Nonetheless, no matter how hard he tries to resist it, he returns with him. After being captured and put into the dungeon, Kappa comforts Siren, who feels deeply sorry about everything.
Queen Susca and Elder Selkie arrive at the dungeon, demanding that Siren tell them what really happened. In an honest admission of guilt, Siren states that he never wanted to kill Kappa. He had been secretly planning on helping Kappa escape for two weeks until when the queens came to rescue him, and he assisted them because he was determined to find another way of breaking the curse.Â
Selkie tells Queen Susca if its time they tell Siren the truth. The actual way of breaking the curse was not by killing the Beacon but rather by Siren’s death. Such a bombshell conclusion sets even more stage for drama.
The Veracity
Castle Swimmer Chapter 34 starts with a bang as Siren discovers something hidden. This moment sets the tone for the entire chapter, which is filled with suspense and emotional upheaval.
We see the flashback where Queen Susca is changing the prophecy scroll. She went to great lengths to ensure that everyone in the castle believed the revised one, even altering the mural painting at the castle. In the new version, the Siren kills Kappa, unlike in the original prophecy.
It goes deeper into the past, showing how Siren tried injuring his hand, as Silver mentions in earlier chapters. This greatly affected Queen Susca as she found out that when he cut himself, the curse would pause for about a month, which is why many people stopped dying. But after that incident, the curse never stopped again despite the queen herself trying to injure Siren in small amounts. So she knew they could only break the curse through his death.
In the present scene, Selkie confesses to Queen that she started rumors to help Kappa escape since she thought there was no point in keeping him locked up. Tension arose between them, and they began to quarrel, but Siren’s anguished yelling stopped them. He has been under a lot of pressure and false hope, thinking he could break the curse, but now he realizes they were going to make him kill Kappa for nothing.

Chapter 35 opens with a fierce confrontation between Siren and his mother. He sets his defiance on a line when he says, “You are not killing him. She drags his lifeless body alongside hers towards the main hall where all the shark people have gathered. Queen Nee and Krilli look visibly disturbed, knowing how grave Queen’s decision might turn out.
Upon arrival, she makes a chilling announcement: Nobody else should suffer anymore; then, she proceeds by saying that she wants everyone present during Kappa’s execution. Some sharks are happy because, finally, the curse would break, while others wonder where Prince Siren might be at such a time. The chapter ends with Siren trying to escape the prison quickly.
