Accidental Assassin is an action romance manhwa that follows Bonnie, a constantly underestimated redhead with some serious skill, and Ronan, the perpetually grumpy and morose top assassin at the secret spy organisation, Fianna. Previously in Accidental Assassin, a chance encounter with Ronan puts Bonnie on Fianna’s radar. They decide to recruit her and assign Ronan as her partner. Meanwhile, Bonnie reschedules a date with her best friend, crush, and co-worker, Wesley. They’d been promoted to work for Mr. Adams together… but something about the whole situation wasn’t right. Will Bonnie survive as Fianna’s new recruit- especially as a storm is headed towards her? Let’s find out in Accidental Assassin Chapter 8-14!
Accidental Assassin Chapter 8: Time to Suit Up

Accidental Assassin Chapter 8 begins as Bonnie rushes into view- two minutes late- while Ronan dourly waits for her. After a brief lecture (the gist: do not be late to meet Ronan ever again), he leads her to the Fianna armoury.
Shelf after shelf of high-tech gadgets proudly display themselves in front of the impressed new girl. In the midst of tons of shining steel, the weapons master presents Bonnie with her uniform. When she excitedly goes off to change, Claire enters the armoury and walks up towards Ronan. He voices his concerns- Bonnie wasn’t ready for the mission; she’d get herself killed- to his superior. “I’d almost think you were worried about Miss Bailey,” Claire responds with a thoughtful look.
Ronan immediately flusters and quickly- too quickly- denies it. Claire laughs and then explains that it was Ronan’s job to look after Bonnie. They had to make sure she was Fianna material, but it’d be nice if she didn’t die in the process. Nevertheless, she forges on; it was a test for him, too. The core of Fianna was teamwork, but Ronan made a difficult partner. “Other people slow me down,” he states, embodying his maverick status.
At that moment, Bonnie walks out shyly wearing her uniform: white shirt, black tie, slitted skirt, and heels (beauty always comes before comfort). The weapons master gives her the standard set of weapons, which includes a knife and a gun, to keep on her person. When Ronan voices the fact that he hadn’t trained her to use a gun yet, Bonnie smiles. She’d already learnt her way around firearms from her father. Ronan pauses for a moment. Who was this father of hers? But he doesn’t say anything out loud.
Team… of One?
Claire briefs them about their mission. The job was to observe, not engage with, a deal between two big gangs. She leaves them- Bonnie determinedly grinning and Ronan intensely scowling- with a wish of luck. And a little while later, the team of four- Liam, Cara, Ronan, and Bonnie- arrives at the docks. They split off in pairs, ready for their first joint mission. While Liam and Cara take the high ground, Bonnie and Ronan choose a spot next to their parked car. It’s game time.
Half an hour later, Bonnie leans against the hood of their gleaming vehicle in boredom. So far, they’d seen about as much action as you’d find in a local laundromat. Ronan decides to check on Liam and Cara. Leaving Bonnie alone, he looks over his shoulder with two last words, “Be vigilant.” Confused, Bonnie tries to shake the foreboding feeling of danger within her. She peeks around the corner of the maze created by big ship containers and finds herself in an empty clearing. Accidental Assassin Chapter 8 concludes as Bonnie wonders if they’d left her all alone.
Accidental Assassin Chapter 9: Not Without A Fight

Accidental Assassin Chapter 9 begins as Bonnie wanders around, calling out for Ronan. If this was a joke, it was not funny. She notices a camera attached above her and realizes that she is being watched. Meanwhile, on the other side of the surveillance cam sits Claire. She smiles as she watches Bonnie find the lens; the girl has good instincts.
Walking around in eerie silence, Bonnie hears a sound and whirls around. Keeping her senses on high alert, she tightens the grip on her gun. Suddenly, she hears the air whistle beside her. Immediately, she ducks, missing a fatal blow… from Liam. What was happening?! When she asks him, Liam tells her that it was all Ronan’s idea. “You know too much, Bailey,” he says, grinning, “You’re a liability.” With astonishing speed, he moves to attack her with his blades. She dodges his strikes, her mind spinning with confusion. Suddenly, a knife pierces through the air, missing her by an inch. Huffing with adrenaline, she stares at the blade with wide eyes. He wasn’t playing around. He was aiming to kill.
The Nice Girl Has Moves
After escaping an onslaught of soaring knives, Bonnie determinedly sprints away from Liam. She needed time to process her thoughts. Hiding behind a container, she catches her breath. Was it really Ronan’s idea? Whatever it was, she wasn’t going down easy.
Meanwhile, Liam stalks through the containers. Calling her a ‘nice girl’, he tells her that she had no place in Fianna (and then explains that it wasn’t ‘personal’). He promises to go easy on her if she reveals herself. Suddenly, Bonnie leaps off the top of a container and slams the butt of her gun into his skull. In one blow, Liam is knocked out cold. “You’re going to have quite the headache when you wake up,” she says, remorsefully (but not really). Then, hearing footsteps close by, she stands to face the next threat. Cara lunges at her unmercifully with a knife, concluding Accidental Assassin Chapter 9.
Accidental Assassin Chapter 10: Trust Is A Game of Make-Believe

Accidental Assassin Chapter 10 begins as Bonnie dodges Cara’s ruthless attack and dashes away from her. Distributing her weight over her feet like she’d learnt from her father, Bonnie stealthily sprints away. She couldn’t take her on in a fight. She needed to be careful.
Bonnie makes her way through the maze, with the scary feeling that someone was watching her, and finally comes upon their van. She laughs with relief; now she can escape! Suddenly, she hears footsteps nearby. And these ones, even without her father’s training, she could recognize. “I know it’s you, Ronan,” she says, frowning in anger. Abruptly, he drops down in front of her, right between her and the van.
He aims his gun at her. Bonnie gasps in shock- no one had used bullets on her before- and makes a break for it. A shot whizzes past her head. Had he missed on purpose? Sprinting faster than a track star, Ronan easily catches up to her. But when he tries to grab her, she ducks out of reach. “You brought me out here to kill me?” she asks, still reeling from the betrayal. Before he can react, she rushes at him with her blade. Knocking him to the ground, she presses her knife to his throat as he grins.
Checkmate, Game’s Over
Flipping her off him and into the containers, he brings his face close to hers to say, “You’ve got potential, but you’re not cut out for this. You’re not a killer.” Bonnie grimaces, grits her teeth, and smashes her head into his nose (the equivalent of: choke on your words). She puts her revolver to his head.
Back in the woods with her father, Bonnie remembers one of the biggest lessons he’d taught her. True loyalty didn’t really exist; no one could be trusted. So, always protect yourself first. Ronan didn’t know anything about her. Bonnie would do anything to survive. ‘It was too good to be true,’ she thinks, and cocks the gun, concluding Accidental Assassin Chapter 10.
Accidental Assassin Chapter 11: Grade A+

Accidental Assassin Chapter 11 begins as Ronan presses Bonnie’s gun to his forehead with an almost malicious smile. “Gonna shoot me, Bailey?” he asks her with a devilish grin. Bonnie glares at him. But when she pulls the trigger, nothing happens. It wasn’t loaded. Wait, what? Mortified, Bonnie stares at her gun. “You were being tested. Congratulations, you passed,” he says, with zero emotion. Bonnei tries to wrap her head around this new information. In the end, only one thing leaves her troubled. She’d trusted him.
“You shouldn’t have trusted me. You barely know me,” Ronan says coldly, as Cara and Liam come into view. Hoisting her half-conscious partner up, Cara makes her way to them. Ronan disapprovingly shames Liam for letting an accountant- Bonnie argues that she’s not an accountant- beat him. Later, at Fianna, Claire praises Bonnie for performing ‘remarkably well’. Though Ronan argues that she was sloppy- she hadn’t even checked her gun!- Bonnie retorts that Fianna operated on trust. Nevertheless, Claire tells Ronan to continue training with her. She had talent, and they couldn’t afford to waste it.
“Not Personal”
Before leaving, the Fianna agents apologize to Bonnie. It wasn’t personal. They needed to make sure she was ready. But Bonnie doesn’t want to listen. She was mad; she was hurt; and she was betrayed. “I’m the top assassin in Fianna. I will not accept a weak partner,” Ronan says, just igniting her fury further.
Later that night, Bonnie collapses in her apartment. It had been a long day. She mocks Ronan in anger and releases a scream of frustration into her pillow. “I’ll show him just how capable I am,” she declares resolutely to her empty room. When Wesley suddenly texts her, asking to reschedule their dinner, Bonnie immediately replies. She was going to take just one day off. Ronan would understand. She curls up and fades into a deep sleep, concluding Accidental Assassin Chapter 11.
Accidental Assassin Chapter 12: A (Sort of) Perfect Night

Accidental Assassin Chapter 12 begins as Bonnie tries on multiple outfits for her date. Staring at the pile of clothes on her bed, she begins to wonder. Was she reading too much into it? She and Wesley were just good friends; there was no need to dress up too much.
Bonnie resolves to just stick to her usual style and shows up in a red, layered skirt and matching headband. She meets Wesley, dressed in a casual suit, outside a busy restaurant. They greet each other- no different from the way they usually do. But the air between them had changed. Bonnie blushes when she looks at him, and Wesley does too. Even at the table, both of them act endearingly awkward. Why was it so hard to start a conversation all of a sudden?
The Party Crasher
Wesley asks about how she was dealing with the promotion. He tells her that they’d accomplished quite a bit. They’d always worked really well together. Hesitantly, Bonnie asks him about Mr. Adams. Didn’t he seem suspicious? Wesley didn’t seem to notice anything afoot, but nevertheless, he promised to keep an eye out for trouble. All throughout the conversation, Bonnie’s phone had been ringing off the hook (any guesses who it is?). Welsey finally addresses it, but she decides to ignore the call.
That night, Wesley offers to walk Bonnie home. The wine had been stronger than warranted (Bonnie was hiccuping nonstop). When she covers her face in embarrassment, Wesley chuckles. At least it wasn’t as bad as the Christmas party they’d once attended (picture a drunk Bonnie singing passionately into a mic while Wesley tries to save her from humiliation). When they reach her door, Bonnie invites him in for tea. She enters her living room to see Ronan sitting angrily on the edge of her sofa, concluding Accidental Assassin Chapter 12.
Accidental Assassin Chapter 13: A Distraction?

Accidental Assassin Chapter 13 begins as Bonnie makes eye contact with the liquid fire in Ronan’s eyes, and quickly shuts the door. Mortified, she pushes Wesley out to get snacks. She closes the door behind him, just as Ronan comes out with folded arms. “Subtle. You’re lucky he’s not the brightest,” he tells her.
Plopping down between Bonnie’s colorful cushions in his black Fianna uniform, he curtly reminds her that she’d missed training. She was an agent now; she couldn’t afford to miss a single day. Finally, sighing, Bonnie apologizes and promises that it won’t happen again. She had to get him out. Welsey might show up any second! “He’s a distraction that you don’t need, Bailey,” he says, but Bonnie disagrees. She wasn’t going to let Ronan tell her who she should be friends with!
Ronan tells her that they might have a mission soon. As Wesley knocks on the door, Bonnie pushes the obstinate spy towards the window. Before he leaves, he reiterates his advice about cutting out distractions. Then, he disappears into the night with a flutter of his cloak.
As a child, Bonnie had no friends. When she’d landed an internship at Fintech- by some miracle- she’d been struggling. It was because of Wesley’s boundless generosity and kindness that she’d stayed afloat. He sits down on the sofa beside her. “I’m really glad we’re friends, you know?” she says to him suddenly. And in that moment, she decides that she would never cut him out of her life. She could balance her priorities. She fondly glances at him, concluding Accidental Assassin Chapter 13.
Accidental Assassin Chapter 14: Hard On Her

Accidental Assassin Chapter 14 begins as Bonnie trains with Ronan at the Fianna headquarters. Falling down hard, Bonnie grudgingly takes Ronan’s hand. Was he ever going to go easy on her? Still, Ronan- hesitantly- admits that she was getting slightly better.
Liam approaches the duo to tell them that Claire had summoned them. She had a mission for them. All the way to her office, Bonnie crosses her arms and sulks. Was this a real assignment… or just an act like last time? Ronan and Liam assure her that she wouldn’t be tested again. But if they thought she was going to let the betrayal slide, they were severely incorrect. Liam leaves them at the door, but instead of thanking him, Bonnie refuses to even look at him. Ronan face-palms at her exaggerated grudge with the man.
In the office, Claire informs the partners that the Director had a mission for them. She pushes the file of Brendan Hobbs, a corrupt judge, towards them. Though he routinely accepted bribes like a low-level dishonest magistrate, he was also involved with Mr. Adams. He let high-profile drug dealers pass through court with a minimal sentence. “Your objective is to eliminate the target,” Claire tells them with a serious frown.
Assassination Mission?
Ronan immediately speaks up. They were not ready for an assassination mission. However, Claire replies that the Director was adamant about putting them in the field. Bonnie was an experiment- a complete newbie of an agent- so they needed to assess her on a mission. Bonnie’s eyes light up with the possibility of seizing the opportunity to prove herself. But Ronan pinches the bridge of his nose in frustration: it wasn’t an opportunity; it was a matter of life or death! She could get herself killed.
“But that’s why I have you, though,” Bonnie says with strong faith, making him stop in his tracks. Caught completely off guard, he stares at her and loses his train of thought. Claire reiterates the principle of working together. Though Ronan hadn’t partnered with anyone in a while- he embarrassingly looks away- he needed to work with Bonnie. Bonnie stares ahead in shaky determination, concluding Accidental Assassin Chapter 14. Was she really ready for this?
