. He then introduces himself and Dash asks what kind of music he likes. The two chat away about their common interest and Dash sulks in his seat. The next scene shows the group at the playground and Cannon sulking by a tree. Making up his mind, Kade walks off to talk to him and Cherri warns him, saying her brother bites.

He goes over and Cannon immediately says he seems like a boring guy and that Delilah’s not interested in dating so he should stop butting in. Kade says he will but only if everyone else feels the same. He then says he would like them to be friends and that surprises Cannon. After a moment, he agrees but sets two conditions. One, to never hurt his sister, and two, to never date Delilah. The memory fades and Kade steps out of the shower. He looks up to see Zay awake and she says he was always so kind to others. Down to Earth Chapter 198 ends with Zay apologizing and saying she saw his thoughts in her sleep.

Down to Earth Chapter 199: Old Crush?

In Down to Earth Chapter 199, Cannon is at Cherri’s place, giving her medicines and the soup she asked for. Thanking him, she says she has the best brother. Cannon is about to leave, telling her to call him if she needs anything else when he pauses by the door. He turns and says he ran into an old crush of hers who looks as sad as he did in high school.

The scene shifts to Kade and Zay, asleep. He suddenly wakes up when one of her gems pokes him. Apologizing, she gets annoyed and pulls at her horns, yelling at them to fall off already. She then says how she would live on as a human if they didn’t fall off ever. Kade hugs her tight, nuzzling her neck, and says they don’t have to worry about the what-ifs. He then moves back to look at her and Zay, blushing, turns away and reminds him she can hear his thoughts. Kade turns red and apologizes, making her laugh. She asks him to stay a while longer and the two cuddle together and go through funny videos. However, when Zay laughs, her horns scratch Kade’s cheek, making him yell in pain.

The next scene shows Kade and his scratched-up face at work. Suzy asks what happened with Cosmo and he says it wasn’t her. She offers to cover those up for him with makeup and goes off to get her bag. He looks up to find Cherri handing papers to Stace and wonders why she looks so serious. Just then Suzy pops up and fixes his face. Cherri comes up behind her and asks to speak with Kade, concluding Down to Earth Chapter 199.

Chapter 200: Stirring Up

Down to Earth Chapter 200 opens with Cherri saying she’s recovering from a cold which is why she isn’t her usual self. Guessing, Kade asks if her brother brought him up and she says yes. Hesitating, she slowly tries to ask about what happened to him and he cuts her off, saying he cannot talk about it now. Frustrated, she asks when he will explain himself and Kade points out it never mattered till now. She says she was her best friend and got worried sick when he just disappeared, he assures her he’s fine now and asks her to leave it. Annoyed, she says it’s not fair that he gets to come back into their lives with no explanation. Eyes brimming with tears, she says she won’t talk to him if he doesn’t, and walks away.

He knows Cannon got to her and worries, thinking about what he could have said. At that moment, Stace and Suzy appear and ask if he’s fine. He says he upset Cherri and asks if Stace knows anything since they are cousins. He says they are not close and Suzy offers to ask her. Suddenly, Kade runs off, determined to sort things out with Cherri. Meanwhile, Cherri sees Cannon and he says he warned her that Kade’s not a good friend. Down to Earth Chapter 200 ends with Kade overhearing the twins talk.

Down to Earth Chapter 201: Miscommunication

In Down to Earth Chapter 201, Kade overhears Cannon saying he hasn’t changed at all and, he confronts them. He says he is not the same person they knew and that he has changed for the better. Still, in tears, Cherri asks how could he say that when he still won’t talk to her. He tries to explain but is cut off by the way Cannon glares at him, he loses focus and begins to tremble slightly. Getting a hold of himself, he turns to Cherri and says he does not want to lose her friendship again. Cannon laughs and talks about how Kade just popped into Cherri’s life again and expects her to forget the past.

Kade explodes and asks why he cares all of a sudden since he never wanted him around. Cannon says he’s as dense as ever and Cherri tries to stop her brother. He then says it’s not fair to her and asks if he has to remind her of the time she called him crying. Panicking, she yells at her brother to stop, but Kade is even more confused. Cannon looks at him and says how the only time he reached out to her was when he broke up with Delilah and asks him to recall what he asked her. Surprised, he says he apologized for that and it didn’t even phase her. Annoyed, the other guy asks if he’s sure about that. He says he is and looks to her for confirmation, but she runs away, crying.

Cannon glares at Kade and warns him to stay away from him and his sister and that he’s not changed a bit. Warning him to keep his mouth shut, Cannon walks off, leaving Kade overwhelmed, concluding Down to Earth Chapter 201.

Chapter 202: Maintaining Friendships

In Down to Earth Chapter 202, Kade is at work and the other two decide to give him space since the talk looks intense. He exasperatedly says he doesn’t need space since he got enough of that when Zay moved out. Suzy slowly asks what happened and Kade says he and Cannon had a rough past and that it’s obvious he still has not let go. He thinks about how Cherri felt and is frustrated by the way she sticks up for her brother’s shitty behavior. Suzy says she’ll try and talk to Cherri to get her side of the story. Stace says he too would like to help but doesn’t know anyone and is new to this. He thanks them and says he is glad to have them.

He goes back home to a rejuvenated Zaida who made sushi wraps for dinner. She asks about his face and he realizes he forgot that with all the Cannon and Cherri drama. He catches himself and thinks, “You heard that didn’t you,” and Zay shyly nods. She asks why Cannon was at his workplace. He says it was probably for Cherri and fills her in on what happened. Feeling low, he says Cannon had always hated him, and now so does Cherri. At that, Zay kisses his cheek, assuring him it will be fine if he talks it out with Cherri. She suggests practicing opening up with someone who has known him for a long back and then getting to her if it’s too hard. Kade ponders at that and thinks of a person, concluding Down to Earth Chapter 202.

Down to Earth Chapter 203: Catching Up With Dustin

Down to Earth Chapter 203 opens with Kade thanking Zay and she replies with “Anything to help my Kade.” She catches herself and fumbles, trying to cover it up, but Kade gives her a long kiss on the cheek. Pulling back, he complains she makes the wait too hard and Zay says that’s great if it means they won’t have to wait longer.

The next scene shows Kade at Dustin’s place, asking for his advice on the situation. He says the same thing Zay did and Kade admits to finding it hard to talk to people face-to-face. He then thinks how much Cannon had terrified him that he cannot even confide in Dustin. Understanding, he says he can see it’s difficult for him but he has to do it nonetheless. Kade says he’d like to start with him and apologizes for abandoning their friendship. He says he prioritized the wrong things back then and asks to rekindle what they had.

The two wrap things up and Kade heads off, thanking him. Dustin watches him go and is about to head back inside when he notices the flat door beside him open. He is shocked to see Cherri appear, and Down to Earth Chapter 203 ends.

Chapter 204: “Blonde Kade”

In Down to Earth Chapter 204, Cherri is as shocked as he is to find him right beside her flat. Startled, he asks, “Cherri?!” and she responds with, “Blonde Kade?!“, confusing him. He holds his hand out and says it’s nice to officially meet her and Cherri just stares at him till he awkwardly drops his hand. Just then a lizard lands on his shoulder and he slowly takes it in his hands, placing him on the ground gently. Cherri is amazed at that and exclaims “You’re the Great Lizard King!”. She explains the manga she’s reading featuring the lizard king and he says he too will read it if it’s cute and romantic. Bummed out to hear it’s about war and death, he notices her outfit and asks to join her for her jog.

The next scene shows Suzy asking Kade to cover her shift since she has a date. He thinks about it till he hears the reason and tells her she should’ve said the date thing earlier. Feeling overwhelmed, she quickly hugs him and says she’s glad to have made a friend like him. The rest of the work feels never-ending for Kade due to the rush of very chatty customers. Down to Earth Chapter 204 ends with a girl shyly passing him her application papers.
