In Baby Tyrant, trapped in the body of an infant, Mabel (Gyeoul) struggles to communicate her real thoughts. Her situation as an individual with the mental age of an adult but the physical capacity of a baby gives rise to many hilarious and endearing scenes. Let’s see how Baby Tyrant Chapter 17-24 turn out for Gyeoul.
Baby Tyrant Chapter 17: Abelardo’s Letter

Baby Tyrant Chapter 17 begins with a rising tension between Mabel’s grandfather, Marquess Gardenia, and her father, the Emperor. Caught between the two, Mabel becomes uncomfortable and scrambles to escape. But the Emperor and Marquess don’t let her get away, each one asking her to come to them. ‘How do they expect me to choose?!’ she thinks, exasperatedly. When her brother runs in, Mabel goes to him instead and successfully maneuvers the situation.
Meanwhile, Monatague returns back to his kingdom where he is presented before Abelardo. Abelardo reprimands Montague for brashly trying to kidnap Princess Mabel. Montague terrified that Abelardo would punish him for failing his mission, realizes that Abelardo had expected Montague to be unsuccessful and had sent him to test Ermaneau. Montague asks him about his next move; Abelardo simply smiles and says, “I have something in mind.”
Mabel is Teething
Later, Mabel finds herself plagued with a growing pain. Smiling, her nanny announces, “Her Imperial Highness is teething,” Concerned at first, Mabel is now overjoyed, realizing she may be able to speak soon. Her guard reports the situation and within minutes the Emperor bursts into the room with an energetic “Mabel!” to celebrate the news. She panics as he prepares to bestow upon her yet another ridiculous gift. Already possessing the Northern Forest of the palace, the Fonse Castle, and the principality of Vistante, Mabel yells, “Cookie!” in an effort to discourage him. The Emperor considers this but instead of a single cookie, hilariously gives her the head chef of the palace.
The Letter
A letter comes from Abelardo bearing a request to attend Mabel’s first birthday celebrations in person. The Emperor is enraged and dubs the letter ‘a declaration of war’. He decides to deal with the situation head-on, ominously saying, “This time, I will… respond to the threat properly.” With two months until the banquet, he would have time for preparations.
Baby Tyrant Chapter 17 concludes as the Emperor writes his reply to Abelardo’s invitation, lettering the words, “I welcome and look forward to His Holiness’s visit.”
Chapter 18: Mabel’s First Birthday

Baby Tyrant Chapter 18 begins with the dawn of Mabel’s long-awaited first birthday. Getting ready for the celebrations, Mabel is presented with a fancy dress to wear. Familiar with the poverty of her previous life, she is stunned and annoyed with the luxury. The Emperor lovingly wishes Mabel, leading her to recognize the gesture as the first time anyone had wished her on her birthday. As Gyeoul, she has always been alone. “So, this is what it feels like to celebrate a birthday… it feels strange…”
The chapter begins as the Emperor makes his entrance with a nervous Mabel. In her life as an infant princess, she had met no more than ten people. Now she has to face an entire room of eager elites waiting to see her. The Emperor consoles her, affirming that she has nothing to worry about.
Carrying her, the Emperor walks towards his throne. Mabel glimpses the small throne beside it, meant for her. But in a thoroughly unexpected move, the Emperor sits Mabel down, not on her seat, but on his own throne. The entire room falls silent in shock. To escalate matters, Oscar declares Mabel a genius to the assembly, adding that she had learned to roll over at three months and walk at eight months. Feeling completely baffled and humiliated, Mabel sits, stunned and confused. Baby Tyrant Chapter 18 suspensefully ends with Oscar enthusiastically running to his beloved sister with a big smile on his face.
Baby Tyrant Chapter 19: Mabel Is… Emperor?

In Baby Tyrant Chapter 19, the Emperor abdicates his throne and gives it to Mabel, surprising all readers. Oscar sweetly wishes Mabel and gifts her a small necklace. Haunted by the poverty of her past life, Mabel thinks, ‘A birthday present… it feels so foreign to me.’ Additionally, the Emperor shows her all the presents that guests have brought her, making her feel uncomfortable. The Emperor misinterprets her emotions, saying, “Oh dear, it seems she’s disappointed by how few presents there are.” He promises her that he has a ‘marvelous’ gift to give. “Mabel,” he announces, standing up, “I shall give you this empire.”
The Emperor’s Plan
Two months before the ordeal, the Emperor plotted to foil Abelardo’s plan. If he could convince three important people to accept Mabel’s ascension to the throne, he would be able to ensure her safety.
First on the list, was Marquess Gardenia. Deeply compassionate about his granddaughter, he agreed to the plan immediately.
Secondly, the Emperor consulted Oscar. As the initial heir to the throne, six-year-old Oscar had been studying and preparing his whole life to assume his father’s title. However, once Mabel’s safety came into play, the doting brother instantly and happily gave up the throne. “If Mabel becomes empress,” he said, “I will become a knight to protect her!”
Lastly, the Emperor had to convince Duchess Donovan, his first wife, and Oscar’s birth mother. He had three contingency plans to persuade the seemingly cold-hearted woman. Anticlimactically, she simply said, “Do as you wish.” And with that, the decision was taken. Baby Chapter 19 ends with a proud Estevan as he smirks at the success of his plan, thinking “How dare you try to steal my daughter from me!”
Chapter 20: Abelardo Is Unfazed

Baby Tyrant Chapter 20 begins with a recollection of Emperor Estevan’s announcement and Abelardo’s perspective on the matter. With Estefan’s surprising abdication from the throne and even more surprising declaration of Mabel as the new emperor, Abelardo’s plans failed. Undeterred, he recognizes the power within Mabel and the turmoil she feels. He predicts that her abilities will destroy the relationships around her. “Seed of God,” he says, “You will eat away at yourself… and in the end, seek me out.”
Although Abelardo isn’t upset by Mabel’s new status, Mabel is. She can’t believe the ridiculosity of making her, an infant, the Empress. She has to be taken away to her room after throwing a tantrum in front of the guests.
The next morning, Mabel muses over the event, growing more and more furious. She communicates her desire to be taken by her father to her servants. Chapter 20 of Baby Tyrant concludes as Mabel angrily makes her way to Estevan.
Baby Tyrant Chapter 21: Mabel’s Fury

Baby Tyrant Chapter 21 begins with Mabel furiously marching towards her father. After leading her servants to find Estevan, Mabel storms towards him (or waddles, really). “BABAAA!” she yells, murderously. While he lovingly scoops her up, Mabel begins to pummel his chest with her tiny fists. Although momentarily distracted by the ice cream he feeds her, Mabel begins to cry out in rage, “No! Hay Baba!” (meaning ‘I hate Papa’)
Clumsily walking away, Mabel leaves her father speechless and wounded.
In the following days, Mabel cries loudly whenever her father comes near her. Lisandro, a guard that Mabel despises, jokes that the two are now members of the P.M.H club or the ‘People Mabel Hates’ club. Meanwhile, Oscar and Mabel share a sweet moment as he confides his disinterest in being Emperor.
Later in the royal council, the members debate over Duke Javier, an unpredictable and untrustworthy faction member. Suddenly, the ex-Emperor sways, almost falling. Baby Tyrant Chapter 21 concludes mysteriously with Gustaf crying out, “Your Your Majesty!”
Chapter 22: Guardian Deity

Baby Tyrant Chapter 22 begins as Estevan weakly admits, “I miss Mabel,” after nearly collapsing. Not eating or sleeping properly after Mabel’s rejection, he grew fragile. Even so, he decides to honor his daughter’s wish and stays away from her, watching her in the garden only from afar.
In the garden, Mabel suddenly encounters the Guardian Deity, a golden cat sent by God and sworn to protect her. Able to hear its thoughts, Mabel catches the cat criticizing everyone calling it an ‘adorable, charming, Guardian Deity’
Later in the day, she encounters her father who deliberately ignores her. Still struggling with the impact of the abusive father she had as Gyeoul, Mabel understands this behavior. Baby Tyrant Chapter 22 concludes with Mabel sadly thinking, “What parent would love a strange child…?”
Baby Tyrant Chapter 23: Crowned!

Baby Tyrant Chapter 23 begins with Mabel slowly waking up, groggily trying to find her bearings. A month has passed since she last saw her father. Waking up one morning in a strange place, Mabel’s surprised at her pleasure of seeing him.
Right on time, she sees Estevan standing with a crown above her head and realizes she’s at her own coronation. NO! she thinks instantly, trying to dash away. In all the commotion, the crown falls at her feet. She takes a big step and kicks it with all her strength. Unexpectedly, the room bursts into applause as everyone praises her for being strong, opinionated, and valiant. And so, Mabel assumes the throne of the biggest empire at the tender age of one.
Baby Tyrant Chapter 23 concludes as Mabel, angry and stressed with her predicament, becomes determined to ruin it all. From today on, my goal is to be dethroned!
Chapter 24: Mabel Gives a Death Sentence

Baby Tyrant Chapter 24 begins with Mabel presiding at her first council meeting where she is just made to sit with her father while the grown-ups discuss major issues. Mabel listens on as they address Viscount Vincent’s horrific treatment of his wife, the Viscountess, and her subsequent request for divorce. The Viscount banished her to the manor annex and brought his mistress into the main building, although the Viscountess was with child. Upon hearing that the Viscountess had suffered a miscarriage due to an incident with a collapsed staircase in the annex, Mabel is enraged. She clenches her tiny hands and declares, “I senten Binceh… to def!” (‘I sentence Vincent to death!’) The council however laughs at her bold statement and breezily dismisses her, much to her fury.
Later, she meets Enrique Javier, Oscar’s fellow trainee in swordsmanship. Oscar becomes envious when Mabel pats Enrique’s head, demanding the same treatment. Finding herself in yet another ridiculous situation, Mabel strokes the heads of both boys. Baby Tyrant Chapter 24 concludes with an irritated, one-year-old Mabel thinking, ‘Seriously, I don’t understand kids.’
