Castle Swimmer Chapter 62-64: The Hermit
Castle Swimmer Chapter 62 opens with mischievous Kappa and wicked witches trying to find the mysterious hermit. Finally, they arrive at a strange-looking shell house and, seeing that lights are on, knock loudly for entry. They knock, but whoever is there politely denies them. Despite their attempts to get through the door, all their efforts were in vain. But the mention of “the Beacon” prompts Herm to open his door wide, showing his astonishment at what he sees.
Once they enter, Herm greets Kappa and the witches as if he already knows them, who are Octalians, an ancient race of mermaids known for their magic powers and multiple arms. The description of Octalia shows how they were once a mighty species that could fight, heal others, or even give birth using their powers. Still, the evil queen denies it, as she says Octalia no longer exists.
Herm wants to know why Kappa is seeking him out while the evil queen interrupts, asking if he knows anything about a Crab Mini-god. He asks if they are looking for “Ogo,” to which the witches respond by asking what he means. Castle Swimmer Chapter 62 ends with the question of who Lord Ogo is.
Mini-God Origin
Ogo grew into massive power after winning many battles. Originally an ordinary-sized crab, he became more extensive and was given a grand name after facing challenges most sea creatures even feared to take. Ogo has to confirm if Kappa has any prophecy he might need to fulfill. For so long, Ogo has been a no-go for most people, having made many castles relocate due to his powers.
In a different turn of events, the Evil Queen asks Herm about another mini-god. She wants to know about another mini-god a million times bigger than Ogo, described as having a monstrous body with a turtle-like shell, towering pipes, and several red eyes on the face. He confesses his ignorance but insists that all the mini gods have a common origin, thereby probably implying a web of more connected entities.
Kappa also wonders if mini-gods are born or changed, as Herm explains that mini-gods are just ordinary beings who were exposed to an ancient force that was discovered as a fossil within their bodies, giving them god-like powers. However, Herm suggests that there were other prehistoric people with two tails involved before being cut short by the Evil Queen for only talking about the crab mini-god. Finally, Herm lets out that he knows where Lord Ogo is, making one look forward to what will happen next in this complex tale.
Home of Lord Ogo
Castle Swimmer Chapter 64 begins with Herm telling something significant to Kappa about Lord Ogo. The address of Ogo’s home is a grotto inside Purple Peak. As soon as he has finished speaking, the evil queen announces the group’s readiness to depart. Yet, Herm insists on drawing out the beacon before they leave, and Kappa happily agrees.
A rather emotional interaction between Kappa and Herm follows. While sketching, profound conversation takes place between these two characters. Their talk is full of emotions and thoughts. The narrative shifts into Herm’s inner thoughts as the group exits his home. His hope that they would be unsuccessful in finding their prey hints at the dangerousness of their mission and his own inner conflict.
Mono suggests Kappa’s excessive helpfulness may deter him from becoming a witch. This criticism prompts him to justify himself, but she shuts him down. Another chapter ends with the beacon light flaring up again, causing Kappa to move towards Ogo involuntarily.
Castle Swimmer Chapter 65: Shark Castle
Chapter 65 opens with an exhilarating scene at Shark Castle where Skiff, the presumptive heir, is being put through rigorous training by Susca. In his training sessions, Skiff emerges as a hardworking and gifted individual showing potential for leadership in the future. Even though the shark people hoped for Siren’s departure to break their curse, they still grieve over his absence and feel misplaced. The refusal to speak openly about Siren illustrates how deeply they felt his loss, leaving them without any other choice than this silent mourning.
In this chapter, things get personal when Skiff enters Siren’s room to find Susca. Although she tries to hide her emotions from him as soon as he enters the room, it is evident that she is troubled emotionally.
Castle Swimmer Chapter 66-68: Prince Siren’s First Kill
Castle Swimmer Chapter 66 starts with an intense battle scene where three aggressive sea creatures overwhelm Prince Siren. However, Pagoon intervenes by telling him to aim for the floopus glands numbered three through fifteen on the beasties. Acting on Pagoon’s advice, Siren manages to eliminate one of them, impressing Pagoon. In fact, Pagoon further reveals that it was just a warm-up fight. More creatures appear, but his mother arrives swiftly to deal with them before they can engage them.
In the next scene, Siren, Pagoon, and his mother share a meal. The chapter ends with a poignant scene where his mother asks about a scar on Siren’s back, questioning if he got it from his own people.
Pagoon’s Past
At the beginning of Castle Swimmer Chapter 67, Siren explains his scar as an accident, showing his vulnerability. His curiosity about Pagoon’s mother’s journey leads her to reveal their present predicament. She confesses they are looking for somewhere safe for Pagoon to grow and be happy without remnants of what he had gone through as a child. In the next scene, his mother narrates the sufferings they experienced in their homeland. Their castle is in a dangerous place, and it takes its inhabitants’ fierce determination to die rather than let go of it. This loyalty has cost them a lot, including the deaths of sword bearers and even his father.
Nevertheless, his dream of being a top fighter led him into challenging situations that made him go beyond his limits at a tender age. She decided to run away with her son from this cruelty as she could not withstand this harsh treatment anymore. Thus, her escape demonstrates a deep love for her child and his safety concern.
Siren’s response to the mother’s story is one of empathy and tears. He assures her that she did the right thing, affirming that Pagoon deserves to be happy for once. It’s a heartfelt moment of mutual understanding and compassion between Siren and Pagoon’s mother, giving some closure to the chapter.
God Mouth
Pagoon vigilantly trains Siren in Castle Swimmer Chapter 68. However, their training is interrupted when their mother announces their arrival at the “God Mouth,” a place that will significantly alter their journey. She warns Siren and Pagoon about what lies beyond the entrance. The creatures found here are larger than elsewhere, making it more dangerous. However, she tells them that going through the trench would give them a safer route.
As they move through the trench together, Siren and Pagoon exhibit emotion-filled enthusiasm. However, there was a pause in their progress as an anxious sound broke out—a cry for help from someone or something trapped somewhere in Deep End, an area instructed explicitly by Pagoon’s mother never to go close at all times.
